Raidohead - The Bends is $11.89 today

It's the album where Radiohead started morphing into the Radiohead we know today

I dono, those are some pretty complex compositions for Pinsiders.

Don't you have any Beatles to suggest?

I never get emails from amazon, went into account settings and there are a ton of subscriptions you can get alerts on.
My account was set to block all subscriptions, added vinyl.

Never knew - Thx.

Here is the back cover of that Bowie changes one. I heard this album in its entirety in seventh grade. I had to post the back to show the contents.

Dammit, why did I go look?

Air - Moon Safari $11.77
Beck - Guero $10.13
Stevie Wonder - Talking Book $9.89

Plus all of what Vid posted and a couple others... oh and that Bowie showed up on my porch yesterday. I'm gonna have to put myself on a budget soon!

Another worn slam out album.
I still love to play it.

Now I looked and found Roxy Music- Country Life. It is one of my favorite album covers of all time. I might have to order it for $13.22

The problem with the Amazon sales is stuff sells out so quickly.

Wonder when I’ll get my Crüe.

Yeah, I almost ordered but since I hate that don't take my money now thing, I didn't...and it about doubled in price since.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't stand it when I balancing my accounts and amazon crap that's out of stock doesn't take money for even a couple months (it's happened). Then all of a sudden, I look at an account and I'm like where did that money go out of the blue?? Amazon says its "for your convenience".....

Sorry...Friday night rant. Lol

Play on!

Just a heads up those new Metallica pressings sound like shit. If that sort of thing matters to you. They never sounded great in the first place (the music obviously rules) but I bought this and MOP and they sound like it’s playing on one of those Fisher Price record players.

Edit to add I just realized it’s 9.99. Probably worth it.

Yes I’d like to hear the story behind that deck.

#1932 1 year ago

It was marketed via Wilco mailing lists and social media. I ordered mine on day one.

Besides looking good, it surprised me with the sound quality. Not the same as a high-end deck, but a great addition as a second turntable in the game room I've been working on for the past 18 months... I highly recommend the Pro-Ject Carbon DC for anyone who is looking for a well priced solid sounding turntable.

Sweet! A juke with Hank Williams.

#1935 1 year ago

Yeah....I got tons of 45’s. Need more current ones for my taste. This is one of my dads that was passed down to me when he passed away.....notice the Joe Diffie LOL!

Jukes will always be special to me because he enjoyed them. Grew up listening to all the 50’s/60’s etc because of him. It is great music for its time. But he listened to other stuff as well.

I will never forget when I was about 10 or so is my Dad getting up on Saturday mornings and it could be as early as 7am and he would be having coffee, reading the paper, and playing one of the jukeboxes. I can’t tell you how many time I woke up hearing “Don’t mess with my Toot Toot” LOL!!!

I have a project genie.. lil cheaper than the carbon dc i think.. but still sounds great to me! Upgraded to the blue stylus..modest enough considering my old amp/preamp. 70w × 2! I did buy new speakers tho.. a Whaphdale 12" sub and some Epos 6 1/2's

I concur. My Ride reissue is bad but tolerable. Puppets is unlistenable.

I am torn here. a tiny record store just opened down the street. One guy, trying to make a living. I would rather pay $5 more an album and support him than help Bezos buy a small country.

I'm an Amazon lover, buy lots of stuff....so easy. But this is vinyl Gents, we have to support the local guy....if you have one. ( I gave a list to my guy and told him I want 4 new ones a month...its my own "record of the month" club)

#1943 1 year ago

Supporting my local comic book stores in the same ways. Everything is cheaper online. I pay more at the store sometimes also, I buy stuff I normally wouldn't buy. I do the same thing at my local gaming shops. I'm getting ideas now.

I would like a jukebox someday.

Do you ever get tired of it? Does the novelty wear off?

This is a serious decision for me, as my space is limited.

I never get tired of it and don’t think I ever will. I love music and know a jukebox does not suit all my needs but there is something I enjoy about it....pushing the buttons, watching the record being picked up and playing. Never gets old. The jukes made in the late 60’s-80’s have no nostalgia....you can’t see the record play.

For me, no. I love it, and would not have a gameroom or house without it. For me, there IS a little bit of nostalgia - which is why I got the model I did.

Sometimes I will switch out 45's, usually a few a month, to keep choices 'fresh', so to speak.

#1947 1 year ago

I love the amazing chrome and colors on older jukeboxes so much, but I have to admit that for my type of music I play most on 45 (70s rock, 80s pop, and the hard to find wish I could 90s stuff) I freauently fall for a more modern 45 juke.

Love the tube amps on a rowe and a 70s one would be a good median....but I find it hard to listen to a gin blossoms 45 on a 60s machine....the stereo and speaker quality of some 80s rowes just work best for me as far as the sound goes.

Sooo not the coolest looking of the machines, but enjoy those 70s/80s singles so much on them.

But hey, hard to say no to any vinyl juke....it's vinyl, and awesome!

Pick up one of the last phono models, the 92 or 93 conversion. The amps are robust as hell and when you hook up external speakers, the quality is a hell of a lot better than you would expect.

The older ones are more beautiful and aesthetically pleasing, but if you want music, find an early 90's version. I picked up my first one 3 years ago and now have 3 of them. When I work on pinball, you just start entering random selections and you have a mix of 200 songs playing. I do echo that watching the record get selected, placed, and the needle going down on these is a thing of beauty. I stopped picking up albums and just focus on 45s now.

Funny you say that - I'm not 100% sure on that.
My MM6 has a tube amp. And with a little adjustment on my phone's equalizer (turn down volume, low-end pushed up some), I can blast any song through the tube amp. And holy cow, even in this ultilitarian appliance cabinet and speakers (all original, from 1972)... it sounds *amazing*. The first time I played a newer alternative rock album, I was blown away. Those tubes her humming!

So jealous of you guys with Jukes.

The only one I've ever had wouldn't even play vinyl...
