Accept, Too Mean To Die, 2lp 2020, color swirl vinyl, Gatefold.
Produced by Andy Sneep, who has also produced the last 2 Priest albums.
This is the fourth album with the new singer, and forth Sneep Production.
Its amazing that a band can create such a great album this far into a career.
One of the best Metal albums of the last few years.
Highly Recommend.

I've had this one since 8th or 9th grade. I'm not usually into "best of" compilations, and prefer to hear songs in their original album context. But by that time the Dead had such a deep catalog and I just didn't know where to start. So, this was my intro:

New " Import " pressing...
Heads up.. I've been looking for an original copy for years unsuccessfully..
Recently I found a brand new Boot, this will do the trick until Iommi gets around to remastering this era.
When Death Calls is a favorite.

If I remember correctly, Jane’s Addiction’s Nothing Shocking was the other leading candidate for hard rock/metal album of the year. The outcome was quite the surprise. I believe my specific reaction to Jethro’s win was, “Huh?!”

I always laugh that Metallicunt are still butthurt because Jethro Tull had the better Hard Rock album that year.
{they have been nominated for 18 Grammys over the years, and have actually won 8, but they still weep for 35 years, weeping and weeping. Sometimes they regain their composure for a moment, and then Lars bursts out weeping again....)

Been spinning this one a lot lately. Crosby’s first solo album, recorded while mourning his girlfriend’s tragic death.
Absolutely gorgeous album, with a stellar lineup of supporting musicians, most of whom happening to be working on their own albums in other rooms at the studio, and would drop in to jam and party with Croz. The gang was nicknamed the Planet Earth Rock and Roll Orchestra, and included members of the dead, Jefferson airplane, quicksilver messenger service, Santana…
Check out the crew!

I would have never listened to this were it not for your post. Very nice!
IMG_0705 (resized).jpegMore UFO !
Super exciting to find this at Spin.
UFO Walk On Water 1997, Clear Vinyl, Brand New, I believe this is the first time on Vinyl.
Michael Schenker returns to UFO.
This is the album tour that the Werewolves of London live album is taken from.
I didn't notice low locals on the live album... I did notice Mogg sounded great... but not low.

The WHO Philadelphia Vol. 1 2LP.
Yet another pressing of The WHO live in Philadelphia 1973 Quadrophenia tour.
This is only half the show.
Wish the band would remaster/Mix this show and release it as an official bootleg.

I saw them tour behind that record. They ended up cancelling the tour after just a few shows. I think the Boathouse, where I saw it, was the last. Like you, I spent a while tracking down the CD. I wish I had spent that time looking for the vinyl instead.

Yeah.. I remember seeing the Vinyl occasionally in the 90s.. and I dismissed it, like most if it wasn't DIO or Ozzy I didn't care.
Then I broke down and bought the CD in 2003 at the West Covina Tower Records and really dug it.
Took 20 more years to get it on Vinyl...
Oh well.. I'm an Idjit.

Gonzo I need to make a retraction as the first song, is when I posted, seemed to have low vocals but as the record went on it was different. Not sure if there[s a different in pressing or what but I listened again and the vocals seem low on the first song. Nonetheless, it's a great album! Appreciate you posting about it.
BTW You see for RSD there's a UFO Greatest Hits release coming out? For me I thing UFO is better live then the studio stuff but to each their own!

Alot of live shows start off dodgy.. crowd is cheering, the band is amped up... the house sound mixer is hearing what it really sounds like... not with an empty house at sound check.
Sound usually improves on the second and third songs.

I get it that Metallica can be whiny babies, and I was a kid when this happened, but I don't consider Jethro Tull hard rock. Not even close. Admittedly I've never heard this album, I can't stand Jethro Tull. I never saw the appeal. Great, you can play the flute and make annoyingly catchy songs. Was the album actually hard rock? This event turned me off of awards shows, and I never really turned back.
I'd love to hear that it was a great hard rock/ heavy metal album and I was wrong all these years. I listened to a lot of classic rock radio back then along with modern rock radio, and I don't think I heard one song from it. I understand it's not a popularity contest, but they played plenty of Tull, just not the new stuff.
Hate on Metallica all you want, they deserve most of it. I still consider And Justice for All to be one of the best metal albums ever made, even with no bass in the mix. Huge missed opportunity to fix it with the remaster and knock it up a few notches on the best metal albums.

Metallica died with Cliff Burton, the band was never the same. And Justice for All is the start of their decline, and everything that came after is fucking garbage.
S.O.D. What a great non pc album. Songs still apply to today's world. Been rocking that one since 86.
Quoted from beergut666:Metallica died with Cliff Burton, the band was never the same. And Justice for All is the start of their decline, and everything that came after is fucking garbage.
Yeah, I feel like their best era was Ride The Lightening to And Justice For All with Master Of Puppets being their peak. More power to them for all their success after that. It's an age old scenario with a given band's greatest commercially successful material not coinciding with their best art.

This x100
I remember getting an advanced promo copy of the album from my buddy that worked at a radio station.
It came with a hype card that said what the singles were going to be. It said "One" was going to be a highlight. I played that first and threw up in my mouth a little.
Whole album was total suckage.
Quoted from Shredso:but I don't consider Jethro Tull hard rock.
That's fine, but 12,000 people who work in the music industry did, and thus Tull won the grammy.
Tull made some of the strangest music videos of all time. Like of all time....like even after 40 years time.....

Nobody does! Including their singer Ian Anderson who has said many times he thinks they only won because they're a bunch of nice guys who never won a grammy before. He also said he was perplexed and amused that they were even nominated in the category. He didn't bother to show up that nite because he didn't think they'd win!
* fun fact- i once got shushed at a Jethro Tull concert by an old lady near me! Apparently you're not supposed to cheer loud between songs!
Quoted from Fulltilt:Steve Morse guitar madness.
The Dregs played regularly in downtown Chapel Hill in the late 70's.
I love me some Dregs and Morse! Saw them front row at Wisconsin State Fair it was amazing!

Steve Morse is the greatest living guitarist imo. See him as soon as possible if you have never before seen him. I will go again as soon as possible.
I just spun this one up. It's a hard rock power trio where every member is a master of his instrument. I saw them live a couple of weeks ago in a smallish club, touring behind their third album. This is their second. The third is not available on vinyl yet. I'm hoping a special edition is in the works.
I think I saw Eddie Trunk at that show. He was instrumental in getting them together. It's more or less a side gig for them, because they each have multiple bands/projects in the works. They record an album together, tour behind it, and take a break to do other things.
