I Just recently heard someone discussing Volbeat, and learned they were a Metal band.

Ive seen their records in stores for what.... 10 years and with that name i assumed it was hipster electronica or some such other nonsence.

I'll give em a listen.

Yep, the album is a Crusher.

#7458 2 years ago

The opaque pink you have matches the cover art pretty good tho

just my opinion

#7459 2 years ago
Quoted from gonzo73:

Yep, the album is a Crusher

It's been in heavy rotation here

solid in every regard

#7460 2 years ago

Yeah, they matched the album art perfectly.
On to side two.....

For those of you who haven't heard them, Its very close to SLEEP, Stoner Psych Doom, if you dig Dopesmoker you will dig Spelljammer.

Just found this page, I just got into vinyl last year and of course am looking for all my childhood favs. Mainly looking for an OG Motley Crue Too Fast for Love on Leathur records, not the Electra release. If you have one or see one in the wild please let me know

Do you care which release? There were 3 releases of that title. Checkout https://www.discogs.com/master/94249-M%C3%B6tley-Cr%C3%BCe-Too-Fast-For-Love for the one you're looking for. Scroll down a little and you'll see the one you're after (the second listing is for cassette so skip that).

A good site to use is Discogs.com. The, if you want to say, drawback to Discogs is that most people selling on there are collectors so prices tend to be higher. It's a great resource though.

#7464 2 years ago

Yes, Discogs is your best choice for finding a specific pressing.
Like said above, prices will be on average higher as its serious collectors, but for a Grail record it's worth it..

I finally broke down, and bought off discogs my Black Sabbath Live Evil, First Japanese press.

It's a great tool for filling the gaps in a collection.

#7465 2 years ago

Huey Lewis on Harmonica !

THIN LIZZY, Live And Dangerous, 2LP, Japan pressing with Obi and insert.

With the rad Roger Dean Spaceship Vertigo labels.

Just a perfect live album.

Continuing with the Live rocking groove...

SAMMY HAGAR, Live in Austin Cruisin & Boozin, 1977, 1 LP.
This popped up a year or so ago, early Solo Hagar Radio Broadcast, great set of rare early solo songs.

Great sound, and performance.

Ufomammut is the be all end all of the whole super heavy super trippy tight doom of the last decade IMHO.

Fn cool dudes. Amazing artists.

So much heaviness.

So much good art they have put forward to sooo many good bands in the form or tour posters.

Malleus is the art segment

Just saw Volbeat and Ghost in Denver and picked up the latest Volbeat lp. They were fantastic ! Metal meets Rockabilly and pop hooks. They sounded great as well, especially in the Ball arena (20k cap). They did a version of Ring of Fire by J Cash that really rocked the place.

#7480 2 years ago

Okay.............that post of the Budgie album? Good stuff.

And Ozzy "Speak of the Devil" with the OBI strip and bad ass Japanese writings?

O yes.

Yoo got the goods gonzo.

Tonight chilling on this groove. Vista Chino

I got to see Brant as a drummer when I discovered Fu Manchu, two Fu Shows at the Whiskey A Go Go on the King Of the Road Tour In 1998-.1999
Then the Fu opening for Motörhead is 2000.
Just a live monster of a drummer.

Fu Manchu, King Of The Road 2Lp reissue with 2 bonus tracts, yellow vinyl.

This might be Brants greatest moment, his performances on here are amazing.

FREE VINYL FRIDAY!

So I enjoy the Norwegian band Airbag. The guitarist from Airbag put out a few solo records. Upon getting my copy the one record (double album set) had some warpage to it. Doesn't impact play but me being anal I sent a return request to get a new copy. They sent me one and told me to keep the other. Since I didn't pay for it I would like to offer it up for free to someone that would enjoy it.

If interested, go to the below URL and you can listen to the record. The first track is just music, skip to 4:15 for the second track and go from there.

If you're a fan of David Gilmour it's worth a listen. This guy doesn't hide the fact he's a fan of Gilmour (his youtube channel is called gilmour-ish). Some great guitar work and great sounding music.

Airbag - https://www.youtube.com/c/Airbagsound
Bjorn Riis - https://www.youtube.com/c/BjornRiisMusic

So if you're interested .. shoot me a PM and be glad to share this with ya!
