Just like the title says, looking to find something in Canada to save shipping/brokerage fees. Let me know what you have.

Really open to anything at the right price. Twilight Zone, No good Gofers, Barbwire, Fish Tales and Lord of the Rings would be my top 5. That said, ive got space and id be up to adding anything interesting.

Ive been lucky getting a few local, unadvertised. Besides that, everyone wants double what they are worth. Vex, I will send you a message..

-Should add, Id like Wizard of Oz LE as well.

#27 10 years ago
Quoted from vex:

maybe we should a fs/ft thread for canadian deals only. you know, all the hosers in one place

Excellent idea. Ive received a few pm's about a few machines for sale, one I havent responded to but strikes my interest.

Guess I should list TFTC and a few other things..

Wife said Elvira is not leaving... So....

Teed off' - Cleaned/repaired/new back glass display/new gopher motor/new rubbers/new balls/flipper rebuild/assorted Leds/custom mods/Superbands/post rubbers.

$2000

White Water- Trying to get a price together, I really do like this but I want WoZ. ( Vex has first dibs, contacted me first )

NBA JAM 4 player stand up cabinet, best you will find. New buttons/switches/ new joysticks, not installed, doesnt need them. Also comes with NBA JAM Tournament Edition boards, its Jamma, easy mod to have both working in same cabinet. I'd say 9.5/10 for sure.

$1600

#129 10 years ago

Sorry guys, gotta keep her happy too!

If I end up getting a WoZ, this my change.

#130 10 years ago

Tease.. ( see the display in the first pic, it really is her game! )

Randy and I have agreed to a deal, I will be bringing Woz home soon! Super excited and thankful to meet another great pinball collector/player in Calgary.

Cant wait to add this game to the collection!!

#172 10 years ago
Quoted from Drano:

Maybe Elvira will be getting a little crowded and need a new home?
Congrats!

She still says no but we have zero space and unless we can move a lessor title, something has to give... You will get first dips after I post some pics, better pics!

Does anyone here know "edited" from the Vancouver area? Goes by the handle Canuckgamer99 on here and KLOV.

He has made me an offer, that requires him sending a moving company to pick up from my house... I would like to accept, however it requires him to send me $$ Via Interact email Transfer. Since I don't know him and absolutely no offense to him, im just trying to be safe. ( ive seen some horror stories on-line )

Thanks guys,

-Spencer

#423 9 years ago
Quoted from Atomicboy:

I agree with the above as well, but when in doubt about what can be done with paypal/EMT/ebay whatever, why post here above calling these companies/your bank and getting the best answer possible, one they will be liable for if they are wrong?

I posted here to ask if anyone could provide a referance for the buyer, thats it. I know how E-Transfer works, ive used it myself many times and if the payment was coming from Russ, who has replied, or anther Pinsider who has posted alot or anyone else I know or have met before Id be perfectly comfortable. That said, Ive never met this person, he could be anyone. E-transfers can not be refunded but if they are sent from a hacked account, im out the money and the game.

No disrespect to the potential buyer, at all, im just doing my job to protect myself. My wifes sister was burnt for $4500 ( actually 2 because max was $3000 a day ) with an email transfer and not only did she lose the money and the product, her bank account was frozen and it took 2 years to get it re-opened and working 100%.

It doesnt hurt to ask questions..

-Spencer

#425 9 years ago
Quoted from generalgman:

If you are that concerned, grab a truck and take a 12 hour drive out to Vancouver and pick it up in person. I have travelled twice as far for pins.

Since Im the seller... well, since im the seller.

#428 9 years ago
Quoted from Atomicboy:

Seemed like it was the method from your first post, and again, if you confirm it's safe with the intermediary, who cares who the buyer is.
Do what you want with that.

Its not 100% safe, despite what your, or my, financial instituation may tell us....Once you have seen it first hand, you cover yourself.

2 weeks later
#474 9 years ago
Quoted from violinfather:

Once the money is in your account it is yours.

I would agree with most that it is very safe. ( especially if you know the person ) That statement is not correct though.

#476 9 years ago
Quoted from aeonblack:

Okay, no offense to anyone, but, Spencer, if it isn't a safe method to use, you need to provide some manner of explanation at the very least. Just saying (or implying) that "it's not safe" when everyone else has had great experiences with it, is not good enough.

Ill keep this simple and easy and like I said already if I knew the sender I would have no issues....

My sister inlaw, accepted a email transfer transaction from a buyer, everything was good for a week, she sent the product out and she thought, that was that.

About 10 days later she was contacted by her bank and told that the funds in her account had been frozen due to the recent email transfer she had received. She was told the sender of the money did not authorize the transfer and she didn't send it. ( basically either she was lying or her account was hacked through identity theft )

She was out the money, the product and it took forever for her account to become unfrozen.

