Anyone know of any pins in the Saint John, NB area? I'm out here for two weeks!

Man that's nice looking. What's the waterfall mod?

Gerry has a few for sale from his container order.

Link? I would be interested to see what he has available.

Looks like I'll be staying away from container pins… forever. Thanks for posting prices.

Quoted from YKpinballer:

Selling my CFTBL for the right price, asking 4,500 plus shipping. Have replaced basically everything on the playfield and new rubbers etc. has some wear to the playfield but plays great. All new ramps.

I would love to have this. Grail pin. I've never shipped a pin. What's it cost to go from west to east? I'm in Ottawa.

Quoted from YKpinballer:

Forgot to mention, I have installed a new NVRam chip, so no batteries required anymore, new Triac board also. Have the parts for a complete flipper rebuild, but the flippers work so good I haven't done the switch. Complete set of new plastics just installed. All in all, great player's machine. If one popped up on the market a playfield swap down the line and mike's hologram mod would make it like new.

PM sent.

LOL. Thanks!

Quoted from Meegis:

Fiftyquid, if you need any help with shipping, I can maybe lend a hand. I am in Toronto, so not that close, but if you do come in to the city any time, I am happy to help.
Have a good rep here and PBRev.
Was just out at QuarterGrabbers last weekend actually.

Thank you meegis. I'll see what happens.

I turn everything off and unplug everything. Mine are from the 80's and up though and I'm a bit OCD like that. When I was a kid I had a lightning storm take out a television, while I was watching it, and that memory has never left me.

I've been following CFTBL for almost two years now. It seems to hover around $4K. This one looks in pretty decent condition. I'd say it's a good price.

Quoted from movingpictures:

Yup, that's the one.
If the new owner wants to flip it on eBay, more power to him.
I'm not interested in dealing with that mess

It's still a dick move. He even cut n' pasted the info from your post into the eBay listing.

#2641 8 years ago
Quoted from movingpictures:

I don't really see it that way.
We agreed on a price that we were both comfortable with and he bought the game.
Whatever he does with it after is his business, I couldn't care less.
If he can flip it on eBay, good for him.

Fair enough. I'm just disappointed with the fact that it went up on eBay afterwards. eBay just sickens me.

Probably playdium / starburst. I can't verify that from my phone, though.

Yes, they sell them. When I was in Toronto they had one in their showroom.

Quoted from TBatti:

Thanks Al my thoughts on PBL is that they are crooks with shipping. Just on principle I have a hard time wanting to buy their product as they rape me with overpriced shipping. Maybe if I can get a bulk order with other members I will get these.

I always preferred PBL to Marco. I dread hitting that "outside the US" shipping button.

Hi guys, I have a WH2O for trade. Looking for a fixer-upper CFTBL. Please PM me if you have a Creech and would like to trade. Not looking for HUO. I don't mind a putting in some work as long as the PF is in good shape. Willing to add $$$ depending on the condition.

Thanks!

Quoted from CoinTaker:

Cointaker is NOT permitted to ship games into Canada and cannot ship games to the border.
If you are from Canada, you MUST purchase your games from the Canadian Distributor.
This is per Stern's policy. Also, we have NEVER advertised a price of $4995.00. Our price is $5495.00.

Not that I'm interested in buying, but I'm curious... you won't ship to a US address located near the border?

Anyone know the admin at pinball revolution?
Requested password reset etc and nothing happened, even emailed admin....

He'll get back to you. He doesn't monitor 24/7. I had the same thing happen. Took a couple days to get a response.

#15358 3 years ago
Quoted from northerndude:

In some other crazy news, I got a mod shipment from US with frickin’ UPS this week. And it’s the first time in years, years, that I didn’t get a brokerage fee or fuck all. I couldn’t believe it.
I would have saved probably almost a couple G’s CAD on my NIB pin I bought in spring with this dollar exchange

Wow, that is shocking. UPS brokerage fees are nothing but bullshit. They must have just forgot or someone pushed the wrong button on their computer. I'm sure you'll get a bill a couple years down the road.

#15368 3 years ago
Quoted from Smack:

How much are UPS brokerage fees usually? I recently ordered from Pinball Life via FedEx and the fee was $10 for brokerage which I didn't think was too bad.
Perhaps this is best case scenario?

UPS brokerage fees are some of the highest in the industry. I paid $80 on a used $300 iPod. That was nearly 20 years ago. Yes, I'm still bitter about it.

