Anyone have a Stern Shaker motor to sell? Thinking of throwing one in to my XM Pro.

Can buy brand new at Playdium Store, but would rather save the tax and take one off a fellow member if anyone has one hanging around.

PM me.

Looking for Swords of Fury, and Checkpoint. Two checkpoints if you got em.

PM please.

#1767 9 years ago

Fiftyquid, if you need any help with shipping, I can maybe lend a hand. I am in Toronto, so not that close, but if you do come in to the city any time, I am happy to help.

Have a good rep here and PBRev.

Was just out at QuarterGrabbers last weekend actually.

#1806 9 years ago

Nice Spidey. Wish I liked the game more, but not enough to make the buy yet.

Either way, glws, it looks great!

#1808 9 years ago

VGC, sent your post to someone I know with an El Dorado.

#1812 9 years ago

PM sent Darscot

JPloof, if you find one in Toronto area, I can happily give a hand. libtech knows me well, and I have personally shipped him two games already (one is technically en route)

Glad to help if I can. No JD from me though. Sorry.

Quoted from QuarterGrabber:

I just looked at this ad. The back box has been painted black, the backglass is flaking a lot and no pics of the playfield. No thanks.

You looking for a dragon? I may be able to help.

#1939 9 years ago

Seen this pin. Great example. Great seller.

Quoted from aeonblack:

I might get him to do my SOF playfield, but, same thing as boris, I have a few touchups and whatnot that need to be done...I also don't know how nice taking off that mylar is going to be.

Forget about fixing it, and sell the SOF to me. =)

I am looking to buy a new pinball machine. Anybody in Saskatchewan have any leads? I am willing to travel to Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg if necessary.

Lots of great titles available. What are you looking for?

#2071 9 years ago

Would love a BDK, but cash is on the negative side right now.

#2078 9 years ago
Quoted from Spencer:

Hey Matt, no worries, it wasn't a pin. This is the second time in 3 months ive been bitten. The last time I brought the whole family, we stayed the night in West Ed, had some fun and in the end, the game was a POS. Thought I asked all the right questions, both times, guess not. Its a shame these people don't care if they waste others time.

If you'd like, I can answer all questions and let you drive to Toronto for real items if it makes you feel better

#2084 9 years ago

Got pics of Tom? What kind of price you looking for?

#2097 9 years ago

Contemplating trading up my X-men Pro. It has LEDs in all inserts, back panel and sub-playfield flashers. Installed 3 purple superbands. Also has brand new cliffy for scoop (not installed).

Game is very clean, never seen any abuse. Cabinet is great, playfield is perfect except for a TINY bit of chipping paint by the scoop, but the cliffy will more than cover this up. Updated to latest code, plays fast and smooth.

Coloured leds are matched from the hero ring to their respective shots, and the villains are also colour coded as well.

Not totally for sale just yet, but thinking about what I may want next.

First on my list is Metallica, if you have one and you want to do a trade +/- cash, Im all ears.

Any deals will be discussed in PM.

More pictures later, but here is a picture of the LEDs. They look so much better in person.

Hey folks....I'm looking for a nice Shadow or Fish Tales. Could trade a very nice minty mint NGG if anyone was interested. Many thanks.

As much as I totally disagree with these insane prices, I do have to point out one thing.

He is getting the attention he was after. Good or bad, we are all talking about it.

#2209 8 years ago

Now back on topic....

Anybody have a Star Trek Premium they may want to let go of this summer? Id go premium or LE, but would rather not spend extra on the LE.

Let me know.

#2213 8 years ago
Quoted from silverball0:

Nitro Amusements just had one turned in, give Tommy a call their in mission bc.

Hes had it for a while now. I spoke to him twice on it. Not ready to go that high if I dont have to. Im in no rush, and it would have to be shipped (which Im fine with), just would rather find one local if possible.

A few options coming out of the woodwork, but will wait and see.

#2218 8 years ago

I clearly said I am fine to have games shipped. I do it all the time. I was just hoping to save some cash by finding a premium as opposed to going LE.

#2222 8 years ago
Quoted from glauses:

what was the price on the STLE at nitro just wandering

9k. Very firm.

#2227 8 years ago
Quoted from pins4life33:

Its actually not that bad of a price for STLE, I wouldn't let mine go for anything less than 10K...

It is an ok price. Locally here they are cheaper. That being said, I am looking for a premium first if I can find one.