So, it can happen and if I had a total stranger say no problem, Ill email you the money and have movers pick it up, Ill pass, thanks.

To each there own but its not for me with strangers.

Im more interested in the 7K machine.

Actually id prefer original and its 3k cheaper. Plus its already built.

Looks like its gone anyway.

if you need to see pictures its on kijiji Calgary ab thank you

Which is why you still have it. Why wouldn't you post some decent pictures here, to the people that actually want to buy your games. Kijiji is a total joke, its impossible to tell scam for real now a days on most games.

Whats wrong with the Totan? You have had it listed for a long time now and $5600 seems like a great deal, heck guys from Ontario were interested in James's at $8k.

Thumbs up on Jason being a great pin guy too. Played that ST you have and I really enjoyed it.

Lol, you have some strange issues with Al. That said, I wouldn't even pay $4800 for your Totan, between your attitude and poor quality machine, im not surprised its been for sale for months. Even though you don't want to sell it.

#591 9 years ago

thanks spencer how about you ripping james off lets talk about then then

Lol, for real? Again better get your facts straight before shooting off your mouth. Kinda hard to rip someone off in a trade when both parties agree to the deal.

#612 9 years ago
Quoted from goldmember:

spencer why don't you fill us in then we get the truth from james later

Fill you in on what? I paid James $3700 and gave him Teed off. Not sure what your talking about.

#615 9 years ago
Quoted from goldmember:

haha sure you did good one

Again, don't believe EVERYTHING you hear. Im sure James will be happy to confirm and like I suggested earlier, come play my Tom and you will see it has no issues. You clearly like to spread false rumors just to get people worked up.

#623 9 years ago
Quoted from goldmember:

thanks spencer how about you ripping james off lets talk about then then

To clear this up, I called James and he has no concerns or problems and said he will post this later today. End of story, move on.

I am as upfront and honest as they come, stop trying to slander me and Al with false claims.

Guys, that is really Drano playing by the way
I can't wait to stop by maybe tonight if Rob is going to be dropping off some parts at your place to try out your new CV?

#639 9 years ago
Quoted from jms121:

Yikes, well after having a chance to read through some of the last posts on here,I wanted to chime in and say I never told anyone, nor felt that Spencer ripped me off,I was fine with the deal we did,I usually am with most trade and trade with cash deals I do ,so I needed 5500.00$ out of my spiderman gave him 1800.00$ value for a nice and nice playing Teed off so that left 3700.00$ cash which I got, anyways wanted to clear the air and don't know why my name would even be brought up like that.James

Thanks James, its not your fault Stan is a total douchebag and I appreciate you confirming what I said earlier. As for him, Id get suspended/banned and much more if I actually wrote what I wanted too.

#641 9 years ago

Totan $2500. Seems you have finally realized what your garbage is worth....

Im going to list my Transformers LE combo, comes with mirror blades, metallic matching flippers, Super bands and LED back box conversion. Has the Optimus interactive topper as well. Some wrinkling around the legs as normal BUT I have a complete set of new Stern cabinet decals, which are included.

$5500

Pm for pictures. Prefer not to ship if possible.

#908 9 years ago

Sold pending payment and pickup.

#910 9 years ago

Buyer backed out with excuses... Still available, would consider some trades if local but prefer cash sale.

#921 9 years ago

Price drop to $4800. I bought this off a fellow member a few months ago for $5500 and then acquired the extra decal set at another cost. ( it really isn't needed, just nice to have )

If it doesn't sell this weekend, im going to just keep it for now I guess..

#924 9 years ago

With the upgrades I thought it was very fair, tough market recently I guess.

#930 9 years ago

Where are you guys playing the new games at?

#955 9 years ago

It does look really good, nice work.

#967 9 years ago

All of the sudden an unbelievable buyers market has opened in Alberta. Hard to believe that one has to take such a loss to move a game now, must be all the new stuff on the way.

#970 9 years ago

Normally I would do the same but Id really like to move something for another hobby. That said, I can only go so low.

#973 9 years ago

Ok, pick up or pay in FULL tomorrow only...

Transformers LE combo #133/500

Home Use Only,Hundreds of dollars in upgrades, mirror blades, leds, Superbands, metallic flippers, lighted flipper buttons, Flipper Fidelity complete LED back box conversion, Mackee Optimus topper. Extra set of Stern cabinet decals included as well.

Sunday only, paid in FULL, pick up when ever you can. If not sold tomorrow, im keeping it. Tired of dealing with it and/or people breaking deals.

DSC_0333.JPGDSC_0333.JPG

#991 9 years ago
Quoted from pingod:

So buy it then

He wont buy anything.

#993 9 years ago
Quoted from QuarterGrabber:

But it's a Transformers

Lol, lots of people like it, including myself.... The powdercoating is great, Megatron multi-ball is super cool and the sounds are fantastic. ( not including this one has mirror blades, etc, it looks great! )

I just would like to move something and when your wife likes 2 of the 6 you have, they cant go, plus the kids favorite that cant go... so its either a real nice, fully modded TZ, a collector quality, mint ToM, or Transformers.