#15383 3 years ago
Quoted from Smack:

That seems insane...

You could've stopped right there. It was insane. I've avoided UPS ever since. I'm actually in Logistics now so they can stick it up their arses.

Just realized I never posted this here. Selling my Gottlieb Surfer. This was my first EM and it was a complete mess when I bought it. If you are looking for an solid, reliable, working EM, keep on reading...

*Asking $1200 obo*

Pros:
Fully functional game. Set up for free play. I won't say working 100% because I just noticed the TILT light is not coming on. Socket needs to be hard soldered or replaced. Is 99% working fair?

Cons:
Cosmetics/Aesthetics are rough
Backbox has some damage.
Backglass has some peeling. Sealed by previous owner.
Front and one side of the pin was painted white.
Some rust on mechanicals, but does not affect gameplay.

Photos:
https://photos.app.goo.gl/Sav3aZqZWLRNh7hs5

Work that has been done:

New facetted white posts
New full set of repro plastics from PBR
New stars and rollover inserts
New rebuilt flippers
New rebuilt pop bumpers
New spinner
New full set of rubbers
New plunger mech
New rebuilt drop target mech w/new silkscreened drop targets
Inserts have LEDs
GI has new incandescent bulbs
New leg levellers
New apron cards
New transparent red coin drop inserts
New 5 cent inserts behind red coin drop inserts
Coin door has been polished, and repaired.
New pinball
New AC line cord
New tilt bob assembly
Start-up sequence of the pin gone over by trusted pin tech
And much more...

Included with the sale of the machine:
01x Flipper Rebuild Kit KT-GFLIP03AM. New.
05x Drop Targets. Used. Dirty, paint worn off, but great for back-ups.
02x Pop Bumper Caps. Like New.
08x 5081 Springs. New.
10x 7769 Springs. New.
12x 7827 Springs. New.
06x 6974 Cotter Pins. New.
03x Fuse Holders. Digikey. New.
05x Star Inserts (White). New.
04x Flex Stone. New.
09x Springs. Used. I think these are extra drop target springs.
01x Pawl. Used. Includes plunger arm.
01x Gottlieb Schematics.
01x Gottlieb Manual.
01x Coin Insert Prints. Allows you to change the pricing. Printed on 90LB cardstock.

Quoted from PinPickle:

100% incorrect.

PinPickle is definitely right about this. The border having a list of all pins is not feasible. They would have to have a full list of everything that ever existed. Just imagine the logistics. The border would need a massive database to store all this information and have a search more capable than Google. Plus it's government, so the concept is laughable.

#16299 3 years ago

Damn! I saw 75+ posts in a day and thought I had missed out on someone cleaning house of all their pins before the divorce lawyers swooped in.

#16344 3 years ago
Quoted from Paseb:

what does shallow means?

It does not have a very deep ruleset. If you want more modes, deeper code, then go with TSPP. This is coming from someone that owns CFTBL.

#16350 3 years ago
Quoted from Paseb:

im not a deep pinball player. I started buying last year.
I play with my girlfriend from time to time and i want to have friends/familly arround to play. (which we currently can't in Quebec due to Covid)
i like my current line but i cant tell if its deep rules or not as im a pinball noobie.
also, i like 90s game, i just dont like the new pinball with big screen. so keep that in mind.

It sounds like Creech would be right up your alley then. It has broad appeal and it's easy to understand and dive right into.

#16433 3 years ago

LOL... RUO

Reminds me of when eBay was more popular and the acronym NIB started appearing. I didn't know when the letters represented at first and always assumed that NIB meant NOT IN BOX. Now, when I see NIB I can't help but think that first.

#16464 3 years ago

Titan just stopped using DHL and is switching back to USPS for international. I didn't think DHL was that bad. I didn't pay and brokerage/duty on shipments from them.

#16469 2 years ago
Quoted from Pauz21:

I am really glad to see titan changed shippers. I know I’ve had lots of people say their bulbs aren’t as good as comets but I’ve always found them to be really great to deal with and good prices. I like their silicone bands also. Especially for flippers.

Titan said they were getting hosed royally by DHL on every single shipment. I don't blame them for switching, but I didn't have any issues with DHL... UPS on the other hand can kiss my ass.

#16475 2 years ago

Final price drop on my Gottlieb Surfer. $1000 firm. I'd rather set it on fire than go lower. Willing to ship at buyers expense.

(And I have used the "I'd burn it first" line)
