Very similar to a couple ABT game layouts, but looks simpler so I assume earlier? Was just looking for other layouts featuring horseshoes:
Yep - searched ipdb for notable feature "horseshoe diverter" and caught several similar. None have the same ball collector/score system though.
There is a 1933 Pinball machine called "Silver Horseshoe" by field Manufacturing, but I can only see a reference to it in the guide...no pics that I have found yet.
Interestingly enough, there is another 1933 pin made by ABT that is simply 'Horseshoe". I realize it's not the same pin, but being made in the same year and with the shape of the horse shoes being very close to each other, I would almost bet one is a knock off of the other.
Interesting that there are not many pictures of any of the Field Manufac. pins - only a few advertisements. The IPDB entry for "Silver Horseshoe" says it's a copy of the ABT "Horseshoe" pin. I was hoping to maybe get the manufacturer by seeing similar bottom ends but no luck.
Only Field image I could find, but it does have a similar totalizer tray:

It at least demonstrates a similar concept for totaling scores. Still surprised that there have been no responses on a similar bottom end concept on regular pins.

That is a horseshoe and it IS silver by golly so I'm voting for that. Has to be it. Funny that the horseshoe on "Horseshoe" has a lot of detail and looks more like a real horseshoe but this one here is pretty plain.
