My favorite JP album. That thing just rips from start to finish and is a desert island title for me.

Gillan, Mr Universe ,1978?
New pressing.

My favorite Gillan band album, much better known in the UK and Japan, the Gillan band did little north American touring, so many Deep Purple fans here missed these albums. Kind of a lost NWOBHM band. I've only discovered the Gillan stuff in the last 10 years.

Ian broke up the Gillan band, in 1983, joined Sabbath for the Born Again album and extensive world tour. Then reunited the classic
mark 2 Deep Purple in 1984.

Check out the title track Mr Universe, if you dig Deep Purple, it's very much a purple song .

Ha! So funny Kevin, I literally hadn’t looked at or played this album since college[30+ years], and the hair and glasses on the cover made it a ‘must play’ when I pulled it out. The second LP threw me for a loop, first I forgot it was there, then I wondered if I had collected 2 copies, then I saw and remembered your point that the second LP is 1 side repeated.

Regardless, it was a fun listen and had to share!

FYI, that new Foo Fighters album is pretty good too. Not quite Sonic Highways good, but another solid set of tunes from Dave and Co...

Not exactly the same, but I have a few multi-disc albums where the final side has an etching instead of grooves. Coheed & Cambria’s Vaxis Act 1 is the first that came to mind.

Another "not quite but similarly weird" - I have a double grooved 7" that has acoustic and electric versions of the same songs on each side depending on where the needle sets down.

one of the most extreme vinyls is Jack White's Lazaretto.

ULTRA LP FEATURES:

- 2 vinyl-only hidden tracks hidden beneath the center labels
- 1 hidden track plays at 78 RPM, one plays at 45 RPM, making this a 3-speed record
- Side A plays from the inside out
- Dual-groove technology: plays an electric or acoustic intro for “Just One Drink” depending on where needle is dropped. The grooves meet for the body of the song.
- Matte finish on Side B, giving the appearance of an un-played 78 RPM record
- Both sides end with locked grooves
- Vinyl pressed in seldom-used flat-edged format
- Dead wax area on Side A contains a hand-etched hologram by Tristan Duke of Infinity Light Science, the first of its kind on a vinyl record

I'm not a fan of Jack White but I might need to buy this just for the cool features. Do you need to destroy the label to play the hidden tracks?

I'm not either, haven't even opened it yet. Probably won't.
you play the hidden tracks right through the label.
Here is a video of all the cool stuff including playing through the label.

I should say, I'm not a fan of JW's music but I am a fan of what he has done/is doing for vinyl.

Oof, yeah I have a copy of that... it’s a royal pain in the dick to play those weird tracks. You have to be fairly sober to do it but fairly loaded to want to. It’s a balancing act for sure.

Sam at the Copa is a classic recording...that Tennessee Waltz could be another 30 minutes and it would still be too short.

Some old singles and EP's.
Fun stuff, as a kid in the 80's seeing all these Maiden singles was so cool. Finally got to start collecting them.

ElusiveDisc is my first stop for anything, though.

Yes it's worse than you can imagine. I'm a WHO fanatic, I own almost all the Daltry, Townshend, and Entwhistle solo albums, but not Moonies!

How do yours look, and sound?