Its as simple as that. Still waiting on the potential buyer sending a deposit at this point.

#997 9 years ago

I had a solid agreement for $4800, lines got crossed, problems occured, I wasnt able to get a deposit and I figured said buyer just wasnt really interested. So, in an attempt to move the game quickly, I dropped the price and clearly said, TODAY ONLY or im keeping it.

As of now, the game has been turned off/covered as the original customer still says they want it.

So to be clear, Violinfather, you should read the whole add before using it as leverage against another machine/member. Further to that, I will never do business with you again, so you cant buy it anyways.

-Spencer

#1000 9 years ago
Quoted from violinfather:

Wow you should work on your interpersonal skills. Typical warrior behind the keyboard. I will not bring up for all of Pinside how you treated me on a previous deal because I have a little more integrity than you. Regardless of your attitude good luck with your sale.

Lets review, you wasted my time, never ONCE told me to hold it, I sold it because I was tired of waiting. Then YOU called me all sorts of names. Sound about right?

#1003 9 years ago

Thanks Aeon, appreciate the positive comments. In this case he is just bitter because he was the tire kicker (and has been to many board members) and excuse maker when it came to buying my TFTC, so I sold it to someone else. Then he decided he would get angry about it.

#1048 9 years ago
Quoted from Hobbypinball:

The bubble - she be burst. At least on used games. Still there for A list games, but even there just not where it was a couple years ago. Or whatever and i'm an idiot - but something certainly has changed.
Zero offense to Twilight1 - STTNG will sit there for a while at 6. At least if will in Calgary. 2 years ago - you might have had a bidding war.

I agree, prices have dropped a lot in the last few months. I cant believe someone hasn't picked up your FishTales yet. That said, I have excellent offers on a couple of my A list games, just not sure I want to part with them.

#1058 9 years ago
Quoted from Hobbypinball:

I'm actually enjoying being down to two pins. Been playing FT more than I have for a while. Put regular flippers on it instead of lightning and is alot more enjoyable. You know cause I'm such an awesome player and all.

Lol, yeah you and me both! I didn't know you had sold a few, your collection says you still have five. I had heard you moved Oz but didn't know you sold 2 more. Im guessing you kept Creature too?

#1144 9 years ago

#1148 9 years ago
Quoted from flashinstinct:

I feel bad for poor ol'TF. It's a great game that never got passed the initial bad rep. I owned a pro a really loved it. I hope this one finds a good home

I agree, it is actually really fun. I love the Megatron multiball.

#1152 9 years ago
Quoted from pingod:

Creech for 1000.00 on kijiji Calgary today.
Ad was real, friend got the game.

I called, emailed after 5 mins of posting, no response. Hope he can fix it up. Im guessing the $800 would be high to someone who knows what they are doing.

#1153 9 years ago
Quoted from Bigbossfan:

Damn!! Congrats to your friend!

Pending repairs, should be a good deal but who knows when the seller says it needs $800 in repairs. I would have taken the chance to though.

#1155 9 years ago
Quoted from pingod:

800.00 in repairs was parts and labor quote.
So far coil in the trough needs to be replaced.
Don't know what else yet.
He is happy with it

Hope it works out for him, will be a real nice pickup. I saw one last weekend bought from a certain guy in central Alberta that was horrible. Broken ramps, drywall screws, hologram didn't work, playfield wear at the flippers, broken plastics, head touched up with paint runs, re-import with rust, horrible.

One day Ill get one!

#1160 9 years ago

Does anyone know someone in Canada/Calgary that would do some boardwork, for a reasonable rate? Non pinball game, seems easy enough.

#1162 9 years ago

I should add for any help:

I bought a Flintstones egg laying machine for the kiddos. Nice shape, non-working. Wiring was a mess, cut/loose/missing, etc. I connected what looked to be right but its a no-go. The cabinet light comes on but nothing else happens. Board seems simple enough but I cant find any info on it on-line. The transformer also gets hot really fast if that makes any difference.

Will not sell SM alone right now, will sell TFLE for $4450.

-I should add, no shipping unless you arrange it. Also, my games have been seen by many Pinsiders and I take pride in maintaining and upgrading them and can provide numerous references if needed.

Holy Spencer, you change gears hard. You just got head long into the hobby 18 months ago and now your getting out in a big way. I give you credit, you don't do anything half-assed in life. Good luck in the new endeavors.
QSS

Well to be fair, I may have over spoken abit. I will be keeping my WOZLE and most likely TZ. Im just stuck in that place right now where my family wants to move on, they don't play the games, nor do they really like them. They want Pacman and skeeball and kids stuff. I was hoping they would take to it more but it hasn't happened. If I don't play them, they would sit for weeks and collect dust and that's just a waste when I'm sure someone else would enjoy them. I may buy a few cheaper titles if the kids enjoy them but right now, they only want JP, so we shall see...

