“Yet” is the key word. Although I know you’re talking about the vinyl. ..

Yes. It’s hard to get my 22yo to show a little Taj love.

Quoted from Pickle:

So broke down and bought a spin vinyl cleaner...does a good job but I can really see why a true cleaner with a vacuum is much better.....highly thinking of getting one....kind of pricey but thought I would ask if you knew someone local would you pay a small fee to have your records cleaned with a PROFESSIONAL vinyl cleaner? I am thinking of offsetting the cost if there would be interest at about $1 a record and return all records in new paper sleeves....it is tedious but worth it. Clean records sound much better....your thoughts please.

My thought is that I would buy a heavy duty cleaner if I thought I needed it and not think about trying to offset the cost. The service would be nice though as I don't know where else it is available. (:

That said... around 90%+ of my records have been cleaned from day 1 with my good old Discwasher. I pretty much never see signs of dust/dirt.
I once bought a Spin-Clean system. Never used it and ended up giving it away.

Headphones were made for vinyl. Picked up a new headphone amp. Can't wait to try it out when the new man-cave, uh, "media room", is finished. (:

I have no Pantera vinyl, but am on the search. (:

And those will be my music choices of the night....

Great job! I think half the fun of hi-fi is tinkering and customizing it. Kinda' like pinball. !

I had my Linn turntable die on me earlier this year. I thought it was a bad motor but after reading and watching some videos, I found it might be the old Valhalla power supply. I gambled and replaced it with the better Lingo power supply. At first I didn't think I could do it but turned out to be an easy job.

Wee wee bit of disco ... now and then [quoted image]

Fun times. There's probably no one else here remembering the North Asheville disco scene in the late 70's - early 80's.
Doc's Rock Shop was the place to be!

Quoted from Goronic:

I have a question. I have a Yamaha RX-A3030 receiver that has a phono input. My speakers are the Klipsch reference premier line that include the RP-280F so needless to say power isn't an issue. I got a crosley C100 turn table and it sounds nice, BUT when I play CDs or Bluerays it is very crisp and loud, on phono the sound is still good but I have to turn it up twice as loud to get the same volume (so -40 CD takes -10 for phono). Do I need a preamp? Better cables? Better turntable???

Different cartridge?
Phono cartridge outputs are often/usually lower than CDs.

Not a bad little Amazon 'deal of the day' for anyone needing a reasonably priced receiver with a nice phono input.

Saw them in Atlanta in ‘76 .. or was it '77? The memory was impaired.
