I don't have a pic, but due to Kenny passing away, I have the Gambler LP - with the bestest artwork on the sleeve - playing.

Is he going to be cremated? I'm listening to Something's Burning. I think the pressing is a First Edition.

Released in '69 and I Soundguarded my album in '77.

Sometimes it sinks in how long ago that was!

Trying to keep it happy after a hectic week.

I think Stay Up Late is one of the talking heads most under rated tunes! I'm off of work for the next month, so I got some time for vinyl and pinball repair!

Holy shit, I remember that album release party at Medusa’s. 1986! Why did I look that up? Oof. Spinning some new wax tonight and having a couple of ryes. Cheers.

Wow, that's awesome man. I imagine Chicago in the 80's was a pretty cool place to be, especially if you're into Industrial. I'm too young, I was 3 when that album came out. It was still a pretty cool place for that in the 90's, we'd come down and see Thrill Kill Kult or Pigface or whatever, and it was always a blast.

I just picked that Gorillaz album up last week, haven't had a chance to listen to it properly just yet.

I remember buying a vhs copy of a revco concert at wax trax and Chris Connelly was working the register, sold it to me.

Here's one I am not sure any one has posted before. Hard to beat Ray. Check out that Musicland price tag of $3.39.

Almost busted this out last night. For some reason "The Heat is On" popped into my head while I was cooking. It may have had something to do with turning the heat on.

You know shit’s gone sideways when old Cure albums start to sound uplifting. I’m always surprised at how well this album was engineered/recorded.

Why? How hard can it be to mix down seventeen seconds of music?

I’ll admit, it’s a pain in the ass having to get up and flip the record every 8 1/2 seconds.

Red rocking tonight.

What is this... that stands before me? Was there ever a band who’s first song on their first album that ever encapsulated a band better? Hell no. They even named the song Black Sabbath.

I need that on Vinyl. Bad. One of the most unsung/underrated bands out there, they’re fucking awesome.

#5033 1 year ago

In the meantime I’m playing the Black Pumas for the 500th time in the last 8 months. Too lazy to take a picture.

#5034 1 year ago

Heh - I listened to a Glow in the Dark Copy of that this afternoon.

Beale St to Oblivion is on deck. I do love me some Clutch.

Need More..

Maybe this belongs in the confessional thread. I decided to give this Swords of Rage another listen while sober to see if it's as bad as I thought. Mushy guitar sounds, sounds like they are tuned down to an odd tuning, programmed drums sound weird, guitar solos sound sloppy, overall quality is awful. I found the download card to compare. Everything sounds much tighter on the digital version, much better sound quality. I decided to compare them side by side, doesn't even sound like the same recording. The LP has a slower tempo.... oh no. I couldn't be this dumb, could I? Somehow the pitch adjust slider was maxed. I think at most it was 10% flat, but that was enough to make it sound awful. I wonder how long it's been like this? Admittedly, most of the time I spin vinyl I've had a few drinks, but I'm a bit disappointed in myself.

Getting heavy this morning! Love BOC, their first few albums are god tier IMO. Too bad they hardly get the credit they deserve.

Love how T&M starts out with a double time version of the first song on their first album, The Red and the Black is so tight!

Reaper! Nice.