Id prefer to sell them one at a time and see how that goes but the lack of interest in TFLE is having me think a little different.

I think I will always own at least one because I really do love the hobby but if im the only one playing them, there is no point in having 6.

It's my sanctuary. I'm actually glad they don't play them. It's my place, there is nothing downstairs that my wife or daughters need to concern themselves with at all, so that floor is mine.
I used to wish they would play more, but honestly, I'm glad I have the retreat somedays when they all go ultrasonic on each other. F that noise.

LOL, I hear that!

Quoted from YKpinballer:

In case there's anyone out there who doesn't know Bob from Red Deer yet, I bought a CFTBL off him and had to replace basically everything on the playfield. All the plastics looked like someone had gone at the machine with a hammer. Scorch marks on the playfield and some warped parts where the ball ejects from ramps.
Plus no creature hologram. It was "Marked down" to 3200, but really should have been 2500 max. And I hate getting the machine with no hologram because I have no idea if he just took it out and sold it separately. But I'm sure it just went black and got thrown out, as is common.
He warned me it wasn't cleaned or shopped at all and the middle ramp had been glued. But literally everything needed replacing. Fortunately I bought it expecting a project machine (having heard stories of Bob) so I was happy to rescue it from him. And the game plays great so my friends and I love it.
Cabinet is in good condition so it looks great in my collection. No regrets for me, just want to give another heads up about Red Deer, make sure you see and test the machines there before buying.

I hope its not the one he had previously traded to someone else who quickly returned it. That one was a re-import and everything had rust on it. Plus there was flipper wear on the playfield, right side flipper. Cabinet wasn't bad but the head, especially the left side was horribly touched ( painted, lol ) up.

The most important thing is your happy! The one I saw, needed easy $2500-3000 worth of work and had no idea if the hologram was working or not.

Id buy from him but Id inspect it with a fine tooth comb first. I actually attempted to make a purchase of a Mrs Pacman, things started great and then he just stop replying?!? Oh well, I bought something else instead.

South Park
Independence Day
Only open to trades, not looking to sell.

I couldn't convince the guys I know with South Park or Golden Eye to sell/trade for this. I would like to have it if the price is right. If anyone can work out a trade to get it, Ill buy it from you.

#1599 9 years ago
Quoted from robbiedoo:

I've purchased from him - as long as you know going in that he's a business, and some (many) his machines are in players condition, then you're fine.
Bob's actually a really nice guy, and if you hate what you end up with he'll let you come back and swap for something else.
As long as you're educated about what to expect & what you're getting, and you can deal with paying more because he's a business and not a hobbyist, I would say you're fine dealing with him (which seems to be the general consensus!)

Your quote is totally wrong. I didn't say that, I have no problem calling a spade a spade but I have no dog in this fight. Another user said that, please make the change.

#1603 9 years ago
Quoted from YKpinballer:

Yes, that is the one. I dealt with the rust by soaking the screws and nuts in CLR, replaced some that wouldn't be salvaged. new ramps plastics and rubbers. Full flipper replacement. Will be polishing the playfield and replacing Mylar in due time. Fully LED and have mikes hologram mod on the way. Ordered the ramps from Australian pinball parts so got a really good price. I would say in the end I will have $3200 in purchase price plus $1500ish in shipping and replacement parts including hologram and tv screen. That leaves me $1000 to grab a replacement playfield down the line and you'll be on target with your $2500 estimate to repair. Gives me a $5700 fully restored cftbl... A little steep but I also paid 5k for my Shadow getting it from the states with shipping and exchange etc. (great condition). So yeah he had no problem ripping me off but as I said I had a feeling it was coming and wanted a project machine for the satisfaction of fixing it anyway.

Glad your happy with it!

No need for sugar coating, 100% the worst/biggest rip off store I have ever been to. Last time I was at the mall, I went in for a laugh and the sales guy gave me attitude like I couldn't afford anything. Nice customer service.

I also got blue goal creases and decals for the offensive zones, Tag hueler and Heineken. Picked up the yellow trim on the bottom too, to complete the entire look.

Quoted from violinfather:

Seems hard to sell locally. Easy if I ship.
Wow I have been offered many different trade options plus cash...WOZLE, AC/DC pro, Sopranos, Stern IJ, Batman Forever, POTC and XMen LE Magneto. Need an easy to play pin as it is the only one in my man cave. It will only be played by adults so a real family friendly theme is not necessary. I like some of the trade options so I imagine the trade plus cash will be the end deal. Thanks to everyone for the offers.

If anyone in crazy enough to offer you a Wozle PLUS cash, you would be silly to not accept. Ive been offered $7500 and $8000 in the last week for my WoZ. That's money in your pocket if you sell and its a better game.

