About time. They haven’t released an album in like 5 months, must have gone into some sort of creative rut haha.

Nice boot! I've been hoping to find a copy of that for less than $40 landed but I might have to bite the bullet.

Seriously.. what was it, five full studio albums in 2017? They're a bit ridiculous. Still fun though, I'd love to catch them live one of these times. Hopefully they'll come through with ORB and Stonefield again.

The wife and I were watching Se7en a couple weeks back for the umpteenth time and when the credits came on we both said “we gotta get that version of Hearts Filthy Lesson” so my wife started searching and found the album on EBay, we bought the last copy the seller had. Not bad $35.45 shipped.

Is the soulwax mix any good? They usually do killer stuff.

It is good but bore very little resemblance to the original. I really liked Emika - Let’s Dance!
Hump Day Thrift Scores, I was shocked to find a copy of Security in the wild! I had to order my pristine copy from a seller in South America a few years ago, now I have an almost equal condition player copy. Pretty nice haul for under $50.

Nice play, just added it to the want list.

The Flirts! Good find! The best thing I'm likely to find in the thrift stores by me is the occasional Spike Jones record.
Quoted from guitarded:If you are gonna grab a copy, find the Intervention Records Re-Release. Sean makes great LPs.
Damn it to hell. I need to do more research before I buy. This pressing is just ok of an album I know was recorded pretty damn well from what I remember from my CD.
Quoted from LukyDuck:Anyone own Red Rider - Neruda? Wish I still had my copy on vinyl. Only have it on CD.
As far as siam aware Neruda was the 3rd album and was released in 83.

I still listen to regularly. I don’t know why, but it is something I have always been attracted to.

Red Rider was a great band.

I see he did Altered Beast too. Oh and those two Flying Burrito Bros... this thread is getting expensive.

I can't endorse his Joe Jackson Re-Issue Campaign highly enough. It's unbelievable what they were able to do with those Tapes.
The Burrito Bros LPs I can also heartily endorse as I own those as well.
But the J. Jackson LPs (Specifically the 1st 2: Look Sharp and I'm the Man) are insane improvements over any previous source in any domain. Night and Day has always had really good copies available, but even so, the Intervention is the better sounding Mastering.
Sorry. I didn't mean to hurt your wallet, so.

It's all good, I needed to get to $150 for free shipping.

Awesome to see some rock’n Aussie tunes make it your way

As you said to me, My man Grover.
I've been regularly buying vinyl for about the past year... much less now with covid at the local record stores, but still through Amazon and VMP. I may have to chill a bit on Amazon though, I've had some rough experiences lately. One album it took them 3 times to get it to my door, first time was the wrong record, second time it was lost in transit, third time it was finally delivered. Yesterday I'm sitting out on the porch and to my amazement the Amazon delivery guy walks up with my record, shipping label on the shrink wrap with no box. I've never heard of anyone delivering a record without cardboard packaging.

Not a first for Amazon. They are all over the map when it comes to shipping / packaging. They do have a great return policy, though.
Checkout ElusiveDisc as a great source for Vinyl. IMO, they are the best at what they do.
Forgot to add : There is also a Reddit Page for Deals on Amazon Vinyl. Those guys post all of the algorithmic anomolies that list LPs for crazy cheap prices. You gotta be fast, but you can score some amazing deals if you keep an eye on it.
Quoted from MMP:I've never heard of anyone delivering a record without cardboard packaging.
Keep in mind with Amazon they're now opening all kinds of local distribution places so I am going to assume here that you being in Raliegh they have one and that's where your order was fulfilled so it's basically coming from the local dist Center so they don't actually ship the record. It goes from the local dist center, into the delivery van to your door. It's not actually shipped.
Bought this to replace my 70s Yamaha which just shit the bed (auto function doesn’t work correctly, noticeable wobble in audio).
It sounds great but honestly I miss the fully automatic operation of the Yamaha. I found a shop here, May see about getting it fixed. I took a look under the hood and it’s like NOPE.
PIcs are the new table (orbit) along with the old one (including the batshit crazy auto mech stuff)

Choose a reliable seller. (Feedback is generally accurate here) I’ve not had a bad experience as yet. Shipping may not be Prime fast but selection and even price can beat Amazon

I would definitely get the Yamaha repaired. 99/100 an old turntable will be gummed up with old grease. Both the spindle bearing and the auto mechanism gets affected. Clean off the old grease with isopropyl alcohol and regrease with a lithium grease and it will be good for years.
So after all that fuss Amazon delivered my replacement record in a bubble mailer and it arrived more trashed than the first record. I am done with them for music.

I repair a lot of these. Like was previously posted, odds are you only need a clean and re-lube and to have your motor properly cleaned and lubed.
They are pretty simple mechs and at most will require some heat to get apart. Then, clean and re-lube.
Nothing a Pin Guy should be scared t tackle.

A little different but similar. I had my Linn crap out a while back. I thought for sure the motor had bit the dust but after some web reading research turned out it was a bad power supply. Pretty easy fix. (But the LP12 is about as manual as they come).