#2236 8 years ago
Quoted from Pauz21:

Appreciate the offer. Bought a year ago there was a pro in Calgary around the $3800-$4K range and that's probably the range I'd be looking at if I did make the jump to that machine. And I fully realize that may not happen but that's the dough I'm dealing with.

You are likely in the $5500 shipped range for one now. Depending on seller.

#2240 8 years ago
Quoted from libtech:

There was one in Quebec for 4600 a few weeks ago but it seems to be gone, I doubt youll see one under 5k as mentioned, our dollar sucks, and will push all prices up sucks because that means less machines for us all!

Still good deals to be had out there =)

#2245 8 years ago
Quoted from YKpinballer:

Yeah I have Shadow too, PM sent.
*I just bought a bar, so in the process of opening it in the next month or two. Hence raising some cash. Hate to part with my pins

Too bad your ST isnt a Premium, or youd have another PM

#2257 8 years ago

Edster, you got PM.

#2260 8 years ago

I responded hours ago. Likely a dupe fuse. sadly.

#2263 8 years ago

Fuse, I'll make you a deal. If it is truly real and HUO, I will let you get it for the 5k asking price and I will give you 6K next year. I will literally give you the profit guarantee on your purchase if you give me dibs

Pretty vague if you ask me, and they still arent his pictures.

Hello

Thanks for your interest in my STAR TREK LE PINBALL Machine.
It has never been involved in any accidents and has original paint ,everything is working as new .
The only reason i'm selling it is because i moved back to Denmark with my work.
Let me know if you are interested in purchasing it and i will give you more details .

Sounds like a scam to me

Yep, but for now Ill play along. Asked where i could see the game and how I can pay.

Waiting for him to use the old "send it to x company and they will handle packaging and shipping, blah blah blah."

#2291 8 years ago

I may have a buyer for your Batman Forever, but you would have to ship it to Toronto.

What were you looking for $$ as a trade is not possible for this person.

#2522 8 years ago
Quoted from jwilson:

Basically, if a game is still available after about 20 minutes on Kijiji, it's a bad deal.

Have to disagree on this statement.

Yes pins go fast when priced right, but lots of games last based on many other factors.

#2534 8 years ago

Hey MapleSyrup....

I may have something in the works for an ACDC prem. non luci.

#2559 8 years ago
Quoted from flashinstinct:

I was curious to see what kind of price he would give me and believe me when I say this "No pinhead / informed individual" in their right mind would have taken that offer. Let's put it this way they would have taken my IMVE with 457 plays on it and I would have had to give them more than $2K for a NIB TWD. I almost fell off my chair when I saw the numbers.

When you work the numbers, that really isn't THAT far off for a big retailer.

Think about it using basic non-negotiated numbers.

NIB TWD - $6495 + tax = 7339.35 (using 13% HST)

You say "more than" 2K, but let's round that off at 2k flat.

7339.35 - 2000 = 5339.35

This means, the trade value pre-tax was ~ $4725

If they want to turn around and list the game in their showroom, it is now a "used" machine. As a business that supports both new and experience buyers, they can't ask NIB pricing on it, so let's call it $5995 asking price

Anybody, new or experience will try to get a discount.

The $1200 markup from your trade to their sales floor comes at a cost

Paying employees
Paying utilities
Storage Space
The opportunity cost of having one other pin on site
etc.

While those costs, and other may be a small part of it, think about them making even $1000 "profit" on final sale. The costs of making that sale, whether they have the game for a day or a year are MUCH higher than the avg collector and private seller would incur.

#2560 8 years ago
Quoted from SuperPinball:

I'll give you $4001

$4005

and I'll store it at superpinballs place rent free

#2590 8 years ago

I never called flash stupid, and I used 2k, because if it was $2500 or ($2800 as you said was possible QG) he would say so. More than 2k alludes to less than $2.5k

Anyway, back to this thread and sorry for the derailment. All I was saying was brick and mortar retail will always need to gouge simply to cover overhead. It was bad business as flash originally stated.

I myself would never trade a game in to them, for the sake of knowing its usually a raw deal. Just giving insight as to it not being about poor business etiquette, but more-so business 101.

#2593 8 years ago
Quoted from Atomicboy:

Ok, one of the few threads that hasn't gone to the sH!Tz yet, let's just drop the whole thing. We all still like pinball right?

What is this "pinball" you speak of?