#1708 9 years ago

If it was me, id go Sopranos. I wouldnt even consider a Stern IJ and for me ac/dc has no appeal.

Quoted from Triumvirat73:

It's his machine and he shouldn't be pressured to make any deal he's not 100% happy with. It's hard letting go of a title that you believe to be worth more than you're being offered for it and, at the end of the day, he has to live with his decision. He's been clear about not wanting to ship, and has stated that he knows that it limits his sale options, so that's that.
It isn't drama so much as not wanting to make a decision that he'll sorely regret down the road. And I think we've probably all made deals that we regret after-the-fact.

Please, its all drama with him. Just ask anyone who has had dealings with him. He has a fair/solid CASH offer of 7K on the table, plus numerous trade options.

I hope he accepts the trade because if he takes the cash, next week he will start another thread " got 7K what should I buy"

I'm leaning that way as well since the price tag will be close to $10k after tax and shipping. But at the same time the CND doesn't appear to be recovering anytime soon so any NIB LE Will be $10k. But I think GoT will be a badass pin

The market for NIB is stupid at the current exchange rate. I could never justify spending 10K on any pinball machine, no matter what the theme. The exchange rate is great for selling though, I was offered $6500 for one of mine, that's $8125 Can, hard to beat that.

#1948 9 years ago
Quoted from pinballkyle:

It makes me wonder how many new WWE pinballs are out in Canada right now. With the USD so high, it must have drastically affected sales down here.
I don't know a single owner of a WWE in BC.

I'm not sure why anyone would pay $10K for a WWE pin, when you can buy a used TWDLE, WOZLE, TZ, ToM, etc for $6000-$7000 ish. Doesn't make any sense to me.

#1950 9 years ago

Even at $7.5k it would have been a great deal compared to 10K for WWF. I actually prefer the older games myself, always seems like more is going on but even WoZ, you can pick one up for around $7k-8k and we can argue the theme sucks but just as many people think WWF sucks, so that's a wash and at current prices, WoZ is a steal compared to a stripped down Stern.

As far a pre-ordering anything, regardless of theme, your a braver man than I. I wouldn't do it a couple years ago and with the recent BS, I will never give any company, a dime with-out getting a game in return.

#1968 9 years ago
Quoted from Rob_G:

Yup, I'd rather pay NIB rather than paying the same money for a 20 year old, overpriced WMS game. I bought 3 NIB in 2013 and plan for one this year, but I'm taking a wait and see approach. WWE does not interest me and although I like TWD as a show, I'm just not sold on the game. I know nothing about GOT except it has something to do about weiners....
» YouTube video
Rob

Generally, I would agree with you but it depends on titles. They are not priced the same either, you could buy a great WMS game for $6-7k. In fact if you got lucky you might get 2 for the same price or close to, as a new in the box WWF pin. That's not even factoring Oz into the equation, at what $7-$8K used.

Im glad people still buy new in the box games, so they call sell them later to me! Especially at $10k, that's a joke.

That was quick!

40 year old game, looks like it was made yesterday. Playfield and plastics are mint. Powers on but wont kick a ball. I needed a project. lol

#2379 8 years ago

So I bought that Ten Stars with the intention of getting a cheap unit to learn about EM's and re-theme it. I still may do it but I cant get over how nice the the playfield and plastics are in. I'm starting to wonder if ruining a 40 year old game that looks this nice is a good idea?? Granted the backglass has some chipping and crackling and the cabinet isn't fantastic but I cant get over how nice the playfield looks. Also, the coin door and side rails are very nice as well.

So before I ruin a 40 year old game, I thought I'd mention it in case anyone is interested in keeping it original. Other-wise, look out!

#2400 8 years ago
Quoted from QuarterGrabber:

What size do you need? I know where you can get brand new 32" crt arcade monitors that are still on the skid from 30 years ago.

I need a 19" vertical for my Ms Pacman.

Quoted from woz:

Have you tried http://nitroamusements.com in Mission, BC - they repair pinball and arcade games.

I haven't yet, was hoping to get someone local, since shipping is a pain for a monitor.

Quoted from extraballingtmc:

I've had dr don recap a monitor for me before. excellent work

Im assuming he is in BC as well?

#2402 8 years ago
Quoted from QuarterGrabber:

19" monitors are easy. Don't most people just replace them with LCD screens?

Yeah, that's always an option but its about $400-500 and then its not original anymore. ( which I really don't care about but a potential buyer certainly may.) Plus it doesn't look as nice, the picture is better but you lose the bezel, smoked glass cover, etc.

#2403 8 years ago

Shout out to Will ( Willathrilla ) for being a great seller and super easy to deal with!

#2410 8 years ago
Quoted from Hammerhead:

I don't suppose your source has any 19" CRT monitors also?

