Whenever I go thru a stack of vinyl I just bought I always pull the Elvis. Here's 3 from the box of 60 I snagged for only a few bucks the other day.20170701_205312 (resized).jpg

And speaking of Elvis. Check this Elvis 45 collection I found in the back of a 1951 Seeburg I picked up recently. 20170701_205543 (resized).jpg

Getting ready to fire up the grill here on this nice Sunday afternoon, nothing says "Summer" to me like this album...

HOT FUN!

A couple that were always summer for me. Junior Walker I saw as young fellow at the Ember's Beach Club in Atlantic Beach. One of the minority white boys in the crowd!
War and All Day Music was always a summer tune! (on the 8 Track!)

Absolutely, great pick!

Is it a move for quality vinyl or a snag for the trend and income for Sony? I guess either way more available LPs is a good thing.

Not sure what this exactly means. Their artists are on vinyl already and all vinyl production is by independent businesses.....so I'm thinking just sloppy reporting? What exactly is the story?

Fake News!

What fourth of July weekend would be complete without this one:

I know I said I wasn't crazy about live albums,
But..............

And my favorite Rush album!

Rush (resized).jpg

Quoted from electricsquirrel:

And my favorite Rush album!

That is the bands and most fans least favorite, but I'm also one for favoring band's lesser works like Alice Cooper's DADA or KISS's The Elder.

I think the story is that Sony is building a NEW record stamping plant, after 27 years of not pressing vinyl.

Elvis' first and best album:
$10 (I know that Amazon says "live" but don't believe them, it's studio)

Thanks VID!!

Magnificent table, always has been...congrats!

Just discovered the threat on Monday and finally made my way through all 23 pages (thanks, work) and love all the excitement and appreciation for music and technology.

OP mentioned early on about cleaning options and I was curious if anyone had heard of or tried the elmers glue technique. Been meaning to try it with a few of my dirtier records, but haven't dove in.

Discwasher has been all I've ever needed. It they are that dirty, I might turn to something like the Spin-Clean but they would have to be pretty dirty it seems to need more than that.

Haven't done it myself but I know someone who has and only as a last resort when his VPI 16.5 couldn't clean them well enough. He actually used Titebond II wood glue, I'm sure there are videos on YT.

The results will vary; nothing will fix scratches or groove wear but he was able to remove the fuzzy sound from some old mono records that we thought were trashed.

And +1 on the Spin Clean, they work very well.

Beautiful, congrats on a great turntable. What cartridge are you putting on there?

Wow nice. I haven't graduated to moving coils carts yet.

Make sure you check the 45 pile at the garage sales....

I've done the glue method On some "got nothing to lose" discs. It works, but I've found a spin clean followed by a diy vacuum attachment gets them just as clean without the hassle. Spin clean has half price sales on their website every now and then. It's a good entry level cleaning system imo.

Always check the Urban section of the Salvation Army vinyl for unfound treasures.

There was no way any black customers were going to buy this, even for $1

You are not a real fan unless you have stood at the I84 interchange in Hartford, Connecticut where the OK Computer cover was painted from.

I also picked this up yesterday. I kind of burnt out on Dan Auerbach a few years ago so when The Arcs come out I just kind of ignored it. It's actually really good. Lots of good r&b vibe.
