Quoted from PPS:

put in a feature update just now on a few things, will have hopefully one to two more updates today
http://www.planetarypinball.com/category/mmr/

Great update. Very good idea on the shaker vibration to put the main board on the bottom side to the test and show everyone it's build to take abuse. Kudos.

Quoted from S37VEN:

What is the Roger Sharpe video? Playing, discussing, both? Something else?

Porn. Very hush, hush.

Quoted from lordloss:

Didn't roger leave williams? I don't see the big deal about him playing the pin.

If you had seen the video you would.

Roger love you long time...

Quoted from Aurich:

I don't see how that's even vaguely enforceable. Whatever indeed, I'm not signing up for some other forum just to see updates on products.

Nor am I.

I think someone got a little bit of an inflated ego when he was awash in mmr praise. Public sentiment is a cruel mistress. Take it for granted and you end up on your head wondering wtf just happened.

#591 9 years ago
Quoted from chessiv:

IMO the right way to do that is make the forum readable without any login. If you want to post you must register. People who just want info get it. People who want to participate must go through registration. If you don't have registration for posting the spam farmers have a hayday with your site. Did this for Nucore and had no complaints.

That's a fair and reasonable compromise. I have my doubts however, that that was the reason for requiring a sign-up. Purely speculation on my part, albeit informed speculation; but speculation none the less.

Is it Q2 yet?

It starts in roughly 6 months.

Quoted from yonizzell:

I think everybody complaining
on this forum needs to grow up! While people all over the world are starving or worse

Dude! You are a riot. Oh, wait... You were being serious?

LMOA!

#723 9 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

I say all the MMr deposits should be used to feed starving children.

Why, that's very, dare I say it, "grownup" of you.

#724 9 years ago
Quoted from yonizzell:

Your opinion matters very little to me.

So little in fact, you replied to him. That'll show him how his opinion doesn't matter.

-Respectfully a "I hope to be grownup one day" man.

#727 9 years ago
Quoted from yonizzell:

What am I doing on the pinball forum? Exercising my God-given and constitutional right to express my opinion. We don't have to agree on everything, I was just saying there's a lot more important things in life than pinball! I just wish grown men would stop acting like children!

Honest answer? It seems to me you are a self professed grown man throwing a temper tantrum because a few people aren't agreeing with you. It's cool man. I'm just busting your balls. Don't blow a gasket on me.

More passing of the buck. He's upset and frustrated with chicago? Lmao. Remind me again how chicago got involved? If PPS is truely just the licensor, then rick did a terrible job selecting the company to do this historic remake if they are falling down as suggested. If it's more a joint venture, he again did a poor job selecting chicago AND a poor job managing his joint venture partner. Either way, contracts were drawn up (or should have been) and milestones would have been enumerated within. The farce that PPS is on the outside looking in is insulting.

#2515 9 years ago
Quoted from pinstor12:

Wonder what cgc would say about all this?

They would say zilch. They are screwing the pooch as Rick suggests while shouldering none of the blame. Sweet deal if you ask me.

Thinking about it, why isn't rick giving out cgc'so number since this is their product? Rick's just the licensor right? Who's on the hook to pinheads financially for this project? PPS is just the distributor right? The more I think about it, the more misleading the whole thing appears.

#2527 9 years ago
Quoted from flynnibus:

Uhh... phone listings are available.. and the main man is Doug Duba.. as been said for a long time.

Uhh...I didn't say we didn't know who it was at cgc or if we can find their number. I asked why Rick didn't post to call them instead of posting his own phone number and suggest people call him like he does in his posts. It appears Rick doesn't know and isn't in a position to dictate to cgc so why have people call him. Nice try turning what I said around though.

#2538 9 years ago
Quoted from flynnibus:

Because apparently Rick has at least some basic decorum vs some people on the internet.

So this is your argument now?

Decorum? Really? He just threw his business partner, cgc, under the bus and you're lecturing me on decorum. That's rich. You tried to make my post appear foolish the first time you quoted me and it back fired. Now you augmented your rebuttal and you're flailing in the wind a second time. Three strikes, your out...

Quoted from hardware:

I still didn't forget that someone mentioned the inserts on MMR are not the same as MM. One has a textured look and the other has clear. I've never seen this issue addressed from PPS or CGC. Does anyone have any solid info on this claim?

If they are using Mirco playfields, I beilve the inserts aren't frosted like original. I sold my game with the mirco in it but if memory serves, that's how it was.