There is a guy here selling new in the box for $375. I googled the model and they come up as having issues though. Not sure what the best solution is here.

#2411 8 years ago
Quoted from BC_Gambit:

Yes, but honestly IF you can do your own pin work doing a monitor recap is no problem. Assuming you have a desoldering station and a decent soldering station doing a single PCB with ~10-20 caps should be an hour-ish job if you are taking your time and triple checking the cap orientation as you install the new ones.
Honestly, removing the PCB off the monitor body without electrocuting yourself is the hardest / most exciting part of the job (monitor discharge "pops" for the win). I have been zapped when reinstalling a monitor PCB.
Not sure if someone turned the cab on while I was away working on the monitor, or if a ghost charge had built back up. Either way was a good reminder it is hard to be too safe!

This is my biggest concern, I have no idea what I'm doing, never played with monitors before. Will any 19" monitor be a direct replacement?

Question:
Does recent Canadian dollar affect my sale price? If I can get 2700$ US for my SWDE (for example), does that mean it's worth roughly 3300$ Canadian?
Just asking as I am looking at selling SWDE, IJ, JP, and LOTR..... Trying to determine fair asking prices. I have a couple of offers from the U.S., just want to offer them in Canada as well.
Thanks

Absolutely!

If I sell a game for $5000 US, that's $6500 Canadian. Assuming shipping isn't an issue for the US buyer, I can sell a game cheaper and still come out ahead.

Look at Woz, a reasonable selling price would be around $6500 US, that's almost $8500 Can and no-one in Canada is going to pay that right now. Again, shipping cost kill a lot of deals but if your close to the border that sure opens up some options.

When the dollar tanks like this, buying sucks and selling anything to US buyers is fantastic. I'm going to list lots of non pinball stuff on eBay in the coming weeks, might as well take advantage of the situation.

The market in Canada has become a lot softer too, especially in Alberta, lots of people losing jobs and lots of others, like myself, are a lot slower.

I just picked up a WOZ 75th at the Pintastic Show from Jack. $9k US + $1k CDN to broker it through & tax. I picked it up myself, & had my brokerage done in advance. So $12k+ CDN pinball machine.
Recently I have talked with a number of Canadian Stern Dealers. We are all reeling from Stern price increases internationally & poor CDN dollar. That & some of us are getting a little annoyed with Cineplex-Starburst as our Canadian distributor. Personally my purchases have decreased 95% over the last few years as a dealer. Also doing free warranty service, & the hassle of paying to return defective parts. I have talked with Gary Stern numerous times over the years about it, & have given up. Maybe Heighway Pinball will be a wakeup call, along with other manufacturers towards pinball sales I Canada.

That is INSANE. Makes me feel much better about what I paid now.

Who cares, its now his to sell for whatever he pleases.

Quoted from Gorno:

Those people are really great for this hobby.....

Just so I understand, if you had the opportunity to buy said game for $200, you would keep it for 6 months, a year, whatever and sell it to another Pinsider for $200? Didn't think so.

#2687 8 years ago
Quoted from Jeekayjay:

Didn't realize you were the authority around here. I'll be sure to check in with you next time before I state a fact.

Bitter much? He was the first to get the game! no authority at all, its common sense. Like it or not, if he didn't get it, someone else would have.

Like I said, if you grabbed it for $200 you would move it along for $200 yourself?

I should add, I bought a game for $1400 put a few hundred and time into it. Kept it for 8 months and realized it wasn't for me or my family. Sold it for double what I paid. Guess I'm a bad guy too and exactly whats wrong with this hobby.

#2693 8 years ago
Quoted from Gorno:

Or 10 days in this case. Some people like to play the games, and some others just want to make a buck. Would you like me to apologize for not wanting to be associated with such individuals?

Lol, no. We are all entitled to our own opinions, I just think sometimes in this hobby we get a clouded sense of reality. People buy low and sell high everyday to make a living and nobody cares about them. Once pinball machines get involved all of the sudden its taboo.

Anyway, I'll let it go.

If anyone close has a 42-46" LCD flat screen your willing to part with for a reasonable price, please let me know. Im going to use it on my Golden Tee Live, only requirement is HDMI output.

Thanks

I really need to find someone to address my Flintstones egg game circuit board. Ive put this one on the back burner too long and Id really like to get it working again. If anyone has parts or is interested in trying to help please let me know and we can work something out.

I cant even find a manual so its not an easy task.

It was an TWDLE and went to a Pinsider in Calgary who was happy to get it. Thanks for the useless response.

The only thing useless in this thread is you. No one wants to deal with you. Not the best idea to insult reputable members.

Staying on topic:

Lots of offers so far, some are laughable but expected I guess. A few people coming to take a look today, will repost after that.

Should add, as I haven't posted it already, Spider-man is sold to another great Pinsider.

Off the market, NOT giving it away. If I do decide to sell it, Will has first dibs as he actually came to see it, the only person who did.

