Good to see Parksville finally on the map! I worked at Oceanside place for 4 years and was the only pinhead north of Victoria. Heading to Tofino this weekend, hopin' Howlers in Uki is still operating a couple machines

There’s a few pinheads in courtenay comox

Does anyone know who owns the surfer in Lethbridge that’s on kijiji?

I know him, he’s a good guy, he doesn’t know anything about fixing pinball and I’ve helped out with what little I know.

Avengers (AIQ) Premium is still up for grabs. 300 plays. Tasteful mods. Perfect condition.

I will consider any trades for newer pins. DM me.

I talked to him but declined as there was too much wear on the playfield for my taste for the price he was asking.

vault version ?

#19614 3 months ago

no original

#19615 3 months ago

Yeah when I was moving my Iron Man a couple months ago everyone wanted the vault and nobody wanted the original version. I had to keep dropping the price until it finally went.

What's the difference?

#19619 3 months ago

some led lighting , bigger magnet area , orange t molding

#19620 3 months ago
Quoted from luch:some led lighting , bigger magnet area , orange t molding

Improved cabinet decals and translite (I think)

Iron Monger was changed to a 1 piece mold with chest led.

Big magnet cores were the last VE run. One insert was also changed to blue to correspond with a new mode.

It's a great game, for sure and I wish I still had mine. I was sorely tempted to get one of the VE when they were last produced. There was word of more VE to come, but that seems to have been cancelled or pushed back.

Led Zep Pro
Like new, low plays.
$8300 + tax

Located in Montreal, can pack and pallet for shipping.

Game is out of production and probably not to be made again since Steve Ritchie left Stern for JJP.

Only selling to finance another game so no trades.

#19625 3 months ago

when did RUSH stop being in production?!? it is their newest game? they usually run games for a couple years at least.

Yeah, saying its out of production is either a bad sales tactic or just bad intel.

Have either of you talked to distributors about when the next LZ run is? Just curious

AFAIK, you can't really say it is 'officially' out of production until Stern moves it to the archive list:

#19634 3 months ago

LZ is done. No way they do another run.

Was a disappointing pin to say the least.

#19635 3 months ago

Another game thwt wont be made is Stranger things and it has not been archived yet…
So LZ wont be made is my guess.

While I'm not Canadian nor do I live in Canada, I'm always curious about this thread when I see it. Just wondering how a pin for sale in Canada helps someone who lives across the country (i.e. no different than having a thread called "Anybody in the US Have Any Pins They Want to Sell?"). Might be just a countryman thing (which I have no qualms about), is it difficult transacting business in the US for a pin that might be closer to you than somewhere else in Canada?

Just curious, not making any judgement or moral statement.

#19640 3 months ago

If you buy a used game from the states you owe federal and provincial sales tax on it, so there’s that. Not even including the import documentation and fees required. Also freight shipping (across the country for example) is generally cheaper in Canada from some reason.

#19641 3 months ago

Here we have a “limited” relatively small community of pinheads spread out over the country. (In my area Greater Toronto) there are very limited even Arcades where one could play pins. In short, it’s much much harder to find games locally so we include Canada as a whole.

The USA has such a large population and more large cities, hobbyists, distributor (1 Dist for all of East Canada Monopoly), suppliers etc etc. Canada is small, don’t let the geographic continental mass fool you. In USA your large cities combined have the population of our entire country.

Also, we have taxes & duties

Also the Exchange rate is a Killer!
Our weaker dollar doesn’t help matters

That’s how it is for Me anyway.

With any hope I’ll be able to move to the USA in the near future.

Shipping within Canada is a fairly straight forward process. You can do east coast to west coast for ~300 or so Canadian loonies (Maybe a little more now). That would be your only cost.

Buying from the U.S. is different. Shipping tends to be more expensive, the exchange rate is hot garbage right now, you have to find and pay a broker, and do a bunch of paperwork.

The cherry on top for the buyer still willing to go through with a purchase from the U.S. is we have to pay tax on that purchase when it comes over the boarder which is typically about %13 depending on where it enters Canada.

#19643 3 months ago

Thanks for the detailed explanations, all makes sense to me now.

I know a couple of guys that bring pins in and it's not bad and prices can be very good. The current FX rate is actually decent at 80cents. Average long term is 75 cents.

NIB has tax anyway and several distributors will send to Niagara NY for $0 shipping so if you aren't far from the border you can easily pick up and bring home. Tax on used pins definitely sucks though.

Also, we have taxes & duties to fund Trudeau’s vacations & cottages (Socialist Dictatorship).

No US cities have a population more than Canada. All of California does though. And can we please keep political discussions out of this thread? Good luck on your move to the US.

“CitieS”. Plural.

And thank you.