Never heard of such a thing.

#2601 8 years ago

Is it bad I have a list of games Id like soon?

Ugh.

#2603 8 years ago
Quoted from SuperPinball:

It's only bad if you don't have cash, space or both.

I have one of those two options.

#2606 8 years ago
Quoted from greatwichjohn:

I just picked up a WOZ 75th at the Pintastic Show from Jack. $9k US + $1k CDN to broker it through & tax. I picked it up myself, & had my brokerage done in advance. So $12k+ CDN pinball machine.
Recently I have talked with a number of Canadian Stern Dealers. We are all reeling from Stern price increases internationally & poor CDN dollar. That & some of us are getting a little annoyed with Cineplex-Starburst as our Canadian distributor. Personally my purchases have decreased 95% over the last few years as a dealer. Also doing free warranty service, & the hassle of paying to return defective parts. I have talked with Gary Stern numerous times over the years about it, & have given up. Maybe Heighway Pinball will be a wakeup call, along with other manufacturers towards pinball sales I Canada.

Off topic to this quote, but letting you know... PM SENT!!

#3000 8 years ago
Quoted from SuperPinball:

There are worse and more expensive hobbies to get into. Pinball is actually not that bad when you consider that they tend to keep their value. You can buy 10 pins with a $100K loan from the bank. Interest would be say $2.5-$3K for the year. You can sell the pins after one year and most likely get $100k back. Total cost is say $3k. Consider just one vacation for a family of 5 and you can lose $15k easily.

Take me on vacation =D

Blackbeard.... Always nice to see an extended offer.

If people dont like your price, then they wont buy. No harm in expanding your sales though. Dont be put back by some of the negative nancys here.

I always like to hear whats available to me, and if its something I want, and the price is fair, Id go for it.

Might be letting go of my HS2: The Getaway. Pf is perfect, inserts are nice and smooth. Game has been LED'd, Plays 100%. DMD perfect. Supercharger is strong. Has LED police light topper as dome was too tall for basement (but dome and all pieces will come with the game). Cabinet has some fade, but otherwise is good.

Game is located in Woodbridge.

Pics soon, as my phone died and waiting on new one to ship to me >=(

PM with any questions

Shipping available at buyers expense. I have lots of referrals if needed.

Just an update on stle here in Ontario.

Going rate is North of 8500 on average and pushing higher if modded.

-1
#3625 8 years ago

First off. I never got stle under 8k.
Second, I am not selling any time soon.
Third, if I got a good deal it doesn't mean all games follow suit. It means I got one at a price I fairly paid. The seller sold it to me and I was happy to buy it at our agreed upon price.
Fourth, I am not "price pumping" I am staying what most of these have gone for. The guys out west are paying 9-10k for stle.
Fifth, I am the last person on here that would be flipping a game simply to make a quick buck. I have more class than that.

Last. I don't know why you're panties are in a twist regarding me directly and stle specifically. If you want to talk pm me. This thread is for sales and minor banter. Get it back in topic or don't bother coming in here.

Btw.

Stle fs or trade. Asking 14,500 with all mods.

#3628 8 years ago
Quoted from QuarterGrabber:

First, I said 8k or less. Because I know it was for sale for $7200 and I didn't know how much more you had to offer the seller to weasel it out from under the original buyer.
Second, good for you
Third, you and a few other people I know of got "a good price" (without the weaselly part you had to do), that sets a trend
Fourth, you said that's what they go for in Ontario, which you know is untrue but you need to be the big man who knows everything. Now you change it to "that's what the guys out west pay", yes they do, but that's not what you originally said is it
Fifth, LOL!
Last. You know if I did what you did and offered more money to a seller for a pin that was already sold to weasel it out from someone else you know you would have your girdle and stockings in a twist too.
Who the hell are you to tell me where I should or shouldn't go? You're a no one, you're not the big man you think you are. And don't try and deny the slime ball move you pulled too, it's all documented in this thread. Mysteriously you end up with a STLE from the same seller as "mstellato" lost his deal from for $800 more
http://www.pinballrevolution.com/threads/not-mine-pinball-machines-for-sale.113/page-140#post-35907

I didn't weasel anything. The seller listed it, got tons of offers. Relisted it higher. Emailed back whoever he emailed and I made an offer on it. I had not been told it was sold. I had not offered over his asking price, in fact I offered less (when he listed at 8500). I also went to go see it and the seller told me I was the only person who actually came to look at it in person.

