Quoted from waldo34:Feeling like some Iron Maiden tonight. Just brought home a IM pro figured this would be perfect while I'm setting it up.

I did a presentation on Zappa sophomore year in high school for a class I can’t recall that was to be 10 minutes long. I spoke about Frank for 5 minutes and then played a cassette version of Muffin Man for the other five minutes. My class was really scratching their heads after that one. Oh and I was really high when I did said presentation. Not much has changed since 1985 over here haha.
Quoted from Fulltilt:Yes, in '75 for some reason, I thought Led Zeppelin was a great choice for my story telling class.
Great minds think alike.

Speaking of which just pulled the trigger on a LZ premium today. Because, you know, it’s a fucking Led Zeppelin pinball machine! Can’t believe it took me this long honestly.

What a great title! I could play to just flip to the tunes.
The Premium was the LZ first album wasn't it? Best looking art package.
Quoted from Fulltilt:What a great title! And your cab art choice?? I could play to just flip to the tunes.
The premium is just blimpage. But it’s a spinner heavy game and I love spinners. Anyhoo, here’s more Frank!

Quoted from Impzilla:Taking the day off for my Birthday and going to catch up on some new items that recently came in.
Most are kind of heavy, think I will put a mothership side between the other records for some balance.
And, lots of pinball today too...

Congratulations on the birthday enjoy the Queensryche and pinball. Thats a perfect combo in my book.

Played it last week, loved it. That said I am a Steve R guy, lots of fun. I chose to play it with the volume up.
Quoted from Fulltilt:And Iggy Bowie gold.

If you haven’t done so already, check out Iggy’s most recent release - Free. It’s different, but in a really, really good way.
I was very close to pulling the trigger on a serviced Technics 1200 for $500 when my mother told me she had her old turntable from the 70's. What could it be?! I have very vague memories of it. Japanese name? I think it was wood not plastic. That probably describes every turntable from the 70's, ha! She said it was top of the line when she bought it. While that means something different for every income bracket I think there is a chance it's something decent. Fingers crossed, hopefully I'll find out this week. She has a stack of old jazz albums so I was thinking of getting her a minimalist setup. She doesn't have a ton of room and by no means is an audiophile. The AT-LP60 with the Edifier R1280DB seems to be a popular choice, I'm leaning toward that. Compact and easy to use. I've been happy with my AT-LP120 and I see no reason why she would care about the differences. Thoughts? Any guesses on the vintage turntable?

It's probably a top-of-the-line Silvertone she got from Sears.
Quoted from waldo34:Came across an Elvin Bishop, today, that I didn't own.
Elvin did the Radio Show immediately preceeding the one I worked on in Tucson. Super friendly guy. Always enjoyed hanging with him before/during the beginning of our show.

Very likely. Ha!

Swap out the stylus / cart for something a bit better and with a more forgiving profile and she will likely love it. Usually old, well worn LPs will sound better played with a conical stylus than a more modern profile.

LOVE THAT ALBUM! They're so much fun. Have you checked out Lucifer's albums?
Quoted from Fulltilt:Birth of the cool. It is Friday.

I think that was the first album I bought after I got a turntable. For me, there is no better jazz album ever. Not even close.

Needed to get a new copy as I realized that this year is the 30th anniversary of seeing the Building Empires tour.

Honestly one of the best tours ever.
Lovely Gal Costa reissue on Mr Bongo with the once controversial cover art. I’m not supposed to be buying records until May, but I went to this shop to have a couple records cleaned with their ultrasonic cleaner. Needed to throw something on to make it worth their while for me to use my card.