Site unseen offers of $5000 are a joke.

#2911 8 years ago

To be fair, I should have listed it with a price and I could have avoided some of the low ballers. Was trying to gauge interest and went about it the wrong way. My bad, mistake learned. Will list solid prices from now on to keep things clear.

Quoted from SuperPinball:

Seems like a good game, a lot of women like it so its an easy sell to the significant other. It was asked about price earlier and it also depends on the build date as well. Prior to Sept 2013 they had the 5V boards that blew often, I personally know a guy that went through 8 of them. The new boards are 7.5V buffered and seem to do the trick but occasionally fail as well. I'm not saying that its the cause of people giving up their WOZs but may be a contributing factor. I will most likely get one in the future.

Quoted from paulohotline:

Reading through this thread yesterday I noticed that 2 Canadian pinheads purchased really nice HUO WOZ's and were super pumped to get them, then promptly sold them in a few months. What's up with that? I am not a big fan of the theme and never played one, but the pin looks epic, what is the reason that pinheads cannot keep it in their collections... is it not a keeper? Does the WOZ music make you want to jump off a cliff?
Can former owners share their reasons for ejecting the WOZ?

I got in at a great price, game had 15 plays on it. Its going nowhere soon. If I had to keep one, it would be WoZ.

Mine was built Sept 11 of all days, 2013. Has the 5V boards, I've had two light lock ups, turn off/on, its all good again. I did have a another issue I wasn't pleased about but its been resolved better than expected.

#3148 8 years ago

I love how the double overpriced sttng ad says rare. They only made 11700 of them and I've seen 15 to 20 of them locally for sale the past 6 months alone.

Man, already changed his ad. Says sale pending. Wtf? Within 5 minutes? Someone is getting a great deal!

The game I got last week, I called him with-in 1 minute of Kijjij ad, was at his house in 5 mins and loading it up minutes after. He had 17 calls while I was loading it.

#3266 8 years ago
Quoted from Cam:

Was that the F-14? That was a great deal!!

Yes it was. Great deal? Well, it was a total mess, years of dust/smoke. ( took me days to get rid of just the smell ) Spent countless hours on it and it needed a new display. At first, the plan was to fix/flip but I'm really into it now. Went way overboard and ordered custom decals, leds, replaced all the rubber, pulled some mylar and of coarse replaced the display with a new red one. Ordered new topper domes and a bunch of other stuff to make it look/play better.

Fun project, really enjoying it and spending way too much money on it....

Damn he didnt even post his machine here.. paul is a good guy, let him sell his machine

Exactly and why I wont post a game here in a million years. ( again ) If its not the overall price, its you just bought that, didnt you? You paid $1000 and want $2500? Your crazy, way too much.

Your game, you price it. Dont like it, move on and stop bitching, its pathetic.

I should add, its not just here and I get everyone wants a good deal but its getting stupid now. I listed a game on Kijiji and got some of the dumbest comments Ive ever seen as to why I should sell it for less.

#3616 8 years ago
Quoted from QuarterGrabber:

I don't know what it is in your case, but in this case if you actually read the posts it's not about his price but about the damn price pumpers that came in after. He can sell his game for whatever he wants as stated before but there is no need for the price pumpers to come in and pump the price up to make it look like It is the going rate so they can get more down the line when they sell.

I read every post, this is the only thread I actually do that in. Bottom line, I dont care if its the seller or "price pumping" as you put it. Who cares, just move on, no need to start all this crap. If it sells, great! if not, im sure he will lower his price.

In my case I got a good deal, spend $500+ in parts, 40-50 hours of work and asked a very reasonable amount and was told I was a "flipper" and "ripoff" and "how dare I". Nice touch....

#3765 8 years ago

Always a great idea to list a HUO WOZLE on kijiji and not include a price.

#3772 8 years ago

I shouldn't have posted this, lol, I have no dog in the fight but $8700 isn't that far off and that's not what I was getting at. I just heard yesterday a WoZ sold for $8000, cant even confirm it.

#3775 8 years ago
Quoted from QuarterGrabber:

The last one I saw sell was for 8k too

Doesn't mean it isn't worth more. Personally, with the dollar that price seems very reasonable.

#3777 8 years ago

Could also have mods, but I was just reenforcing your statement.

So a fully modded LE is a $10K game now?? I know another pinsider paid $12K+ for his Red Emerald edition. (new)

#3783 8 years ago

Scott's price for his WOZLE is competitively priced and if he was closer to me, ie no shipping and I can see it myself, I would be seriously considering it.

I don't think he ever put a price on it.

#3821 8 years ago

Id really like to grab a new game, pinball or arcade but seriously, what is wrong with people these days?? $2000 for Street Fighter 2, lol. $1800 for Golden Tee 2005?!?!? $10,800 for Spiderman? Arcade's for sale, $700 monitor doesnt work!!

