Nice.
Yeah - Clean Records are a big improvement.
I wish I had bought my RCM 10 years earlier than I did...
likely one of the best upgrades you can make in your playback equation.
That Curtis LP is a great one.
Working my way down the Mosaic Box Set Shelf, today. The Complete BN Grant Green and Sonny Clark Sessions going right now.
Mingus up next.
That sounds like a nice way to spend your Sunday, Guitarded.
I can't get over Mingus, ever.
I spent the morning with Errol Garner. A clean version. What an improvement.
Curtis is certainly a great album, but so far Superfly ranks higher. Subject to change...
Quoted from Thunderpants:3 new additions, all great album re issues. I'm especially fond of Marcos Valle. That one has been out of reach for years.
The Spin Clean also came the other day. I'm impressed with the quality and awesome results on old records from 50s and 60s. some play like new!

So weird seeing those records in new condition!

One of the best conceptual albums ever made (IMO). Although the album made the charts it wasn't given the credit it deserved. What always got me about that bands early albums was the fact that they appeared to be overly produced but then they would pull it off live. The singer had a phenomenal voice, unfortunately no longer!
Quoted from Jam_Burglar:So weird seeing those records in new condition!
Yeah, I'd love to own the originals, but Marcos Valle is quite pricy.
Lonnie Liston Smith's expansions is up in a couple of days. Re issue too.
I built an attachment to clean records in the ultrasonic awhile ago. I cleaned a few records with great results, and never bothered with the rest of the collection. Is anyone else doing this? I bought some Triton X-100 but I can't find the recipe for the cleaner. I know it was distilled water, isopropyl alcohol and the Triton. The thing I never figured out, and probably why I stopped using it was rinsing and drying. Any tips? I'm working from home and could easily swap out records all day.

This was their peak, in my opinion. Empire was pretty great too, but if I can have only one...

Dirty Looks album - so goood!!!
What record cleaning system do most people recommend? I could really use one, but don't want to break the bank either. I'll have to look around on amazon.

Either get a Spin Clean or an Orbitrac if you are on a budget.
If you can afford a bit more, and have sufficient numbers of LPs to justify it, you can usually find a good deal on a used VPI when someone upgrades theirs.
Also, lotta recipes for homebrews out there as well.
Quoted from electricsquirrel:I'm real happy with my Spin Clean.[quoted image]
Does that handle 45's? (I mean, in the US, with the larger spindle holes.)

Spin clean does 12" 10" and 7" just fine
I'm not sure Shellac likes the cleaner though?
Spin clean does a good job. I'm not sure how it compares to ultrasonic.

I’ve had one of these for about 10 yrs. Does good work but if you can find a used VPI in your budget that would be your best bet.

Quoted from Chisox:Finally couldn’t fit another album in my LPBin. Now to get 500 more to fill up #2.[quoted image]
Say, did you buy that cabinet or build it? I am looking for a better solution right now, I have some storage in the cabinet for my record player, all the rest of my records are in metal crates, which don't seem to be damaging them, but I don't really like it. Also, getting down to some really crunched out garage b-sides today!

edit: I figured it out about 2 seconds after I posted this, lol. A bit pricey, but I think it might be the way to go.
Quoted from Chisox:Just got this today, one of the best albums released in the 90s, and one of the best sounding hard rock records I’ve ever heard. Usually hard rock/metal albums are a hot mess but they really engineered this one nicely (to my ears). This Music on Vinyl pressing is fantastic too.

I did Angel Dust once.... I don't remember if there was any music playing.

Same here. One time. All I remember is going to the movies and now that I think about it that's all I remember. Some dick head put it in a joint.

So did I, 1986. I swear there was music playing.

I've wanted this & AIC's Jar of Flies for a long time, just haven't pulled the trigger. I love the quality on all my Music On Vinyl purchases so far.

I pre-ordered the MFSL version. One of the few times I didn't double up, too. Too bad for me.
Would love to A/B the MOV / MFSL version one day.

I didn’t even realize there was an MSFL version of Angel Dust. That’s gotta be killer. Waiting on my MOV version of King For A Day to arrive.
The MFSL sounds amazing. Not one of their weird mixes. Got it forever ago...
and I really wish they would wake up to the potential of doing a lot of other 90s HTF LPs.
Quoted from Chisox:I haven’t busted this one out in years either.[quoted image]
That's some good stuff.
Quoted from Scrimmbo:I built a cabinet for my excess vinyl.
That green camouflage finish isn't working. I can still see the cabinet. Maybe if you put it outside among some bushes?
