Moved everything to the room next door. Finally got the painting done. I'm getting too old for painting!
Nice to have a little more room.

Pantera on the big screen?? Fulltilt, you rock! Any vinyl?

LOL, didn't think anyone would pick them out. Had the DVD playing and realized if I didn't 'pause it', they keep moving so fast it looked like nothing but a blur!
I have no Pantera vinyl, but am on the search. (:

I was at Disney World shortly after that film dropped and saw this at the record spot in downtown Disney. Bizzar right? It was $30 something so I passed. One of the biggest regrets in my digging history! It was finally repressed years ago. Anyway great record, and great flick. Mr Eddie's theme is the shit.

Santander Arena in Reading PA, first time for Mastodon but we see Primus at least once a year. Great show, the opener ‘All Them Witches’ was the real surprise. I coulda been just fine with them playing through Mastodon’s set.

(not my pic, we’ve started just leaving our phones in the car...)

All Them Witches is awesome. I'd love to see them live.

I like Mastodon in small doses. They're a great band, but like a lot of technically-proficient metal bands, I find them to be a bit "samey" after a handful of songs. I've got a signed copy of Leviathan on vinyl. I should post that in this thread one of these days...

I went straight home and ordered Sleeping Through The War on vinyl... they were solid. I'm not sure if it's good or bad when I can anticipate every move a drummer makes but I was pretty locked-on.

Mastodon's lead singer was corny, he mostly masturbated his guitar the whole night and kept pointing at one single fan he either liked or didn't (couldn't tell) who was behind us somewhere. Plus they suffered from the same problem Clutch did last year, just not sounding that great through Primus' sound equipment. Small doses sounds about right.

Might I suggest you guys pick up “Lightning At The Door” by ATW (on vinyl of course). It’s incredible and one of the finest sounding hard rock records I own. The way the drums are recorded sounds eerily close to the John Bonham sound. Awesome band. Sleeping Through The War is great too. One of the best unheard of bands out there in my opinion.

Stopped by a garage sale in the pouring rain today. Picked out a few and asked How much? Sweet older lady says they get get cheaper the more you buy. I ask how much for them all. She says $5.00. I tell her they're worth more then that. Says her husband is taking them to the dump tomorrow. I give her $20, load them up and she then says here's a record player that you can have. Haha, yeah I was stoked to get them. Looks like they'll hold about 25 albums. I have small ones for 45s but never seen the large ones.

I’m in Nashville for work right now, so I swung by this place earlier today:

There was a ton of awesome stuff there, but I opted to grab a pint glass and a couple of live recordings from the adjacent studio:

Good old local boy. (:

I’m staying at the Gaylord Opryland hotel, but haven’t actually made it to the Opry itself yet. I fly out tomorrow evening, so I may swing by the Grand Ol Opry before I head to the airport. I’m admittedly not a country music guy, but I respect the history and appreciate the musicianship.

I wish I had more time here. I’m really digging Nashville. I was in Knoxville about a year ago to the day, and I loved it there, too. Tennessee is awesome.

100 upvotes for this. Most people would have paid the $5 and left. Good on you man.

The feeling when you find that album in the stack that’s been so long you can’t remember the last time you played it.

Listening to old favorites where I never recognized the great “others” on the album.

Sometime back pinsider Impzilla posted a pic of his setup that featured a record bin. Cost was a little much but after some research I found plans to build one using a single sheet of plywood. I got a little geeky and added edging and purchased plastic dividers from Amazon. All told project came in under $100. I love being able to flip through the collection and see the full album cover. Up next i'm thinking under shelf led lighting.

Plans found here:
