Quoted from gonzo73:

Look up the 2009 sabbath lawsuit, as of now Tony and Ozzy/sharon own Sabbath 50/50.

Nobody knows how that was settled! All confidential. I believe it had more to do with merchandising - if Tony was selling a Black Sabbath t-shirt ozzy wanted a piece of it.

And like I said, Tony always said it didn't shake out like that. According to him he owns the name. Heaven and Hell toured and recorded years BEFORE that lawsuit in 2009, so why wouldn't he have called it Sabbath at that point if he wanted to?

They even recorded two new songs in 2006 with Dio under the name Black Sabbath - Devil Cried and Ear in the wall. Pretty good songs - Devil Cried is great.

Sharon confirmed it last year in an interview with Steve O.
Stating,Ozzy Tony were equal ownership, and Geezer and bill were, just work for hire.

It sucks.

#6253 3 years ago

The devil cried is great, missed it when it came out, just found it a few months ago.

#6254 3 years ago

Yep, your right HH tour before lawsuit.
Just got the HH dvd of the Radio City show, amazing.

That bitch!!

I don't think it really matters much anymore anyway. Sabbath is finished.

I was at that show 10th row center!

It was sick. And my first exposure really to Dio Sabbath. I picked up the DVD as well when it came out years ago.

Love Sabbath! Love the Ozzy stuff, love the Dio stuff, even like the album they did with Ian Gillan of Deep Purple. After that it got to be somewhat comical, I’d see a new Black Sabbath album in the store and would look at the back cover to see who was in the band at the time, and it was never the same as the last lineup!

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I recently got into vinyl (rediscovering my 80's) and have a very simple set up. I have an Audio Technica AT_LP12OXUSB which I use with Micc PB42X bookshelf speakers.

Now this set up was good more me as I would usually listen to my records when the house was empty. However now the whole family is getting into vinyl and wants to hear the records at all times....even when I'm playing pinball or when friends and family are I the back yard BBQing....which I don't mind. The issue is that the volume is too low...even with the speaker volume turned all the way up.

What do I need to buy for a louder sound? Speakers have a built in amplifier, turn table has a pre amp and is set to "line."

Any help is appreciated

#6259 3 years ago

Most cost efficient would be to get a bigger set of powered speakers.

But, at a certain point you will want to get the most out of listening to LPs...as they certainly don't offer much in the way of convenience.

In that case, it is time to step up to a traditional stereo setup with a proper TT + Pre-Amp + Amplifier and 3 way speakers setup.

What would you suggest for speakers? Standing speakers that I can buy at say.....best buy?

#6261 3 years ago

As far as Powered Speakers go, you would get better suggestions from someone else.

I am firmly in the traditional / vintage stereo camp. If you are a pinhead, you can assemble a great rig on a budget off of local classifieds.

I made up my mind.

A fun way to look around is browse back through the 60 pages of images from this thread. Lots of cool stuff and ideas.

Deep trouble don't bother emkay . He is keeping his baby.

Back in ‘74 I carried the album over to friends that didn’t have it... it shows!
The vinyl is perfect!

Geezer, Bill, and Wendy DIO own nothing, except possible songwriting credits. If they held on to them.
This allows Sharon or Tony to veto any Sabbath project they dont like.
Message from the law firm Dewy, Cheatum, and Howe.

Not sure about the legal stuff. I got a chance to see Heaven an Hell on it's last go round, and it blew the last couple times I saw Black Sabbath out of the water. Ozzy is great and a all time legend, but damn, he just didn't have it in him, compared to Dio.

For anyone who's still looking, Colemine is repressing their Soul Slabs Vol 2 compilation. It's been discussed in here previously and is well worth picking up.

We were watching Always Sunny last night and the outro music was a ripoff of Danse Macabre so i had to put this on. It wasn't as blatant as I thought but definitely an homage. Followed up with some Johnny Cash. This was probably a flea market find, it's in rough shape. I'd like a better copy. I'm not sure if a recording exists without the bleeps for language. That would be even better.

There are multiple versions, one is lenticular cover, don't know all the differences.

For whatever reason I've never purchased Frampton comes alive. For $2 the time seemed appropriate. Just finished side one, and wondering why I deprived myself of the listening pleasure.

Jazz Saturday here, too.

Lou Donaldson : The Blues Walk on Music Matters 33 rpm (SRX).

This one is neck and neck with the AP 45 rpm for sonics. A great quintet set for a cold winter day.

I highly recommend the Vinyl Moon subscription if you listen to alternative/indie. Like receiving a mixtape each month of up n coming artists. Except it’s on beautiful vinyl. Gorgeous art all around.
