Didn’t try it, but look like a cheaper solution for the Ultrasonic cleaner
Quoted from Fulltilt:It’s worked great for 45 years and going strong.

I think we have the same audio stand lol!
image (resized).jpegQuoted from shock_me:As long as you are cleaning with a good solution they will all give you good results. I landed on this one and I really like it. It wasn't cheap, but it also didn't break the bank like some of the higher end units. Wet cleaning saved a lot of old vinyl in this house![quoted image]
How does the Okki Nokki work?
Does it have a vacuum?

It works very well. Yes it has a vacuum and a pretty strong suction. By the end of a cleaning session I'm always amazed at the extremely dirty solution that gets dumped down the sink. You should even clean new vinyl they say, and I do.
YouTube has some good Okki Nokki videos if you're interested.
Quoted from manitouguy:I have been very happy with my ‘spin clean’ FYI
That one is more in my price range!
Okki Nokki is worth every penny. Absolutely necessary if you ever buy used
Makes a dramatic difference in sound quality

YES! It seems to work great and holds a lot of weight.
Quoted from electricsquirrel:Yeah..I have one of those too, and it works great after many years.
I was looking for something that worked on the dirty second hand records, that I am buying now.
I saw an ultrasonic unit last weekend, but it was close to $5000!!!!!
Found some on Amazon that were more in my price range. Around $79.00.
I was wondering how well units like this worked.

I’ve had a Record Doctor record cleaner for years and highly recommend it. It’s just like the Nitty Gritty but you turn it manually and save $400. https://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=RDV.

I use that same solution and it’s great. Get a good horsehair brush too.
image (resized).jpgDamn yous...my records have been getting crap on them lately and I expect it to get worse as the air drys this winter. Guess I need a starter kit....

I like the Record Doctor. Now you're going to make me get one... (:

It’s not as nice as shock_me ‘s Okki Nokki (which I will probably eventually get) but it’s hard to beat for $200. Surprised you don’t have one already Tilt with all your kick ass gear and endless record collection
Cause it seems like most of my stuff I bought new. It wasn’t till I started reading this damn thread that now I can’t stop buying used stuff everywhere I go! Some of the used stuff is pretty darn nasty.
Quoted from waldo34:Wings over America, no doubt Paul is one of the best ever.
Yes but I'm a George fan. (:
Quoted from vid1900:If you got a 6L ultrasonic, you clean all your records AND all your pinball harnesses and junk too...[quoted image]
I was about to pull the trigger on the Record Doctor. I've also been considering upgrading my crappy Harbor Freight ultrasonic to a 6L. What do you recommend if I go the ultrasonic route? The cheapest kit I could find was around $200 (not including the ultrasonic).
This seems like a very simple DIY solution. The ultrasonic is well reviewed, hopefully an upgrade from my HF one, not that I have any complaints about the HF ultrasonic, other than it being a little small at times. I may modify his mounting method, and add some bearings for the side opposite the motor, but this seems like a good starting point. I think even with some modifications I'd be well under the $200 of the commercial kit and basically have a free ultrasonic cleaner.
Edit: I just bought everything. I used the Radio Shack links. I opted to skip ebay and use Amazon, I paid a small premium but it will ship from the US. I have a Lowe's a mile down the road, so I will pick those items up and save shipping. My total was $195. I will post once I put everything together.
Added over 6 years ago:Edit #2. It may have helped to post the link!
Quoted from JethroP:Shout out to Fulltilt for sending me my Born to Run prize. Arrived yesterday. THANK YOU.

Curious how this turns out!! And it can clean pinball parts! Win-win!

My absolute favourite Stones LP. That and Let it Bleed. Huge fan of this era of their music.

And Sticky Fingers. I played it so much that I lost the zipper.
And no, I didn't say played "with it". (:
Keep a pack around. You don't think about them till you need them.

I clean all my vinyl eventually and after that I throw away the paper sleeves and replace with the MoFi sleeves. If the inner sleeve is printed with lyrics or artwork I keep it empty in the jacket.
I edited my old post, but it's a bit buried now. This is what I plan on basing my cleaner on.
I plan on modifying a few things. Let me know what you think.

Got a LOT to go thru still....

Very cool!! I'd have to speed it up to at least 10 rpm or it would drive me crazy watching it.
Or maybe around 33 1/3 might be most appropriate. Generate a small wake. {:
