I've been really focusing on 45's this year. With two jukeboxes and a Tech 1650 - the ability to move from artist to artist is more appealing to me at this point. I'm also getting tired of the same rock and roll/pop that I've known for 40 years, so wandering into different territories. Hopefully the Pinside Vinyl Club will sanction my contributions.
Some from my latest pull. These are all european imports.

It's pretty much the only vinyl I buy any more. This year I've bought 2 LP's and about 200 45's.
Quoted from Dee-Bow:That's crazy! Unless u only use a jukebox..i hate rippin' flecords
The record store I go to has a mountain of 45's.
At $.50 a piece, I'd love to buy a pile of them!
A jukebox would be most cool to have.
Just don't have the room for it right now.
Quoted from waldo34:Picked up a juke this past weekend. It's been allot of fun playing the 45s.
Nice one! There is just something magical about spinning 45s. Add the different sound from groove cutting, the mono difference, the wide range of variety, and the B-side factor and you have yourself a universe to discover. I still listen to albums, but it takes time and you have to listen to "filler" too often.

Agree on all points. You don't need a jukebox to enjoy 45's. Most jukeboxes don't have phenomenal sound output any way, unless you are in to rebuilding them.
A nice vintage home setup playing 45's sounds great. I've bought every single 45 I own for .25 - $1 at the most and I have a huge variety. The only bad part is they are so cheap. I often buy 20-30 and end up giving away a third of the ones I buy.
No one really wants 45s in my city and the record stores around me only take them if they get them for free. The only place I've ever seen offer money for them gives .05 cents store credit for a 45 and sells them for 0.25 cents.

Up here I post 45s in lots of 300 for $150cdn on the buy and sell and don't seem to have a problem at all moving them. Here's a pic of my juke. 1951 Seeburg. I'll have to take a pic of nightsearchers collection next time over. He must have 5 or 6 of them. Sick bastard
Quoted from Rascal_H:What a strange YouTube rabbit hole you've sent me down.
You know I only like the good stuff
Vitas has a 5 octave range voice, and designs all those crazy costumes himself.
He's actually Ukrainian, but sings in Russian.

He sounds like he's singing the theme from Star Trek:

Very futuristic! He reminds me of the Diva from one of my favorite movies - Fifth Element.
Quoted from Fulltilt:It's late Sunday and time for Mr. Magic.
Vitas needs to play Harlem first before he can stand...» YouTube video
Ramsey is next !
Love that record. It got me to dig out Jazzy Jeff's record where he samples that.

Quoted from Jam_Burglar:Another great record! I really like that track "Love Song" on there.
Made myself a note in '77 that I "Sound Guarded" it for keeping.
The contra soundtrack?

I wasn't sure how much I was really going to like Ok Computer. I thought I might be "too old".
So far I like it... a lot.
Quoted from Haggy38:Pinball and Vinyl.......... love them.
Excellent Nakamichi. I had an old 600 in the day. Thought it was so futuristic at the time.

Thanks, love the Nakamichi sound and design.
Quoted from ssbodyman:Not perfect enough for the hot album thread but pretty excited to finally find this recently. The sound quality of the cd was horrible but I loved it back in the day, lp sounds better but not great.
There's a hot album thread? I think any album you enjoy is a hot album!
Quoted from Fulltilt:There's a hot album thread?
Sad thing is these are the two most enjoyable threads on pinside right now. I need to find a good music forum to talk pinball on.
Quoted from ssbodyman:Not perfect enough for the hot album thread...
Maybe we need start a hot album thread!

Quoted from Fulltilt:Lol! I was about to post Pyro.
Doesn't get much hotter than on fire.

Quoted from Fulltilt:Memory of seeing the Moody Blues.
Saw them in Salt Lake City years ago with a symphony orchestra. They were fantastic. I saw they are playing again in Vegas next year at the Wynn.
