We should change this to a "For Sale in Alberta" thread and start another "For Sale in the Rest of Canada" thread

#650 5 years ago
Quoted from bcrage88:

Thanks for the heads up but really only interested in a title that is in Canada right now with the exchange, shipping and duty on these machines just not worth it for me to bring one over right now...

Souldn't be any duty, but we know what you're getting at just the same

Any of you Canucks have a nice DE Time Machine they wanna part with? Looking to buy OR trade my tftc for one.
Thanks

Contact Thunderstorm. He has one and he might be willing to part with it.

Worth a try.

Quoted from QuarterGrabber:

Keep in mind he says it's in euros so times it by 1.42

The conversion and shipping are all included. Those prices are CAD, pickup at his door.

Prices aren't great, but I saw two WCS in Chicago with asking prices of $2900 and $3150 USD.

Quoted from Atomicboy:

Has anyone purchased NIB state side and brought back? IF so, did you have to pay state taxes AND taxes again once entering Canada?
There is one I'm thinking of buying stateside, but it's Michigan, 6%, but I can't imagine I would again have to pay the full 13% in Ontario as well. I can't imagine I would be charged taxes twice for one object, but I could be wrong. Anyone done this?

I don't know about state taxes for NIB, but buying in general the 13% HST is only on the amount over your personal exemption. If you can milk it into a weekend trip, that's $800 off the purchase price. Whether they consider the number of people in the vehicle and combine the exemptions is up for debate.

Have you tried Recroom Amusements?

If you're in the states for more than 48 hours, you get an $800 personal exemption. The tax you'll owe will be on the purchase price less $800.

I bought a Jackbot a PinFest last year. After my personal exemption I only paid $115 GST. That being said, they raked me over the coals and went through my truck, luggage and laptop to check out my story.

fully functioning project, has vector labs ESB kit ,2 full spare working game board sets, spare HV for the amplifone, spare complete yoke assembly, repo cab decal set ( in a roll) RAM controls complete yoke rebuild kit (still boxed, unobtainium) also have a spare pcb cage, couple rf filter boards , audio boards and i might have a power supply.
could be paired up with my SWE1 for pin trade? ( have a RFM swap-over for it, and new RFM nos PF in box)

Intriguing to say the least . . . been looking for a Star Wars for a long time, but I was also looking for my Space Ace for a long time too.

I'm looking for a Medieval Madness, project machine only. Almost as much as playing, I really enjoy bringing games back from the brink. I'd rather buy a $4K machine and spend $4K fixing it up than to buy an $8K game complete.

No shit. Gone are the days when we bought Fish Tales for $1100 or STNG for $1600 at the Starburst Auction. I still wish I grabbed that CC NiB at Laniel for $4000k. I remember saying back then I'd never pay $4000 for pin. Wow times have changed...
I remember buying TFTC for $1000. Man I love the theme but hated that pin. I sold it for $1200. Look at the price now. Everyone seems to love it. I can't figure that out.

At one of the last Starburst auctions there was a TSPP that went with no bids at $2600 - if I knew then what I know now . . .

Well...that's the reason I keep monitoring this thread. Although I think you guys should rename it "The Bargain For Sale Thread for Americans."

I've been trying to sell a game state side since before Christams. I get plenty of interest and I could have had it sold probably a dozen times by now, until the conversation comes to getting it over the border. I'm less than an hour from the nearest border crossing, yet no one wants to come into Canada to get it. They all ask if I can bring it over, which is a colossal PITA for me. Shipping seems out of the question as its over $500 bucks IF they can find a shipping company that will do international shipping.

Hey lads. Trying to figure out some shipping for a game I've purchased in bc. Is there any shipping company that offers insurance on a pin? Can't find anyone who will and just not sure about which way to go.

I don't think shippers will insure if it's person to person, only business to business.

Your home insurance should cover the game in transit once you've paid for it. Check with your broker; they would want information such as purchased price, serial number, game title, etc.

Looking for a Williams Indiana Jones. This game has been on my radar for quite a while, but its now time to make a more conscious effort.

Are there any of these out there? Not interested in CQ or fully restored, condition can be less than ideal (to a point). My only trade fodder is BTTF + cash. Prefer relatively local.

Send me a PM with what you have.

He used to do 1/8 mile all over northern and eastern ont and this end of Quebec.
Too much travel and wear on the rv.

It's been a long time since I've been to Sparta, I used to go out there for street legal Fridays. I understood the track was so rough past the 1/8 mile was why many of the bigger cars stopped going there?

I try to get to Grand Bend at least once or twice a year. I'm not a racer, just an avid fan.

Before I get beat up too much on price, bear in mind the cabinet decals are easily $300 USD after shipping and plastics are unobtanium. There're NOS plastics on eBay asking $400 USD. So technically I've price the game at $2400 + parts.

You pay tax on the value over and above your tax exemption. If you're in the states more than 48 hours that's $800 tax free, go with your significant other, maybe $1600?

Quoted from Darscot:

I would not call it lucrative, I don't see this as profitable. I think its a great way to find a pin your after for a good price, its just about acquiring pins. I enjoy working on pins so I figure at $3750 for a BSD I will probable sink another grand or so into it. ColorDMD, new cabinet decals, LED and some misc and I should have a very nice BSD for $5000 Canadian. I'm doing this as a hobby because I enjoy it. If your trying to do this for profit your going to be very underwater on labour. I'm hopeful if I decide to move it I should be able to get back the money I put into it. If I wanted profit you would make more an hour working fast food. Here is a link to the buy but its closed now but it will give you an idea whats available.

When I said 'lucrative' what I meant was do they still make sense with our crappy dollar knowing you'll need to drop a lot of time and money to bring it up to snuff when the title is likely available somewhere for around the same price?

I have/had two container games back when the dollar was closer to par; $1500 for Revenge From Mars that only needed a cleaning and the monitor repaired, $1500 for a Road Show that was a money pit and still needs a playfield swap. Yeah it's a crap shoot what you'll get.

I've been toying with moving my Getaway and/or Fishtales.

I may be interested in your Getaway.
