This is the album that completely changed my listening habits and unfortunately for my parents my attitude back in 1981 as a snot nosed 12 year old. Still sounds fresh and along with London Calling is the most played of my old catalogue.

That's about the time I lost touch with reality and became an arcade rat.

Me too. Gorgar and Centaur stole my soul.

Been digging into my brother’s hand-me-down vinyls lately. Nothing wrong with a little late night Rainbow. Dio rocks

I just listened to that a couple of days ago. Still sounds great to me!

My buddy's band just released a new album today. Been jamming all morning. The wax should be on my doorstep when I get home. $18, not bad.

Nice! They’re a really good band. I really like their “Ugly” album.

It’s the girl/singer right? I’ve never seen them live but on the album I have she(?) absolutely tears it up.

The good stuff always ends up on the tt when we are drinking, I'm guessing it happens everywhere.

I want to join the vinyl club!
I kept about half of my original stuff from the early 80's: AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Rush, B52's, Adam Ant, etc...
I inherited a bunch of Beatles, Stones, Kingston Trio and Ray Charles from my parents.
My most beloved album is my original Disney Haunted Mansion with picture book.
Confession: my first album bought with my own money was Xanadu soundtrack. Still have it...Ahhh, Olivia Newton John.
This last weekend I stumbled on a really cool record I love, that was never released in the US on vinyl and has 3 bonus tracks:

Souls at Zero... another eBay overpayed original pressing! I stopped shopping on there years ago but definitely paid some premium prices on a few albums.. i bought 2 sublime albums for almost $150 each one time! Haha.. i was drinking beers that night and someone scooped one on me while i was looking at it. Turns out it was ME who clicked "buy it now" and didnt realise it! Haha

emkay Eagle eyed there. Actually one is Nick Cave’s book and the other Michael Gira. Am a Fan of Hank though. I owe that man a lot, I was on the path of being a complete fuck up till I traded my skateboard for a bunch of his spoken word albums back when I was in middle school.

I agree. It’s a repressing from a few years ago. They did a nice job.

Chitownpinball’s post reminded me I haven’t busted this out in a while.

This might be the best thread on Pinside right now! Just listening to a few new acquisitions as I wind down on a Sunday afternoon.

Angel Dust!

#2137 6 years ago

How’s that Angel Dust pressing? Is that the remastered version? If so, I’ve been meaning to pick that up. AD is a top 5 all time album for me.

Love Angel Dust and I hadn't even thought to look for Calexico on vinyl... my mailman hates me.

It's the remastered version and highly recommend picking up a copy. The best part in my opinion is that it isn't overly "remastered" in that it sounds a lot like the original, really high quality pressing too.

Yeah, I was pretty stoked to find Feast of Wire, one their best imho.... I can relate, all my Amazon orders come to my office. Thanks to this thread it's been a steady stream of records the last few weeks, needless to say my co-workers think I have a problem!

It's clear I need to catch up. I'm stuck 4 decades behind.