You seem to want to fight everything I say but I bought a game from a seller and the seller sold it to me. I did not ambulance chase it, I did not "outbid" anyone knowingly and I bought a game.

The seller should get flack for being a flake but I have no problem with you trying to stand up for whatever you want.

People on here might also wonder why super police on pricing just sold his twdle for more than 11 grand. I never knew that game commanded so much anywhere. Here or out west. Should I be angry at you? No. You sold it. You had a buyer for it. (Or should I say you had a broker get you a buyer for it)

Ryan, you have thrown shit around in here and I don't think I have a "big man" complex.

Keep throwing your punches online. I don't really care.

And yes, stle does go for that in Ontario. I know 7 other owners who all agree and paid that much for it. In fact, before getting the one I did I had made an offer on a different local one I was ready to pay 9k. Like I said, i just got lucky finding mine.

Lay off me. I did nothing wrong.

-2
#3635 8 years ago
Quoted from QuarterGrabber:

And as far as this "keep throwing your punches online" nonsense, I think you know me well enough to know that I would be more then happy to do the same in person so who are you trying to kid? I can go all night if you want or you can take it to PM, your choice.

Ok, you threaten a local member to break his hip, you threaten a different local member to smash in his face and now you threaten me physically.

Take a chill pill dude. You jumped all over me for a pin I'm not selling and bought legitimately. I'm sorry you feel so insecure. Most of the pins in my history are not my dads. Yes some are and yes my whole bio explains that. Always has.

Quoted from Edster:

Anyone outside of Canada have any pins they want to sell???

You can try the Michigan thread here : https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/what-is-for-sale-in-michigan-now-non-scammer-edition

#3654 8 years ago
Quoted from pinball_customs:

To be fair, I've been down this road before. Where I express my interest, and the seller replies with "I've been offered $XX for it but you were first. If you can match it, it's yours". Perhaps this was the case? I generally choose not to participate in that sort of game, myself.. because before you know it, the price has gone up by the time you arrive. Homey don't play dat.

Wasn't the case. But I've been victim to that too. Best is when you call their bluff and they relist because the original offer never surfaced.

#3661 8 years ago
Quoted from Bigbossfan:

This thread is degenerating big time. Lots of mud slinging and not a lot of content in regards to the topic of "Anybody in Canada have any pins they want to sell?"
I get some of the pent up frustrations here folks. Alot seems to evolve around the cost of pins and what they are worth/arent worth here in the Great White North. Couple of years ago, yes, absolutley it would be considered insane what some of us are having to and willing to shell out for a pin. What it all boils down to IMHO, is if someone wants a title bad enough, they will pay what the current market dictates, and like it or not, our dollar sucks balls and the ugly truth of it is, this has to be taken into account when pricing pins now.
I'll use myself as an example. I picked up a TWDLE for 7100.00 US about 3 weeks ago. Landed it's run me about 11K. Insane?? Yep. But it's a title I wanted and went after and accepted the reality of the situation.
Lets get back to having this thread used for what it was designed for....selling pins in Canada. (Besides, all this bickering will let those Yanks know that all of us Canucks aren't that friendly!!)

Well said

#3672 8 years ago
Quoted from QuarterGrabber:

I tried to take it to PM many times. Now hopefully it dies here.

You never sent me a PM. And the story libtech explained is exactly what happened.

Why do you suddenly have a beef with me? Ive invited you to my home on your travels to Toronto, and even offered you a bed to sleep in. I have never done anything wrong to you, nor have I ever tried to be a "big man" you speak of.

My big house? I live in a subdivision
My big car? You saw me driving a Nissan Quest minivan that wasnt even mine when I picked up IJ from you for my dads birthday(a 9 hour round trip).

At the Ottawa show, I shook your hand, you smiled and told me to play your stargate. I entered the tournament and played 2 games. one of which was yours, because you wanted me to try it out.

Send me a PM, or text me or even call my phone. You have my info, and thats where it ends. I dont weasel deals, I dont scam, and I have more class than any of the bullshit you have been throwing at me in here.

I bought an STLE with the help of a friend who sent an email. The seller chose to sell to me. I didnt outbid anyone, I didnt maliciously go after it. I just responded to a phonecall and ended up being the guy who went to see it.

Drop this topic, get back to games for sale and call it a day.