Quoted from iwantansi:

is going to make him not ever announce a game again until it is built and in a box ready to be shipped...

One can hope so.

#3463 9 years ago

The playfields are on par with the origonals. Here are pictures of an original hanging on my wall. The slots are clearly not centered on the original either.

#3468 9 years ago

I emailed him twice about TZ and AFM and never got a response.

#3478 9 years ago
Quoted from Longone:

I own 8 WPC 95 games 2 HUO and 1 TREASURE Cove restore almost all of them have misaligned playfield art around the outlane switches specially these games were made as tools to make money with and mass produced and when you mass produce a product it's never 100% perfect!

I'm not sure if you just chose my post to further the point but I posted to pictures because I agree. It looks just like the original. Not sure if you thought otherwise but I figured I would clarify my position in case you took it otherwise.

Quoted from Aurich:

Yup. I just posted a handful of public photos for the people who weren't going to go to another forum. So that customers and potential customers could see the good news with their own eyes. What a jerk!

This isn't about pictures, rather control. From my perspective he wants the pps forum to be the pinball destination for discussion where he controls the narrative. In order to out draw pinside, he needs exclusive content not available here on pinside. Eventually people frequent there more than here. I have said it before, I'll say it again. Wolf in sheeps clothing. Sorry your dealing with harassment from a business owner like that Aurich. Truly shamefull and unprofessional

#4563 9 years ago
Quoted from calvin12:

yeah go figure he wants to control the talk about his business, no freaking way! Go there see whats there, then go talk where you want about it.

Whatever man. You're clearly in rick's pocket. Congrats on being pps's number one fan.

Quoted from anubis2night:

Why would anyone not be excited? If someone wants the game and invested the cash to get it of course they'll be excited for its arrival, kind of dickish to ask otherwise isn't it?

Ask the jpop preorder guys the same question. I think it's perfectly valid to be both looking forward to getting the game and soured by the experience. Not every post that's not glowing in favor of mmr is a troll post.

#4720 9 years ago
Quoted from anubis2night:

I can see someone tired of the wait but that quickly fades when your actually getting the game in. It's sort of like waiting for a roller lasted rise and then when your two people short of getting on the ride saying "you guys really want to ride this?", I don't know to me it just sounded like you were questioning people's choice of machine or taking a crap on their excitement. But it's early 5am for me and perhaps I'm just reading into it, if so I applogize

I'm not passing judgement. Just offering a different perspective. It's all good my friend.

#4722 9 years ago
Quoted from jgentry:

I don't think you can compare being 8 months behind schedule with games now being produced to being 2 years behind schedule with some artwork to show for it. Ordering an MMr has been far from a traumatic experience. The games are late, that's about it. If people are that soured on MMr they should just get there $1000 deposit money back. The vendors other then JJP are just now asking for payment.

Wait, so you're saying there is a timeframe (arbitrarily set by you) of being late that is acceptable to then be unhappy. LOL. Unhappy is unhappy my good man. You don't get to determine that timeframe. By the way, this wasn't/isn't about wanting out or getting refunds. You may try to make it that to strengthen your retort. Nice try. It was a simple question of has the wait ruined it for anyone.

#4724 9 years ago
Quoted from fosaisu:

It reads more like "hasn't the wait ruined it for everyone?" But of course you're free to interpret it as a an actual rather than a rhetorical question.

Semantics man. Everything doesn't have to be a slight. Like I said just a few posts prior:

Quoted from Skins:

#4729 9 years ago
Quoted from jgentry:

I wasn't trying to be a jackass, you might want to calm down and reread the post. If people get soured by the experience because it is late by 1 day or 8 months that is there right. I think it's a bit silly though. We are adults throwing around 8K on toys, none of this stuff is critical to life or overly important in any way. I could care less about the strength on my retort, was just pointing out that I do not think MMr and JPOP are comparable. Nor did I say anything about having a time frame that is set by me that makes it acceptable for anyone.

What a silly response. Of course you set time frames. You clearly stated 8 months doesn't compare to 2 years. Do you always just fabricate things to validate arguments? Calm down, me? That's funny. I am far from worked up. You however, seem a touch bit excitable. While suggesting others reread things, perhaps you reread what you have written. You can't debate rationally with the irrational.

Surely he has never cancelled someone's order for reason of what they have said or posted? I just can't believe Rick would do that.

I think it happened (or something along those lines) to the poster you quoted.
