Lol I’ve probably listened to that album a couple dozen times and I’ve still never bothered to listen to the bonus disc
Been working my way through a shipment of VMP LPs that came in this week.
Kool and the Gang, Donny Hathaway, Etta James...all of them sound fantastic.

Sounds like a good group of records.

I don't think it sounds as good as the 12"
Quoted from waldo34:First up tonight is Johnny guitar Watson, Don't hear him talked about much but I think the guy is great.
You better turn out to be good on guitar if your parents make "guitar" the middle name on your birth certificate.

It was a nice box of LPs. Also included the Bethlehem Records Set they put out. Very nice assortment of great Jazz pressings.
Yikes...that is ambition right there.
I have a Scott 299B in the basement that needs new caps and I finally found a source for the right ones. Not wanting to tackle the swap myself, though.
Quoted from emkay:Been waiting for this one for a while...
It is REALLY good, imo.
Pissed I slept on the VMP Edition. Gave it a second pass last night and I enjoyed it more than the first.
Then followed it up with Ben Pirani.
Nice combo.

Yeah, I’ve had a hard time not buying everything from them lately...

It involves replacing the board with a new one thus eliminating the obsolete 7199 tubes.
Also eliminating the rectifier tube and can capacitor.
I hope I can handle this project.
Pray for me.

He is one of those guys that was great for his whole career, but for different reasons, the 50's rock stuff is really nice, and his funky ass 70's stuff is great too.
Quoted from emkay:Another one I’ve been looking a long time for.

It's a nice repress, very quiet. I have both of those on vinyl too, still need Pedestrian Verse, Sing the Greys and most of the EPs.
Ever check out Owl John or Mastersystem?
And yes, I was absolutely gutted about Scott. Not a week goes by that I don't think about him.
How about this (pulled from my collection) novelty recording?

My hundreds of LPs (all stored vertically) basically fall into one of two categories:
1) new LP cleaned with a Discwasher and played once to record onto cassette.
2) new LP opened to read liner notes but never got around to ever playing it.
Quoted from littlecammi:How about this (pulled from my collection) novelty recording?
I was just thinking about this one in the past couple weeks. When I was 7 or 8, the neighbor kid had a compilation record that was entirely video game songs. This one, Mr. Roboto, etc. I meant to look it up, thank you for the reminder!
Queued up for tomorrow’s listen.

Yes, it is. And yes, I do.
Some days I have to remind myself.
This arrived this week. I thought it would be the exact classic clips & songs from the show, but it’s actually all-new Billy West recordings. Nice trip down memory lane, just not quite the same.
Happy Happy Joy Joy! The 2020 documentary on Prime was pretty eye opening as well.

I'll have to check that out! My teenage daughter loves to watch R&S with me but my wife can't stand it.
Just got this..
Warren Zevon, 2LP, Live in boston 1982.
Recorded on The Envoy tour.
The end of Warren's peak years, soon his mental and drink problems would spiral out of control.
MTV recorded a one hour live concert in New Jersey on the same 82 tour.
You can watch it on YouTube.
Great show. All of Warren's hits from 70's and early 80's.
Genius songwriter and performer.

Wish there was more in these. Not sure it's worth it already owning nice original copies.
Only 11 more days till the Vol 4 box set is released. Ordered that.

Heaven and Hell, Mob Rules last official Warner pressings were both 2009. And of course sold out quick as the vinyl revival was still several years away.
I blame Sharon, or as I refer to her as the Evil C@%t. I believe she and Ozzy have veto power on the Sabbath name, she got this power in the Reunion negotiations.
Which is why the subsequent Heaven and Hell reunion was not titled Sabbath.
The Ozzy Sabbath LP,s have had 4 separate pressings in the last 5 years.
Plus the ultimate 4lp best of.
She likes to pretend us DIO fans dont exist. You all know how she treated the Blizzard of Oz band, erasing thier performances.
Greedy, selfish, shortsighted witch! Like father like daughter.
Long Live The Memory Of Ronnie James Dio!

I don't think this is true at all. Tony Iommi just didn't see the point of resurrecting DIo Sabbath and still calling it Sabbath - The Ozzy Sabbath was an on and off concern for about 20 years starting in the late 90s and there was no need to confuse people, especially since they were playing ONLY Dio Sabbath with the Heaven and Hell group. IF that group played the Sheds as "Black Sabbath" you probably would have had a lot of annoyed customers expecting to see Ozzy singing NIB at those shows, like a couple summers earlier.
That's what Tony has said anyway in interviews back then.
I know Sharon is evil but she doesn't control the world.
I was really ignorant of almost all Sabbath post 1978 - just thought of it as a different band and didn't really interest me. That changed when they did the Metal Masters tour with Priest, Motorhead, and Testament. I probably saw Heaven and Hell about 7-8 times on that tour and Heaven and Hell's tours around the same time and I really got into those tunes. Great stuff!
Look up the 2009 sabbath lawsuit, as of now Tony and Ozzy/sharon own Sabbath 50/50.
Geezer, Bill, and Wendy DIO own nothing, except possible songwriting credits. If they held on to them.
This allows Sharon or Tony to veto any Sabbath project they dont like.