Quoted from aeonblack:

Someone sell me a TronLE and I'll sell my SOF (only room for 4 pins). I'm sick of all this talk, lets move some games!
On that point, if you have a machine that you are on the fence about moving, mention it here with what would get you to sell/trade it.

I would love an SOF and would be happy to take it off your hands. Unfortunately I do not have a Tron LE to offer. Last one I saw went to a good friend of mine last week. These things seem to be getting harder and harder to find.

#3675 8 years ago
Quoted from QuarterGrabber:

Read through the thread and see how many times I asked you to take it to PM. Anyways it dies here, unless you or your "good friend" have something else to say?

I will give you my last response with a picture of my FIRST response.

Enjoy your rage.

#3692 8 years ago
Quoted from aeonblack:

Well, I am a big fan of the color changing fiber optics on the LE, and I don't like losing game modes (daft punk on le). Static recognizer and standup targets over drops is a bummer but I suppose it wouldn't totally kill gameplay for me. I suppose if it was a decent price (and preferably heavily modded), I would expand my search to a Pro as well.

I side with going pro as well. You can mod it to have the el ramps. Lit recognizer (not moving but still nice). You lose drops but save on maintenance. You can chrome the standard trim and add the under playfield supports.

Only thing you can't do add is dp multi ball.

Not a big loss tbh.

No shaker, but in my opinion it doesn't do much on tron.

I have one in mine, but it's not as utilized as other games.

Quoted from MapleSyrup:

I have a Tron Pro (Not for sale, sorry), and my 2 cents is... I wish I had an LE. I don't think the difference between the two is worth the price gap, but there is no world in which the Pro is better than the LE.
I personally think Eli's Ramp kit LOOKS better than the LE's ramp lights. I love the translight on my Pro...
But I WISH I had DP Multiball. When I settled on the Pro, I thought I'd likely never see DP Multiball, so it was a non issue. However, once you understand the rules, Portal is quite attainable, and the times I've made it there, I wished there was more to do.
So, In the end, if money doesn't matter LE > Pro for sure, However price-wise... TRON LE= Tron Pro + Congo + Jungle Queen. I know the math I went for!

I agree with this whole heartedly. My explanation just didn't specify the costing.

Tron
HUO
3D translites / silk screen cab version
Shaker motor coin taker
Pinbits protectors
Coment leds throughout
Recognizer mod
Recognizer decal
Hooked Bumper Caps
Cliffys (ramp and playfield)
Light Cycle Hallmark mod
Metal leg protectors
I'm sure I am forgetting something
ST Pro
Floor model (not HUO) but came with 173 plays
Pinbits protectors
Shaker Moter
Cliffys

Hard question to answer in today's volatile market. But both easy games to move. I know two people looking for st pro right now

Don't get me wrong, I love getting a game for cheap, but calling sellers "greedy" for getting market value is a bit misplaced.

Sorry totally off topic but is there anyone in Toronto near Auction Maxx? Is this a real place? Anyone dealt with them? Don't want to buy from Calgary without some assurance it is for real.

Never bought from them before, but their brick and mortar warehouse is 5 mins from my office. So to say it exists is true, and it isn't small.

Whether that gives any validity to buying from them or not, I cannot help further

If you get in touch with anyone I can gladly go take a look for you one day. Just let me know.

Quoted from mwong168:

You sure you bought this new from SB? I guess your receipt from them will reflect this but I do recall you telling me this was their showroom model. You even had to wait a few weeks for their techs to fix a few small issues.
Regardless, very nice looking Metallica Pro and good luck on your sale.

It was the showroom model, but had not been on the showroom floor very long. The small issues included minor stuff that was typical of met pros. For example, the drop target, which I ended up fixing the whole mech after purchase. I waited because sb tech service is not fast, especially when it's not a paid job. (Was included in my purchase price, so it sat in the back a while.

#4575 7 years ago
Quoted from HoneyBadger:

If this was a floor model then you can't say you bought it new and is HUO. It didn't come to you NIB and was in a commercial establishment being played by many people. It is a great looking game however Josh and GLWS.

The plays were extremely low as it was hardly played yet. It was only put on the floor as it was the last non-led pro when the LED version was already available. The game was not routed nor was it abused in anyway.

Add to that, "huo" doesn't always mean pristine and beautiful anyway. I have seen many games that people have owned that have never set foot outside a home and look and play like garbage.

