Quoted from hassellcastle:

I picked this up over the holidays at Half Price Books. Absolutely love it! George Harrison’s first solo album(s) right after the Beatles split. I can listen to “Isn’t it a pity” over and over.
[quoted image]

Great album. My dad had this one in his collection. My mom gave all of his albums to goodwill after they split. Still pissed about that one.

It's a work of art. I love putting on the headphones and listening to that album.
Beware of Darkness is legendary.

Recently picked up The Posies Frosting on the Beater. I have been waiting for this to be reissued for a very long time as original pressings are super scarce. I am happy to say that it was well worth the wait as this was remastered for vinyl and pressed at 45RPM. It sounds fantastic.

For some unknown reason, I have this habit of pairing albums and listening to them together. Sometimes they have very little in common, sometimes they do. For me, Frosting on the Beater's cosmic twin is Bandwagonesque by Teenage Fanclub. These records were both released (at least in the US) by the same label about 18 months apart and they were both produced by Don Fleming. While these bands have little else to do with one another they both owe more than a little back rent to Big Star.

Anyway, if earworm harmonies, mind melting melodies and fuzzy guitar hooks are your thing, neither of these records will disappoint.

Quoted from pinballjah:

A bunch of my record album covers got water damage a few years back. Is there any good sites that sell replacement white record album covers? I'm not looking for the plastic sleeves, more something to replace the original covers to keep the records in. Thanks for your help.

turntablelab.com has a lot of supplies and just interesting stuff in general. Historically it was a site for DJs but they've kind of branched out into a lot of other areas relating to vinyl and music now.

Nice on both counts! Looks like an original Liquid Swords too. I believe mine has a cut corner just like that. Of course I had to buy the record store day chess set version with the instrumentals too but I still play my original. My favorite Wu album.

#3417 5 years ago
Quoted from Jam_Burglar:

My favorite Wu album.

Yeah, I made it a point to listed to all 4 sides in one sitting. It's better than I remember. I've owned it since 1996 so I'm certain it's original.

Own both of those albums, agree 100%. They usually end up getting played in the same sesh.

Great album. My brother-in-law introduced me to it.

I’ve seen Lloyd live a dozen times. Have had a few conversations over the years I convinced him to sell me that red Gibson J-45 (late 60s model) about 12 years ago. He came out a couple years back and played a concert at my house Reunited with his old friend. Unforgettable evening.
