Al Green, now we're talkin'!

Spinning Aretha's 'I've Never Loved a Man...' tonight. VMP Edition. They did a nice job on this one.

The story is that Eno listened to Afrodesiac over and over during birth of Remain in Light.

Just a run of the mill 1980s issue of Some Girls. Great album! I bought this new in high school at Waxie Maxie’s.

Going to a friend’s little cookout on Long Island and he said he had a couple maiden duplicate LPs to give me so figured I’d bring one of my doubles. (The other copy is the cool original press with the cut outs)

Some Girls (I agree) is a classic. Strange thing about that original (all faces) cover, so far I have found those covers with eight different arrangements of the green, blue, yellow, and pink colors on the front. Actually I guess there are nine variations if you include the washed out colors on the "under construction" version and the re-issues.
Another odd thing about that album, If you have an original 8-track cartridge give track 4 a listen. Beast of Burden is a full minute longer (5:30) than the LP.

Was excited to get this in the mail yesterday and just my luck a storm knocked out power just before I got home. So just now getting a chance to play it 15933070155955805408346167876684 (resized).jpg

Not a bad Thrift Score! Other than Pink Floyd and A Flock Of Seaguls the rest of the picks were $1 each.

Breathe, breathe in the air
Don't be afraid to care
Leave but don't leave me
Look around, choose your own ground
For long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all your touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be......

Bandcamp had a sale a while ago, they were waving their fee and certain labels there had their own sales. I looked through a lot of stuff but didn't find much of interest. Then I found BBE who released a bunch of awesome comps over the years, like funk spectrum. They had an additional 40% off so I picked up a few things, which finally arrived today. A funky disco comp, and classic reissues from some funky Liberian guys, and grimey salsa band from 70's NYC.

Something a little different this evening that I picked up at the Goodwill. Couldn't resist as I'm a big Humphrey Bogart fan.

Anybody interested in a near new mint condition blue Orbit Plus?

It’s a fine player and looks cool but I am getting my old 70s Yamaha repaired.

Really it’s a cool machine and sounds fantastic. I just prefer a fully automatic turntable.

This has the mid level cartridge and I upgraded to add the Cue Lever.

Ha yeah...don’t let the audiophile community know the record player is a foot away from the ac I’m sure they’ll hang me in effigy.

These are the lunatics who killed the fully automatic hi quality turntable!

With tax and shipping + cue lever it was almost $400.

I’m thinking $300 plus shipping. I’ve had it about a month.

If anyone is looking to unload a bunch of 45’s, I would love to buy more popular “jukebox” lots of 70’s rock,80’s punk+Metal, early 90’s rock. (I have too many 60’s 45’s.). Send me a PM.

I’m going to post pictures of my latest find in a minute.... This will all make sense when I post it.
Thanks!

Behold, the Silvertone Syntronic 4 Speed Automatic Model 263. It is driven by two 7025 tubes. It came with a plastic 45 stacker. The stacker design is much better than the BSR ones... it’s plastic mechanism is smooth and does not damage the spine or labels of 45s. It is 2 channels and the 2nd channel uses a single RCA out. It really thumps with modern speakers. I had a lot of fun cleaning it up over the 4th of July weekend and got to play some Zeppelin and Bowie on it.

I have a stack of 45's I got in a lot of records that fall into that category. Unfortunately they were stored poorly. I'll see if I can get some pics later.

Love the original with the embossed cover. Got this today after losing it in High school.

My favorite sabbath album. And it just sounds better this way.
