Ha! You got me doing some quick calculations..
I've vastly under counted my collection. I've got two of these Kalax 8 bins here. And this is only because of Covid, so I could have some records here. That's 900 hundred plus here. Christ!

So. ... mayby 2500!??? Total???
I had no idea.
I've got it bad.

I figured 1000 was low considering what's been posted so far. Respect the taste of your collection. I've heard about collecting multiples and glad I don't have that urge. When I upgrade I give duplicates to friends who don't have a copy.

Here's my record store haul from today plus Killer Mike listening to now from VMP.

Power man meets Holy Mountain!

I approve.
I need more Kinks.

#6555 3 years ago

LPBIN makes some great storage. Chisox turned me onto them.

I can honestly say I’ve never seen an Art Blakey and a Sleep album next to each other. Love it.

#6557 3 years ago

Still not a big fan of bluegrass but I went and bought vol 2 of this because the first was so good. Not disappointed.

I can't understand why I still only have one Sturgill album.

Quoted from Fulltilt:

Well after your post this week I realized I only have one Thin Lizzy album on vinyl. ONE. What an embarrassment I am to this group. Unacceptable.

#6560 3 years ago

Yeah, time to get after the Lizzy.
Here are some suggestions.

Love the Hounds.

Quoted from Fulltilt:

I have records stored all over the house. I’m completely out of space to the point I had to shelf some of my less valuable, throwaway type stuff on shelves to the basement.

I agree. gonzo73 turned down on to Brant Bjork which was a great recommendation. On my regular rotation now.

Love this album. So good!

Canada's other power trio!
You know, the forgotten one.
Triumph! Allied Forces 1981, Japan Press.
This has the hits, Fight the Good Fight, Allied forces, and Majic Power.

One of the great Heavy Metal/hard rock albums of 1981.
Classic album cover also.

Tangerine Dream, Force Majeure, 1979.

What can I say, I love it loud. They might hear me in Detroit City, tonight.

Holy shit, I used to own that back then. Great album. Haven’t heard it in ages.

Pinball repair? Old Bally caps?
Nope, just got back my Technics SA-700, 100 Watt reciever from the stereo tech's. Fully recapped, and ready to rock for another 40 years.
Fingers crossed.

Had to break out my CD player for Atomic Dog.

One last record for Saturday night.
Morricone Groove, Ennio Morricone. 2 LP color vinyl.

Really neat collection of Morricone source music, from dozens of films. The songs are the music you would hear in a party scene or on a radio. Not score, but real music in the films world.
Funky disco, psychedelic rock, love themes.
Really eclectic, fun stuff.

Well, I eventually made it to Parliament but I had a long detour through my Tower of Power LPs.

#6579 3 years ago

They do a pretty damn good Rocky Mountain Way...

Nice! Is that the original Canada press of RRM Triumph?
Never been able to find a nice copy, just US presses.

#6581 3 years ago

If I could tell.
Canadians can be hard.

#6582 3 years ago

Canadian import?

Yep, Attic records is the Canadian press, US press is MCA, and remixed by Ludwig, with different artwork.

Just say YES.
The Yes Album.
A near perfect album, and they only got better.
Starship Trooper is my favorite YES song.

YES, it is!!

Love Yesongs. Flashback to seeing them at the Omni in Atlanta. ‘76 or ‘77? First concert I attended where I could buy a scotch and watch a concert.

I was Front row center in Detroit on the next tour. It was the first time I stood on the barrier.

We ran from the entrance to the floor as soon as we entered...

I really fucking got into YES over the Summer. Loved Roundabout and Long Distance Runaround, but I’d just never dug in. Fantastic band!

First side is 1992 perfection.

#6597 3 years ago
Quoted from guitarded:

Agreed. Rollercoaster from side 2 is also one of JAMC's best songs. Ay the time, I thought Honey's Dead was a big rebound from Automatic (it has grown on me since). Darklands remains my favorite.....

Quoted from gonzo73:

Here's a good example...
Fu Manchu, Godzilla's Eatin Dust.
Original Mans Ruin press lower left.
Yellow swirl press lower right.
10 inch 3 lp version, color.
And two new copies up top, why two!? Why not.
Plus I've got 5 more copies of other versions at my other residence.
Stupid collector logic right?
And yes its a kick ass album.
[quoted image]

Nice! I have all of these as well. Lots and lots of Fu Manchu, can't get enough.

I loved Honeyman-Scott's guitar.... died at 25. Damn.

#6600 3 years ago

Yeah... Stax Records classic! This record had a lot of influence on the ska and punk scene, but it's all bluesy rock'n'roll and r&b!
