What's everyone's take on picture discs or colored vinyl over all? Just curious I've heard anything but black has overall worse quality. (Sorry if this has already been discussed!)
I've got a unique take on this because I do a lot of scratch DJing and I'm many times harder on the records than somebody who's just playing them. Generally, I've found is that black vinyl holds up better, but that's not always the case. I think it really comes down to "it depends on the pressing." I can definitely say that I have a lot of colored vinyl has picked up pops and clicks faster, and burns out considerably faster. In some cases I've got the same record in both black and colored vinyl and the colored vinyl just wears out way faster. With some records though, the colored vinyl seems to hold up just as well as the black vinyl. Go figure.
Picture discs, on the other hand, clearly don't fare as well as normal records (black or color).
