Quoted from dirkdiggler:I'm curious if Wizards Castle was a franchise or just a name that got used lots? I can remember one in Southgate mall in Edmonton and I think the arcade by fantasyland in West Edmonton mall was a wizard's castle?
Yeah, it was a franchise across Canada, mostly mall arcades. The way I got that signage I posted was about 10-15 years ago I tracked down the company that bought the company that bought the company that etc etc Wizards Castle ... There had been a location in the mall near me growing up, too, and I asked the guy that I got in touch with if he had anything left I could hang in my game-room.
He said he had a bunch of stuff in a storage room and asked for my address. I ended up getting shipped a big box for free with a couple signs like I posted, some mesh-back Wizards Castle trucker hats, rulers with their logo, a “mature attendant wanted” sign, and a smoked-plexi wicked 1980’s clock with their logo on it in gold.
They later got bought by a couple other companies, then by Playdium, then by Cineplex, so I’m guessing that storage room is long gone now, so I’m glad I got in touch when I did!
