I haven't seen one of the new MMr in person, but a friend of mine who played it did say he had some trouble reading some of the inserts when lit on the sample he was playing due to brightness. However, I believe it's been noted that the MMr will have adjustable brightness.
On the particular sample he played, the playfield did not have frosted-over inserts like an original MM playfield has, which helps diffuse the light. I'm not sure if that was rectified in later playfield runs, but maybe someone with access to an MMr can confirm.
