Quoted from guitarded:I repair a lot of these. Like was previously posted, odds are you only need a clean and re-lube and to have your motor properly cleaned and lubed.
They are pretty simple mechs and at most will require some heat to get apart. Then, clean and re-lube.
Nothing a Pin Guy should be scared t tackle.
Thanks for the pep talk guys but it looks kinda complicated. But yes I could just take it apart, take a lot of pics, and see what's up.
I doubt it's the motor that works fine, it spins fine. It's something in the auto mech I'm pretty sure as the thing that is supposed to move the tone arm no longer works. I suspect a broken linkage or something like that.
I really do love that turntable. I like the new one, it sounds great and looks cool, but it's just not as fun to play with as the Yamaha. This audiophile "fully manual only" snobbery kind of annoys me. There really aren't any good automatic turntables anymore, the autos are all cheap shit, and the good stuff is all fully automatic.

There are a few great services restoring Duals and Thorens out there.
FixMyDual comes to mind right off the top of my head.
I usually keep a Semi-Auto in my setup along with my VPI. The convenence of being able to walk away from the deck is a nice one to have.
Another option is a reconditioned Linear Tracker like a PL-L1000. Not nearly as good looking, but great performance for the oney if you can find a good one.
I have a friend who restores Pioneers I can ref you too, also. Lotta options out there. Feel free to PM if you would like refs / numbers.

You could just drive over and see what these guys might have on sale. I've bought several things from them. So far, excellent service.

Cool I'll give them a call. Also found another shop closer in midtown, they do all vintage audio repairs. I also need a pair of Advent large speakers refoamed so looks like a twofer.

You ever see those crazy B&O auto turntables, with a laser to figure out when the next song is so you can skip or go back? Apparently you could use with a B&O receiver and could control it with a remote.

Oh, yeah. I remember watching salesmen in the showroom tossing them back and forth while they played, too.
Nice units, if you can find a clean one and a tech who knows his way around them Beomaster systems are super cool. I restored one with a Manual armed table to give my father about 5 years ago. Cool as hell.

Tell me about it.

We can tell
This dream's in sight
You've got to admit it
At this point in time that it's clear
The future looks bright
On that train all graphite and glitter
Undersea by rail
Ninety minutes from New York to Paris
Well by seventy-six we'll be A-OK
What a beautiful world this will be
What a glorious time to be free
Quoted from guitarded:Maybe try checking out Black Market Brass Band?
Good call!

Those guys put out some amazing LPs
ORGONE - Undercover Mix Tape is spinning this AM.
Quoted from guitarded:I hope that wasn't your only copy of Off the Wall.
First side on that thing is immaculate.
I have that one on CD and digital. I love the Wall but I haven't listened to that LP in probably 20 years. Bought it for a buck lol. I do have two copies of Beastie Boys Hello Nasty (no idea how that happened), I kept the gold vinyl version.
Vinyl Vault Tony did well on the trade, it's his business. I just wanted new stuff to listen to, those records i traded were ones I haven't touched in a decade or so.
Listening to Tres Hombres right now, it's freaking awesome!!
I also bought Ozzy Speak of the Devil, Santana, and Twisted Sister from him a few days ago. Decided I'd be better off trading him unwanted LPs next time. Cool guy. And fun to be “shopping” somewhere for the first time in months. He has a cart he wheels out to 42nd street but I met him today at the storage facility as it was raining.

Original London Blue Label? That one is killer.
The Jalapeno Green Rocktober issue is badass as well. Great LP.

Yup! Blue label London. I can't believe how great it sounds! What an awesome album.

Is this one of those albums that was out of print for years except remixed with 80s fake drums and reverb?
Crime against nature that was!!!

I thought that was Rio Grande Mud, did they do that to multiple albums?

the first five!!!!

I think so. The later copies all sucked and until the Rocktober Reissue and the Cinco Boxes came out, a clean London Blue label was the only one worth listening to. And hard to find in VG++ or better condition. Because it really begs to be played.

Oof! As a balls out buyer of cds in the 80s I find this embarrassing and apologize profusely.
After searching far and wide for a good quality copy of this on vinyl because it was only released on CD in the states I finally found a respectable priced version from a seller in Brazil a month or so ago. Unfortunately getting it stateside has been tough with the postal embargo relating to shipments into the states due to Covid but it finally made it to my doorstep today, the wait was totally worth it and I can finally cross this one off my bucket list. <3

One band I never got to see back in the day and from the sounds of it, never will.
Gotta' be one of the best ever.
Quoted from Fulltilt:Not exactly vinyl but that's what it's going to be used for. My first 15 ips machine.
For once a great late night alcohol + internet adventure.

I'm genuinely envious, been hoping to find that for a long time. Still listen to it digitally on a regular basis. Goodnight Song is one of those perfect pop songs...
Great score.....except for 2 they are like brand new, not a mark on them. Took a chance unseen at an onlone auction and was fully expecting lots of kife at the price I scored them for. Middle row is pure Canadiana...thd man cave will be loud tonight.

Hah! Is that an original or reissue with actual peeling banana? I have one but the banana simply won't peel.
Picked these up today. Nothing too special but looking forward to listening to them. No idea if the accept album is any good but I love the cover
