Wish my copy was only 16.99! Haha

I got this 1980 VPI HW19 mk1 with souther linear tracking tonearm from the original owner back in the 1990's. It came with all original boxes and paperwork. I have it in my arcade connected to an early 2000's Onkyo TX-NR1000 flagship receiver. I crank up some vinyl every now and then.

Scored a "parts" PL 518. Despite a few things damaged in shipping, it's working and sounding great!

Awesome setup. Would love to score some vintage stuff like that and fix it up.

I like it. Not as much as the previous albums but a few good songs on each side. The production is awesome as usual, their Vinyl always sounds great.

More filler than usual unfortunately...that would be my synopsis pretty much.

I'll give it a 2.5 out of 4. That could change. Besides the first album, which I loved every track pretty much the first time I heard it, every one of their albums has been a grower for me.

Sega Master System….nice

This might be the best sounding album in my collection. Outstanding pressing and the jacket and sleeve are very nice too. Such a great album. I need to pick up Automatic Midnight as well from them.

Not too difficult these days to do as most artist have caught on and instead of having 1500 copies of one color for a release they're doing 500 copies of 4 different colors. Not only releasing more from a production aspect but also getting people to buy more than one copy.

#7673 2 years ago

The colored ones are just a bonus to us. If it's only a couple of bucks difference the colored ones just look cool.

#7674 2 years ago

Why do colored LPs sound fine and picture discs sound so shitty?

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

After a little research, it's a clear translucent film that seals the picture is what the actual grooves are pressed into.
Basically, it's like putting grooves into a playfield protector.

Oh man, don't give anybody ideas

"Record player mod on GNR...actually plays music through the grooves when you hit the Slash spinner!!!"

or maybe a picture disc for the spinning record. Levi this is gold .... go for it!

Small lot of new stuff to listen to this weekend, even the Pin-Ball Rock 8-Track will get some playtime. If fact, I might play quite a bit of 8-Tracks.

If you dig SubHumans, checkout this guys Dolly conversion.

Love Link Wray! Ace is always good too!!! Not an 8 track guy but some nice pick ups if they all work.

#7680 2 years ago

Oh Wow Link Wray!

I was lucky enough to see him perform at the Stephen Talkhouse back in the early 90's. I think he was living in Denmark at thee time and came stateside just to do a few shows.

Cool Dude!

Snagged some good stuff at a flea market today. This one was the best of the bunch. Love old Genesis and the early live albums are great. Nearly perfect condition too.

Following Gov here. Been buying vinyl for a few years. I’m mostly into soundtracks from movies. Listened to this recommendation from bingopodcast today while cleaning. If anyone ever comes across the soundtrack from the horribly amazing 80s horror film Black Roses please hook me up!