If you are interested in the game, send me a PM. If you are not, then thanks for looking and have a nice day.

#4577 7 years ago
Quoted from HoneyBadger:

I had a friend who saw this ad and was interested and mentioned to him that it wasn't HUO or bought NIB. That would not have been cool if he had been misled. Perhaps you should state that it was a showroom model in your original posting.

Original posting changed, but still stands in my book as original owner new condition. Based on the plays and condition of the game at time of sale, it was no different to me than another.

If huo means that much, than any game that has been donated to a show, played in a league, lives in a home with smokers or pets, or is has been in any kind of imperfect storage should be disclosed.

Also, their should be a log if cleaning, waxing, and general maintenance too.

It gets to a point where it becomes ridiculous. I've seen and owned routed games in the past that were nicer than other pins that were bought nib and only 6 months old.

As I said, take it how you will, and I'm happy to talk to any potential buyers.

#4581 7 years ago
Quoted from Darscot:

I'll happily vouch for Meegis, I've bought from him and everything is exactly as expected. Completely honest and upfront about everything, great hassle free seller. I put very little into HUO on any modern pin it means nothing. If you a true collector paying top dollar for machines from the back in the day then it's valid.

Appreciate the kind words.

Those that have dealt with me know how I work.

Thanks !

#4587 7 years ago
Quoted from HoneyBadger:

Then his should be considered lightly routed as he has hosted events.

And all my games were cleaned prior to and after those events. Which were non damage causing because if someone disrespects my games, they get a quick invitation to leave.

Why are my games being attacked in this thread.

Its getting a little off track now, and quite frankly is not why we are in this thread. For those who have dealt with me and those who may in the future, I provide pictures, and video if necessary, or I urge the buyer to come play the game if possible.

Now lets drop the bs and get back to games for sale.

I think everybody here is missing the point. The whole discussion isn't whether or not home use only pins are nicer than routed ones but the fact that it was originally advertised as bought new and home use only and it wasn't.

It was bought new. It came from the distributor.

If its because it was a showroom model, we go right back to semantics of plays and abuse.

Game was so recently unboxed, they offered to rebox it for me. I said no, as it was easier to pick up and transport without it.

Can you move on now?

The problem here (aside from the fact that this discussion should be in a different thread, not a fs thread) is the blurred lines of price fixing and advertising MSRP.

MSRP is what the manufacturer decides to be what the product is listed for. Whether the distributor's sell for that or less..... Or more.... Is up to them.

There are rules and stipulations on distribution outside boundary lines, especially when crossing an international border. This is a nasty area to discuss and a big can of worms with respect to warranty, safety standards, electrical etc (think Europe)

Then you get into the antitrust laws and price fixing. Which is illegal in practice, but very hard to prove in most commodities. The moment any distributor or reseller says they have the right to reprice, that argument is tossed. It is not the onus of the reseller to provide proof to you that they will discount, but rather they just have to say they do.

Buy 50 machines from any of these guys, I'm sure they will respond with some kind appreciation. Whether it be discounted games, or other products. This is where in the problem lies. You cannot prove anything and no one will really care until it's out of control.

Sorry for the rant, but buying retail will always be like this.

To touch on a lot of points made...

1. There are outsiders here from pretty much every province (and at least 2 territories) so getting help is recommended.

1. a) getting help would be from reputable and reliable pinside members (some have clout/tenure while others have made many deals with changing hands and can be sourced)

2. Always know what you're buying. Someone really in the hobby has no issue taking more pictures of the game or possibly even a video if it's a matter of gameplay.

3. There will always be a risk. From payment, to shipment, to transit right down to the unknown. Accidents happen and it can easily be pointed out as blame rather than understanding. Make sure you are covered (there are ways to do so)

4. As a caveat to what I and others have said. Mint is not always mint. And player games are not always player games. It works both ways. Everyone has their own definition. It all comes down to the precautions you take prior to making a deal. I once bought a game off route that was sold to me as a routed players game. It was stunningly clean when I got it and no damage, wear or any marks on it. The guy could have told me huo and it would be believable, though he was honest and explained. While on the other hand, a huo game may come to be terribly dirty, sat in the sun faded, stink like cigarettes if the owner smokes etc.

ALWAYS DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE.

hope that helps a bit.

