Nice haul, great change of pace to get 2 dozen lp's for the price of 2 or 3 new one's.

New vinyl storage in my guitar room. I’m reserving it for only Dead and Jerry Garcia LPs. Two good Dead and Garcia releases coming soon as RSD releases.

Good stuff my friend. Can’t have enough Dead vinyl. It may sound cliche but the Dead are like no other band...ever. Their shows are like a mystical journey with twists, turns, the expected and unexpected with maybe the best lyrics in rock music. On a good night it’s pure magic. I can’t tell you how often I get lost in their music and realize hours have passed.

But have you secured a copy of the very rare Dead "Sea Scrolls" LP ?

I was just showing one of my areas where I store vinyl because I like it and think it looks great. I wasn’t trying to “one up” anyone or brag. I have a nice collection but, by no means, do I have everything.

Nice vintage Record display stand! Very 60's.

A friend and I, made big order from Japan, amazingly only took a week for the box of 12 LP's and Laserdisk's to arrive.

Great seller off of Discogs. Good prices and mint wax, shipping $ was not bad if you ordered a bunch.

Here's the big one, Black Sabbath, Live Evil, 2 LP, Obi and insert, first Japan press. Vertigo label. DIO Sabbath at its finest.

The only concert I ever saw of them was in '78 at Cameron Stadium, Duke Univ.
I lost my job for skipping out and standing in line for tickets.

I've been wanting a 1200 for awhile. I decided to expand my range because the 1200's are going for stupid money. I found this on Facebook Marketplace. It was listed for $300. He had no way to test is, I told him I'd give him $150 as is. It was definitely a risk, and maybe too much for as is.

I plugged it in and it spins! I was pretty pumped it wasn't at least totally DOA. I hooked it up to my preamp and it works. The auto arm functions, but it drops the needle on the label instead of the first track. Hopefully that's an adjustment, I need to do some research. The speed was way too slow. The adjustment knob did nothing until it was maxed and that was too fast. I hit the pot with some Deoxit and I got my speed working. There doesn't seem to be a detent (is that the right word?) for center. I tried tuning it while playing the same track on my phone and got it pretty close.

This thing looks like it was in a basement for a long time. I'm sure every pot will need cleaning and lots of adjusting but I'm pumped. Any links to tips on cleaning and setting this thing up are appreciated.

I'd look through Vinyl Engine Forums and Audiokarma. Someone there will have some good model specific reconditioning info for you.

Congrats. Love seeing old gear getting a second breath.

Does the strobe light there (the clear pyramid-lookin' thing on the left) not work? Those 'dots' along the outside of the turntable - assuming your running on 60Hz - should tell you how the table's speed is.

The $3 been was good to me. The only exception being Ike and Tina had to pay up just a bit more for that one.

This turntable is totally new to me. I definitely need to do some research. The strobe works and I was able to line it up. It seems to fluctuate a little bit. I did see a video that suggested a fine tuning will move the adjustment to a different part on the pot that is less worn out.

I opened it up in various stages trying to clean things up. There is fortunately a ton of info online. The culprit for similar problems seems to be dried up grease. I went though a couple dozen cue tips, alcohol and deoxit. I kept getting more and more dirt on the cue tips, it was filthy. I solved the start switch problem (I had to move the arm before hitting the start switch for it to operate) , but not the auto start. It's still going to the label. I'll have to do some more research, but I feel like there may be a missing spring. I also feel like this needs a total teardown, not just the reach the parts you can half ass job. Either way, it's in tune and works manually. I'll call that a win for $150.

Hey, hey, Late night recommendation....
Got this yesterday, it was backordered, and just put this on for the first time.
Amazing.
Best version of Sorrow, I've heard.
Don't want to sound like an audiofool, but this 45 cutting is great.

Highly recommended.

Right time right place. With record store day coming up this weekend the place I was at didn't want to take any new purchases in. The guy that came in was insisted they look at his bin and the store was looking for quality. Pretty much they told the guy will take these we don't want the other stuff. The guy told him well you can keep all of it. After he walked out I said I assume the stuff that you didn't is now dollar been items. To which the guy said sure what the hell have a look.

After 2 days, probably 6 hours of tinkering, dozens of youtube videos and forum posts, I got the auto start issue sorted out. Every post pointed to the same part. I tried every type of penetrant, oil, and super lube. Literally hours trying to free up the part every single post pointed to. The part already has a small crack so I was nervous to mess with it too much. it seems unobtanium. I ended up forcing it free with a tiny screwdriver to clean the shaft. It cleaned up quickly after forcing it out of it's spot.

After sorting this out I plugged it in and start a record, no sound. Noooooo!!!!!! I was worried I messed up one of the tiny wires when removing the tone arm 65 times. Luckily I accidentally unplugged the preamp.

The auto start works perfectly now, really neat feature. Especially where my turntable is very close to the floor, this will make it a little more comfortable. I'm sure it needs some more tweaking, but after a little more cleanup I'm going replace my AT-LP-120. For now I'm going to swap the Ortofon Red in there. I'm open to suggestions on other catridges. I'll probably replace the audio cables as well, they seem like a cheap and easy upgrade.

Got my copy of the Sabotage box set today.

I guess they addressed the scuffing issues from the Vol 4 release, as I've never seen records that look this good.

Studio album sounds great. Only have my cd to compare to. Cover has a cool textured thing going on.

Only Listened to the first of 3 live LPs so far. Looking forward to checking out the rest tomorrow night.

My only issue is the label on one of the live LPs. Something going on where it looks like it wasn't glued on correctly? Almost like it got wet and bubbled up. I doubt it will affect how it plays.
