I went premium as well, just too much missing on the pro.

$13000 CAD or so all in for Prem yowza!

Looking for Deadpool Prem, Munsters Prem or IMDN Pro in BC or AB. Must be willing to ship if you are outside of Vancouver.

I can't recall the number of $10k stock investments I have lost money on, but never lost money on a $10k pinball machine. So really not a bad way to park your capital.

I couldn’t agree more. Worst case scenario is you play a 10k NIB game for a year then sell it for 9k.

So you’re saying putting your money in pins is safer than putting your money in PINS…

Yes I seriously just made this joke lol

I’ve heard several people say this, has rarely held true for me. Took a big hit on Ghostbusters, Star Wars, the first Avengers, just to name a few. Going to start upping my prices.

Why shorten your search to BC and AB if you want the pin shipped to you anyway?

#17662 2 years ago

Nitro might have imdn pro coming in, call Tommy.

More likely to know the person but will consider outside that range.

Rather save the tax on a new game, lots out there.

Been waiting on an imdn pro used myself and just gave up. Never seen one.

If you order now it will be 600$ usd less than after January 1.

#17666 2 years ago

Is that the date all the new shit goes up?

Yes. Up 200$ for now but full increase across the board January 1. So order now if you thinking on anything.

Pinflation is real. It sucks but it's nothing new. It has existed since I bought my first game (TOTAN) from pingod in like 2013. Hell, I overpaid for it at the time, but that pin stayed with me until a couple years ago, I did an entire playfield swap on it, fixed boards, pinouts, did every mod to it, and when it left it went out looking awesome, and with who I sold it to it probably looks even better now. No matter what I sold that pin for, I made out okay because I learned everything I needed to learn about fixing machines from owning that game and have zero fear with fixing my own games. What kind of value do you put on that? Probably not as much as you should.

Here's how I look at it: if you buy the machine and sell it for 2 grand less a year or two later, that's a big hit, it sucks, but it's not unlikely if you buy NIB premium or LE....but did you not play the game during that time? Did you get no enjoyment from the thing? Does that not have any value to you? What about to your families and friends? Shit I'm just happy if I break even. For a bunch of geezers willing to drop 13k on a nib LE (or premium, lol), we sure are a bunch of cheap fucks. Seriously. Just accept that we are all are cheap fucks. Nice things cost money and nobody wants to spend a penny more than they have to. But we also want the new shiny stuff. Don't worry guys, the pins won't evaporate once they are sold, that's why this thread exists....but if a game is good, don't be surprised if people want more money for it than for a beat up transformers pro lol.

Over the years, I have bought and sold a bunch of games, both new and used, and the only ones that consistently let me break even or make money were games I bought used. If you're in it to make money you should get a new hobby. I'm here to burn cash in this endless money pit and have a good time doing it, if you're not here for that, there is plenty of location play you should support, they all need all the support they can get.

Do people from Alberta/Saskatchewan ever order from P1 in Ontario? Thanks.

#17676 2 years ago

If anyone is selling a Guardians Pro to fund Godzilla, I am looking. Would need to be willing to ship.

Quoted from pinballjah:

Not me, I support Nitro Pinball out West in BC.
I did before Nitro was around though.

Nitro has great service
Very good parts supply.
If you need parts from the usual places in the US, just send them your order and they will get it for you.
Saves on shipping costs.

Nitro is better, but I bought my imdn LE through player one because I couldn't get one through Nitro. I paid a bit more, but the service was good. They also have parts on hand if you need something quicker. Shipping for parts is quite expensive though.

But if don't own pins, and just pump quarters, how else will I impress strangers who ask me about my pinball t-shirts?

Or you can just let Pingod sell your machines he seems to get top dollar every time and has an endless supply of buyers lined up.

woof, responded to a comment from 5 days ago.. don't mind me, i don't know how to refresh, go about your business

Well, 1) he's no drama queen and doesn't put in a bunch of reasons for selling a game other than needing room or changing things up 2) typically fair market price but opened to offers 3) not squeamish about shipping and won't gouge you with added costs like boxing up a game.

You bet, I expect Halloween CE, Cactus Canyon LE, and Godzilla LE showing up one day on his selling block, so that he can make some room for upcoming games

#17684 2 years ago

@pingod. Don't you have anywhere else in your house for games besides the dining room? Thus not having to always have a game on rotation?

Dining room and table are highly overrated if you ask me!

I have a tenant downstairs.
Office is too small for games.
I could squeeze in 9 total upstairs, but gets crowded.

Casino is back to Covid distancing, so back to half the games on there.

If someone is interested in Mandalorian LE, make a serious offer. Could be yours
Yes those three games are coming in next, plus some more used ones.
I always rotate games in and out. Keeps the line up fresh.

Does that count for anything?

Quoted from pinballjah:

yes, sometimes P1 has inventory that might be sold out / not in stock elsewhere.

A few years back, I bought a NIB MMr LE from them. No issues. Can't recall what they charged for shipping at the time.
Might have paid a few bucks more due to distance.

#17692 2 years ago

Nitro told me they can’t sell to Ontario, doesn’t go both ways?

#17693 2 years ago

Yeah there’s some turf rules with p1 or something.

#17694 2 years ago

Even if the other doesn't have stock of a certain title you may be looking for?

Player one was/is the original official distributor in Canada. You can order nib games from other smaller distributors like Absolute Pinball but you'll pay a little more. Nitro has the best prices due to volume of products sold.

P1 and Nitro are the only official distributors listed on Stern’s site. My understanding that there is an exclusive territory for them. Not sure how that plays into sellers like John’s Jukes who said their games come from P1.

I understand they have a territorial agreement on Sterns only, other manufacturers are fair game.

I believe smaller guys games come from P1. Then they price to make a profit. Pinheads know of and order from nitro and player one but non pinball people walk into a mall or Google search pinball in their area. Here in Saskatchewan there's Absolute Pinball and Prairie Pinball in Regina. Not sure if Jay Richardson in Calgary is still a thing and John's Jukes in Vancouver area. Not sure out east.

#17699 2 years ago

Surely after the Godzilla stream a bunch of you want to sell some games? Looks like possibly Elwin's best.