#5424 7 years ago
Quoted from libtech:

Tough one, I'm usually just a trusting guy, talk to them on the phone if they seem genuine then I go for it. But it is a risk.
As mentioned, get lots of good quality pics, everyone's standards are different - even if you get a local guy to check it for you, so the best description is looking at all the photos.
On the other end of things when selling, I wouldn't take anything except E-Transfer either, since there are too many scams the other way as well.
The best thing is when shipping deal with guys on here, at least they have been around a while and maybe you've seen other transactions they have compleated that went well.

People who have games to sell should list them. If the price police post, ignore it, if you're truly too high, it won't sell and you can adjust accordingly.

Not listing because you don't want to deal with some crud just seems silly. Why should the good guys miss out an opportunity because they aren't posted.

The pro is the true LE. And i own an LE. Was impossible to find a pro. The mini playfield gets alot of hate. The only thing you need to do is deactivate the lock so the balls never stay stuck up there for the ironhide mini playfield mode. Secondly i found the star scream mech to be more fun than i thought because of the randomness of either getting the ball from the ramp or it getting dumped in the left loop. The drop target in fron of megatron also adds another level if complexity. Ive own both the pro and the LE. While the pro tends to be a bit faster, after owning both i feel you get a tad more on the le. Both are winners in my book.

I had a TFLE and agree with this explanation. It got a lot of hate in the past, but it's a long game and has a lot of decent shots to it.

The disparity from east to west is kind of funny too. I've seen two transformers sell in the last 6 months over here in Ontario (one to Quebec) and one combo sold at 6200, and a red le sold for 6600.

Not just the west.

Pinflation is a Canada wide issue.

Out west prices seem higher.

A TWD Pro with a couple mods sold here for $6800 recently.

Hard to gauge the market, especially with the dollar fluctuation and hobbyists trying to outbid each other.

The nice STNG is mine. It's amazingly nice. Nicest one I have seen. Mint cabinet, mint playfield, inside decals, extended outlanes, cliffies and ramp protectors, Cointaker LEDs', LED topper, super bands. It's a treat. I put in ColorDMD but willing to sell without (hoping ROM for Champion Pub comes soon). Also has the custom silly ROMs. I get the shipping hesitations. I bought 2 games from Edmonton, thankfully they arrived without a scratch. Shipping is a PITA. Too bad you don't live closer. I'm in West end Toronto, not Montreal.

And after you have it wrapped up, do you drop it to the depot and then they strap it to a pallet?
Help please!

I can provide some better instructions. PM me an email, and Ill try to give you a step by step pictorial with previous machines.

I find this hobby a double edged sword (read: multi edged) some people buy sight unseen, others methodically plan. Some pick out the tiniest of imperfections, others don't care about anything as long as the game looks and plays great.

No need to get on anyone's case for taking their time. Some people have deep pockets, others don't.

If the transaction is meant to be, it will happen. If he takes too long, and it doesn't work out; so be it.

No one should be chastised for being informed on making a big decision.

#7244 6 years ago
Quoted from Dee-Bow:

yes, they realise he has a Porsche and Lexus for sale. What are you suggesting??

I was pointing out it is a dealer selling, so likely the cars have nothing to do with the pins. No harm no foul. Just funny how a couple guys pounced on the car thing for no reason.

Everyone has their own walk of life, thats all that matters.

#7255 6 years ago
Quoted from flashinstinct:

They are all the same. If you don't pack this thing like it could survive a nuclear attack you'll be shit out of luck either way if something happens. + Make sure you pack this thing in front of the guy that picks it up. Or pack it at the depot. Take a shitload of pictures from all angles.
And do yourself a favor:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/how-to-create-the-ultimate-palette

Crazy and unnecessary overkill. All the power to crating, but not worth the time or cost depending on what you're shipping. No matter how much protection you put, it will never be enough to stop damage from a fork lift. With proper padding (i.e. blankets, cardboard, etc.) you'll be safe from any minor rubbing, and small tumbles of other items being shipped; but in the case of forks, you'll never stop them.

A forklift weighs (on average) between 9000 and 16000 pounds. The forks are reinforced steel, and will basically go through anything in it's path. I work with them everyday, and have been around them my whole life.

Another issue with overkill, is over thought. Some people stuff the glass and head with blankets, but Ive seen backglasses, and once a playfield glass 'pop' from too much pressure. You dont want to stress these machines beyond necessary means.

Kudos to those who take the insane time, however, it is often not worth it.

