Nothing goes quite so well with vinyl as tube audio! Some have been saying vinyl is making a comeback, I say it never left.

Glass Houses is fantastic. Billy + Cocaine was a great recipe.

Jackson + cocaine = magic.

You kind of need to dig up some research on the pressings. Most of the time they're just doing some color variant off an existing plate that's already been mastered/cut. Just an example, I got their Stone Temple Pilots - Purple album recently. Bernie Grundman master/cut and pressed at Optimal Media in Germany. But then their STP - Core album is kind of a meh pressing because it's 1 LP and almost an hour of music, so they have to REALLY turn down the volume in order to fit that much on each side.

As for these Led Zeppelin, I have no idea on the pressing. Looks like it won't be released until March and not until you read the runout matrix you'll get any sort of pressing info.

It's the one thing that I just dislike about collecting today. You never really know what you're getting on a new pressing unless they state it, whether it's a digital sourced recording (most likely with a modern recording) digital master/remaster before it's cut to a lacquer or DMM for plating. At least CDs when they first came out were doing three letter codes to tell you the source recording, mastering and media type. So a CD could be AAD where it's analog recording, analog master, digital media. But your holy grail is to keep the chain analog and have AAA for records. You ideally wouldn't want ADA or DDA. Not to say that a digital media can't sound good on vinyl, but it loses that whole reason I want vinyl in the first place.

Places like Discogs and the Steve Hoffman Forums are invaluable for figuring out which pressing you want to grab.

All these years of listening to that album, and I finally figured out what the song "Rosie" was about.

If you love Rush/Led Zeppelin/Yes give Crown Lands a listen to. They are a duo out of Canada that makes an incredible sound for two guys

Right on and an awakening in most of us when we watched and listened to it.
I watch a lot of youtube vids of guys criticizing the quality of recordings and they are very particular of every tiny thing.

I normally don't hear what they are alluding to on most records, it's so minut, but when I listened to this recording, Brad's effort on certain parts, shall I say, are quite LOUD and in FroNT. Totally takes you out of the moment. Barry Bostwick sounds like a complete amateur shouting out in parts.

I've never really been into the 7" thing. I bought this set for Minor Threat, even though I already have all of these songs on vinyl. It sounds great, well packaged. I'm looking forward to exploring some new bands.

Nice. I have found that those smaller Pioneers (6-700 series) have a better overall sound than those Flagship Monsters. Not nearly as muddy through the bass and they don't burn up their power supplies as completely, either. Matched with the righ pair of speakers, they really sing.

Just got it today from Goodwill, and it's in better shape that I thought. I'm still going to give it a quick once over, and clean all the pots before we start using it.

I just can’t roll with vintage amps.

Need to be able to use a remote.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

We're just using this for our turntable. Everything else will still be going through our Yamaha A/V receiver, surround sound subwoofer bullshit.

There are lot of ways to add remote capability to a vintage receiver by adding a streamer or bluetooth adapter through one of the aux ports, and use the remote or app to control it.

I just can't wait to set this up so we can just stare at it while listening to some records. It'll be like watching a fireplace with the VU meters dancing all over the place.

I am but I got limits…I like being in the couch !!

But I have my TV going through the amp too so it would be a royal pain to have to get up whenever I want to adjust the volume.
