AND a brand new copy. This was an album I sold when CDs first came on the scene. How much I regretted the ones I sold. I'm glad I quickly regained my mind and saved the rest.

Quoted from Rascal_H:

Tonight’s listen.

I bought that album when it came out.
It has always been one of my "go to" albums.

A true classic!

Another pickup. Showing my age maybe..

Check out this picture I posted many moons ago on Pinside. You may see something familiar.

Found this digging crates today, never heard of them but I figured it was worth 5 bucks to hear what Gilby Clarke was doing before he joined GnR. Doing a little research I found out the bassist and drummer went on to be in Electric Angels another great 90's band. This will either be really good or complete shit, going to give it a spin now and see.

The hair is worth the 5 bucks. Gotta love it.

Not gonna lie the hair is what made me stop and look at the back cover. Anyway it wasn't too, bad a little too pop rock for me but a couple catchy tracks. Fair to say most everyone in the band went on to better things.

#1561 6 years ago

One of them nites... rip Malcolm

Danny Gatton was for a time, the greatest guitarist on the earth. Putting his contemporaries like Crapton to shame.

And unlike his contemporaries, he never recorded anything less than a perfect album.

He fully mastered the Blues, Jazz, Rockabilly, and even Western styles.

He could play crazy fast, but never played any slop.

He blew his head off in the garage alongside his beloved hotrods. No suicide note needed.

My new favorite Miles.
Damn good.

Living in Durham, NC in '77, I qualified in a radio call in contest to name your favorite album. I named Yellow Fever but lost the contest. It's still pretty good.

Bar Room Crystal Ball remains the big chill.

Bastards and their stickers. Sometimes they come off, sometimes they tear the hell out of your cover.

Lol, I have a sealed copy (same obvious reason)...never opened it to see if it was any good as I was betting it was more fun looking at the sealed LP than playing it. Lol, could be wrong

This arrived today from Mondo, killer box set Totally forgot I preordered 6 months ago. Wish someone could get Tyler Stout into pinball artwork design!

What bad storage over the years can do to a great album. Thank goodness the vinyl was untouched.

Love Hubert Laws on this.

Those first 4 Bob James records are so damn good. I pretty much buy everything I see on CTI and I can't say I've ever gone wrong with that. The quality of the sounds on them are just magical. I also look for the first presses with the shiny covers. So nice.

Recently picked up this gem. Songs about Buildings and Food is probably my second favorite Talking Heads album imho.

I played at least 2 tracks off that album last time I DJed out.

I also have an MJ sleeper favorite that he did with Jermaine called "Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin'"

It is, there are two copies of the original 7" version (assuming that's the one desired due to the comment about Nazis) ranging between $3800-$5000. The 12" is far easier to locate and considerably less dear, not to mention all the dubious reprints over the years.

What's the best way to clean 45's?
New to collecting recommendations appreciated.
Kits available? What works?

Also looking at recommendations on places to purchase 45's

Cheers

Danny Gatton was an amazing guitarist.
After years of battling depression, he chose to end his life.
We all know how it went down.

Please show some respect.