Also, to the packing it in front of the pick-up driver comment. Most drivers will charge a wait time, and dont want to be stuck waiting on you anyway. Make sure you pack well, and you shouldnt have an issue. Pictures are great to keep tabs, and proper labeling is always a good idea, but again, overkill is not a necessity.

Insurance through carriers is notoriously shit, but there are ways to protect yourself, and those who have spoken with me are well aware of it.

Good luck to anyone who ever decides to ship stuff.

Just wanted to share a quick story about a fellow Pinsider that most of you probably know, Meegis.
I was looking to do a trade for one of my games, and he PM'd me to offer help in shipping since I had never done it before. He was exceptionally generous with his time, and went out of his way to give me info on pretty much everything I needed to know.
He also let me use his warehouse, where he spent at least a couple of hours with me wrapping it up and preparing it for shipment. He patiently explained everything he was doing, and even skipped his lunch the next day to wait for Same Day to pick it up.
Not only is Meegis the most awesome guy I've met on this forum, he's one of the most genuinely kind guys I've met period. Definitely need more people like this in the hobby... And the world!

Quoted from Spencer:

Coffin ball lock is great, the lighting seems alot better and I REALLY want the road case cabinet. Can anybody talk me out of this? The pro price is way better for sure.

There are a long list of pros vs cons on this debate.

While the lighting is better in the premium, you can get timebandits total lightshow kit for a lot less than 4k

As for the other goodies, they all have their own lists of pros and cons too

Hammer/Coffin lock

pro: cool feature, physical bacll lock, goes under playfield, hammer effect, magnet ball grab

con: prone to fail (a lot), people swap out the metal cube for a captive ball (like the pro), MASSIVE and blocks the view of the playfield, sometimes causes ball stuck issues

Snake functions

pro: very cool when it works, physical ball lock, extra mech bragging rights

con: has been prone to need adjustment a lot (see met club thread), makes snake multiball easier to achieve, looks like a turtle without fangs (not all pros have fangs, and I know, you can always add them)

Rising Cross

pro: also cool, matches dmd animation
con: none really, just another mech to fix if/when it breaks

Spinners

pro: great to have, tied into scoring

con: can be easily added to the pro (however, not tied into scoring)

Cab Art

pro: personal opinion

con: personal opinion

Hoping this helps you a bit. I personally have a pro with a bunch of mods, I wish I had a couple of the perks, but they are not nearly worth the dollar jump to me. Again, personal.

There may be a lot of Western presence in this thread, but don't discount how many Ontario residents are here lurking too.

I've done tons of deals that stretch coast to coast, have made some good relationships through a few and for the most part, we here as a community help each other out.

If a game is located 4 provinces over, maybe try asking someone from that province to check it out for you. I know a bunch of us would help out if and when needed.

I've both been on the helping and being helped end and can't thank the people enough for it.

Has movie correct custom tesseract with lighting; cointaker Led flipper buttons; updated all flashers where there were incandescent bulbs; have stern update kit, (used what was necessary, still have all the extra pieces factory bagged). Includes the rare, and astounding dual light backbox topper to mesmerize and fill your guests with wonder. Note, you must have 35 ft ceilings to set up this game properly.

I don’t buy that it’s about “protecting potentially unsuspecting buyers”. It tends to be more about pissing matches over past deals, and general hard feelings.
It’s VERY easy for a new buyer to search past trades, and ask around for pin values... they aren’t going to discover anything in a pissing match buried deep in a forum thread. I call BS.

Edit: I got moderated for adding the word BEAUTIFUL in your direct quote so I've removed it, sorry Pinside Robot

Ouch on that moderation

Oh wow I so want that Block-A-Shot and Derby Day machines in the Miscellaneous section.
If anyone is going please let me know what they sell for.

I was after that Derby day too

Cheers dude. Who is vobtas? Lol

He's a horribly bad typo.

I'd help him ship if he needed it though

Quoted from KnockerPTSD:

Just wondering if any of those Jungle Queen (or Princess) EMs I've seen for sale in the last year are still floating around the GTA area? I can get a good deal on one....kind of, it's so far away I'd double my cost in gas. I'm in Hamilton. I'm trying to get together a few pins to eventually have a league night but I'm still too picky to put in games I dont really like. I like this game. It's cheap and it scratches my EM itch. I'm trying to justify driving 7hrs each way but it's pretty damned hard.

Why not ship it?
