Quoted from snyper2099:Yesterday was the Vibrators and The Yardbirds. Today is Last in Line.
+ on the Yardbirds. Never heard of or what to think of the Vibrators.
Quoted from HoakyPoaky:I just love it when new vinyl arrives in the mail, and this purchase was LONG overdue. So stoked
Decades old dead fan... My European tour album is nearly falling apart...
But the vinyl stays perfect!
Quoted from greatwichjohn:Worst album I have had to listen too in some time. Rhythm of the night by DeBarge, the only decent song.
LOL... great call!
Quoted from Fulltilt:Never heard of the Vibrators.
Neither have I. But apparently a lot of girls know about them.

With a very snap name. (:
Quoted from ssbodyman:Great find today sealed copy from 1990.
I always hated it when the record store put stuff in the sale bin and clipped a notch out of the cover or cut the corner off.

I picked up a sealed cut out of Point of Entry by Judas Priest. Sucks that they took the notch out, but in the end as long as the record isn't damaged.

Never understood the point of that. But yeah didn't stop me from buying them.
Hey pinside vinyl club, check out my 100% vinyl '80s Mix.
I took over 100 records and blended and scratched them all together into a continuous, hour-long pop/electro mix. Lots of 12" singles, promos, and other rare oddball records from the 80s with video game samples and stuff like that.
You can listen to/download the whole mix here.

I also did a video for the first 3 minutes where I show all the that records I used for that segment (20 or so) so you can get a visual for how all the records are worked in.
Here's the track list

They're going to love me at work tomorrow! LOL!
Thanks a bunch!

Nice. Thanks for listening.
By the way, if anybody has trouble downloading (as opposed to streaming the file) just right click on the mp3 link and it should start downloading.

I hit up Discogs day this past week... spent a fortune it felt like.

Cutouts aren't done by the record store, they're done by the record label. When they send promos out to record stores/radio stations/for review/etc. they'll stamp/print on them "Promotional - Not For Sale", but a lot of the time they'll just cut the corner/notch/punch a hole in the cover.
It's so you can't sell the free promo copies as new.

Right there with you, brother!
Quoted from NY2Colorado:Anyone planning on hitting up Record Store Day this year?
I usually do....this year the organizers promised some changes to the releases and, from what I can tell, they seem to be delivering. Fewer bullshit re-releases this year (still some though). Prices are still through the roof.
One of my favorite local record stores (Knoxville has five of them now!) just posted their annual live lineup for RSD. Richard Lloyd- Hell Yeah!:

I love how record store day is now saying "support your local record store, not flippers" yet still seems to artificially limit numbers which is the main thing that drives the flipping.
I had a few opinions about some RSD hype/commercialism...but decided to delete as it's too early in A.M. for that...

I got a chuckle out of that too. RSD is a flippers paradise and the reality of it is that the margins are so slim on these releases that any record store that gambles on making large purchases of RSD stock is likely to lose money in the long run. This year the margins have gotten a little better but the flip side is that msrp prices are up too. Most independent record stores will make a hell of a lot more profit from selling you their used stock than they ever will from RSD releases.

Well, I know I probably wont have the popular vote. But I won't go stand in a line at a busy shop to buy some RSD special item just because it was promoted that I should or that it is some limited item...
And I had to just look with a puzzled expression at the last RECORD store day item I saw on CD. Lol (I mean, its RSD, not digital download day, not generically music store day...just funny)
Yes, some cool stuff comes out on RSD, yes I love supporting local independent shops (vinyl, cd, etc)....
RSD started out seeming like an awesome thing to help promote your local shop, but just seems to have gotten more and more of a commercial day for certain specific items mainly.
I do appreciate the special deals, events, sales, customer appreciation, etc that are generously offered from local stores! And try to take time to stop in and support them (typically not when they are packed and usually buying used vinyl, maybe a new, not much RSD specific stuff).
I am glad rsd is there, as I am sure it makes a lot of money overall for the stores. I just see more focus and conversations on what company is releasing how many of what etc WAY more than talk about the local store itself...
Enough of a rant? Lol.

I saw Aldo Nova warm up for Sammy Hagar in 1982. Good stuff!
Quoted from snyper2099:And now playing this:
Love the Hollies. A band I never did get to see.
Still looking for Another Night on LP, only have the single.