I understand everyone thinks/hopes to get more but these people are just plain stupid. I emailed a guy about a Mortal Kombat 3 asked if I could come see it, he said " tell me what your prepared to offer, so you dont waste my time" I said $1000 but willing to go more depending on condition. Never heard back. Really??? Is it made of gold? Did I miss something?

So if anyone has something they would like to move at a reasonable amount, send me a PM.

Quoted from schwarz:

Got a Zaxxon for $500 with your name on it Spencer.

Interesting, Id really prefer a fighting game though.

#3831 8 years ago
Quoted from str8cash:

I bought a mortal kombat 3 about a year ago for $300 on kijiji lloyd. He even delivered it and help unload it. Nobody wanted it and it sat for months.
For around a $1000 you could build yourself a multicade with about 6000 games on it. Golden tees, all the arcade classics and more. Why pay a grand for 1 game? My xcade joystick even has flipper buttons for pinball arcade games

I like the original nostalgia and Im not against paying a fair price. Steals are great but I'll gladly pay fair price for something I want. I do own a multi-cade, it was my very first game, a Chicago Gaming Arcade Classics 3. ( I didnt know any better and got taken on a new purchase, lesson learned! )

Its certainly a decent machine but I had to add my own LCD tv, which added to the stupid cost. Its got some fun games, I love Bubble Bobble, kids do to, but it lacks punch.

Really, the only thing im missing is a fighting game. ( prefer MK or Tekken but open to others ) Ive got GT-2015, Big Buck Hunter, Cruisn USA, Ms Pac-man, NBA Jam and tournament edition among others.

Id be open to a "better" multi but it better have some decent classic fighting games. Id also like a NFL or NHL based game.

The funny part is the guys doing it sure dont give anyone deals when they sell, but expect one and are the first to comment on high prices when they are looking for a game

Come on Dustin, I think I'm more than fair. Shit, I practically gave away one of my games. I just want reasonable, $2k for MK2 or $1200 firm for a busted multicde isnt reasonable. Unless your not referring to me.

#3959 8 years ago
Quoted from libtech:

Bsd usually goes for just over 2kusd as well so its a very similar situation actually, for me I want a st pro, the usually sell for low 4kusd, and the only one I could find he wanted 6k can for it. I dont like paying full converted prices, but to do that Ill have to sell my games at the same. And the price I posted was 25-2600usd which is reasonable.
Either way, Im thinking there will not be alot of movement in collections except to the states for the next while. But no use complaing about it, it is what it is and its supposed to get worse before it gets better...

Like any normal person, I know $3000 for a blown out Taxi is stupid, or $7500 for a Batman is crazy but what really is fair current value for some games? I mean Im still considering selling one of mine and or F-14 ( of which I listed for $2100, last time I believe ) Whats a fair game plan? If the game sells for $5-6US and thats $7200 to $8500ish, whats fair? $7500??

#3971 8 years ago
Quoted from Darscot:

The market has not spoken, people have started listing very high prices, I suspect the market will take a massive slow down because it can't bear the price. Just because you see it on Kijiji that does not reflect the market. I'll grant you the Pinball market is hard to gauge but its way to early to tell how much it has increased.
Anyway we should let this thread get back on track, I honestly thought this conversation was in the other one.

There really is nothing to get back on track. No one is selling and most people think there game is worth a fortune. Im all for a $7500-8000 TZ or AF, etc but $7500 for a Batman? lol

Fair is fair but some people are getting stupid and ruining it for others.

#3972 8 years ago
Quoted from boris_37:

If you get the new f-14 playfield in it, you could ask a ton more for sure. haha

Never seen a new playfield for one but even if I did, its still only a $2700-$3000 game.

#3973 8 years ago
Quoted from smokedog:

I'm in a similar spot with my WH2O. That's why I'm looking to trade it. I've had probably 10 offers for cash sale, but I would have to sell at the converted price, because anything I want to replace it with will be the same. They have been going for $4200 - $4800 USD in similar shape to mine.

+1. Though people are still going to try, and then bitch you out when you try and sell at fair market value.

I don't know, a lot of people are just sick of seeing inflated prices, just cause. Fair market value is one thing but some of the asking pricing are way beyond that. Im all for fair, sure Id like a good deal but I'll pay fair or even higher prices if its something I want.

As for your White Water, I really miss mine and I see your point, its not a $7000+ game, I sold mine for $3400. Honestly it sucks but the reality right now, is to sell to US buyers and make the premium.

Yup, that's one of them. I've put a few on hold for pickup tomorrow , if it doesn't work out, I'd appreciate the help. That said I'm actually going to be in Edmonton picking up a game tomorrow, so I guess I could grab them myself.

Since I'm going to be traveling to Edmonton, thought I'd just ask....

I need a 40-50 inch LCD TV.
