If a Canadian brings a pin across the border, there will be charged applied.
However, Americans can bring games back over without getting hit

Yeah that’s how I understand it too, I’m trying like a SOB to find someone to help me with this. I’m willing to pay for the help.

What machine? Is it from pinside?
I might be wrong, but a Canadian will only be charged if they bring a game into Canada. If they were to help Psw757 by taking the game south out of Canada and into the US, they won't be charged. As long as they can show the pin was originally made in the US. So in Psw757's case, whether it is him or a Canadian doing it, no one should be charged a fee/tax to take the game from within Canada to the US. Its the opposite, bringing a game into Canada from the US, that always gets dinged with a fee/tax.

Where in NY state? I often go to Lewiston to pick up stuff. As noted, better if you cross the border.

Canadian bringing us game out of country can get dinged for export.
Seen it happen in this hobby and others. Especially when goods are being sold not just carried.
Also, depending on level of care, the person bringing it will need to broker the shipment, as it won't be considered personal goods if anyone finds out it's in transport as sold goods.
The fee isn’t that high. Did this once before, bought from a nice guy up in Toronto and brought it all the way to the PA NY border for me. Said it was like $60.
Shipping commercial like sti is different because that involves a broker since it must clear with a truckload of other items. $400 plus the $500 shipping in this case. I’d like to avoid this! Lol

Hmm interesting. I thought the rule was that as long as the game was going back in to the country it originally was made in (US) that it wouldn't get dinged for export/import. I've only taken a pin once from Canada to the States, and I didn't get hit with any fees, but sounds like I was just lucky. I even stated that it was for a trade. I did however get taxed on the pin I brought back from the US into Canada in the trade, but I was expecting that.

There shouldn’t be any crazy fees with a machine made in US going back to the US.
The fees and duties come into play when doing commercial shipping because the whole truck or container has to clear customs and sti/NAVL required the use of a broker to do the paperwork. It’s like $350 -$400.
This is why I’m looking for a private transport option.
Have my Nascar listed on Pin Rev.
$3550. Come by have a look, play, take it home.
Had it listed a few times now.
Buyers start thinning out at 2K+
I’ve been told by border that if I’m bringing a game back into states I’m good up to $2500 but after that it’s a commercial transaction and tax must be paid on the sale.
However I have a friend who’s brought expensive games over no problem.
Also if bringing into states for a tournament and bringing home is ok but there is a firm to fill out.
I’ve taken a few pins over the border into the US and anything over $2500 you must go through a broker and have the right paperwork with you. The broker will charge you one fee that will include the taxes on anything over $2500 for Uncle Sam and the broker charges a small fee for processing the paperwork. I was taught a hard lesson my first time taking a TAF & WCS94 over the US border, they sent me back home because I didn’t have the correct documents.
Within ga change I guess just a money grap for everything now even shipping just parts has gone up a lot

Sounds like, the key is to have a receipt under $2,500 US from the seller and you are good to go.

Unless a US citizen brings it over. If US citizen no duty and no tax if machine made in US.
Even if going tax route it is a hell of a lot cheaper than having NAVL or Sti do it.
You can’t really mess with the values too much. They look every game up. Been this way for several years.

my border guard could not figure out the value of my minty Black Rose that I picked up up in Denver! Although I had a bill of sale he charged me $50.00.CDN
Guess its luck of the draw when you get to the gate!

Are u asking a Canadian to commit fraud for you!!?? Because we would never!! This thread is to sell us YOUR pins
Yeah I brought a BSD in to Canada from the US that was part of a container buy. It was super rough, front corners completely split, not even a hint of red left in the decals, MPU board with acid damage. It did have the good playfield but super dirty. I thought trying to explain that I actually bought it from Italy would just complicate the whole thing. The guy that organized the buy was kind enough to give me a bill of sale from him for $1000 with his phone number. Got to the border and they valued it at $7000. They told me they found the ad on Craigslist. I didn’t even know what to say as they were clearly just making it up. They then said they called the guy and he told them I actually paid him $4000. This was also a very obvious lie. They demanded to search my phone and bank records. At this point I said no chance. They held me for four and a half hours and finally decided I tried to defraud them $42 dollars in tax and fined me $350. No idea where they came with that number but I was so tired of the bullshit I just paid it and took the pin home. Be warned it’s a crap shoot coming across. I have no criminal record and have never had an issue at a border before this. No idea why the guy thought this beat up BSD was the holy grail of pins.

Not sure where you came up with that idea. I’m asking for someone to help transport a pin for me like I have done in the past and whatever it costs it costs. Pretty simple if you ask me.
The pin I’m looking to get isn’t all the expensive anyhow. Pinside values it at like $2000US.
Quoted from Psw757:Not sure where you came up with that idea.
Dee-Bow was only joking.

So many good jokes I could have told here many years ago, today not so much lol

That’s insane! I can’t even imagine where and why they came up with all that. They are usually, key word, Good with me and even ask places to look it up and about condition and such.

I think they mixed up my BSD with some other pin for sale. They were convinced it was worth way more and that I would eventually break and just confess. It really sucked and it was very disappointing how fast and loose they play with law when they are positive your guilty.
Hi,
Going to try and make some room for a new(er) machine. I've got players a quality Taxi and Diner and would ideally like to sell them as set. It took me ages to find a Diner to sister up with the Taxi and they really do play great side by side. The ad is up on kijiji in Calgary, not looking to ship them. 6.5k or best offer for both of them. I'll split them but only if it's for a really good offer.
Thanks!

Section 321 entry. Allows goods value under $800 USD into the sates without brokerage. Perfect for "project" machines.

I’ve seen this but doesn’t apply to my situation.
Anyone got a Kiss Pro or Premium they may want to sell in the near future. Willing to ship as well. Thanks.
Quoted from sixtyfourbits:Does anyone here have a sega South Park that they might be interested in selling?
Giving this a bump, as I’d still very much like to pick one up. My brother-in-law would be ecstatic if I added one to my lineup.
I'm looking for a 1972 Ball Continental Bingo slot machine if anyone has one. Willing to ship.
Also looking for a 1942 Groetchen Pike's Peak

Pat is a great seller. He'll adjust his prices accordingly and understands ultimately that the market will decide how much the pin is actually worth. Plus he takes care of his pins so at least you know you're getting a game that works.
I hear you on the prices of pins though... there was however a Teed Off that was listed for $3500 out east a couple weeks ago and sold quite quickly if I'm not mistaken?
