I recently purchased a Medieval Madness remake. When I bought it, I did not notice this on the top arrow light before the drawbridge, but at a later time I saw it. Click the image for a bigger version where you can see it even better. You can't see these cracks if you look straight down from on the insert. You have to be at an angle like I am here.

At first I thought this was slight planking in the clear coat. I used some Novus 2 to try and see if I could polish it out, but it didn't seem to do anything. I could be doing it wrong, or I need something more abrasive, so take this action with a grain of salt. As I move around looking at it, it certainly is NOT in the insert. I'm not super knowledgable about the construction here though, so I'm unsure if this is a clear coat issue, or if there is some layer below that (but above the insert itself) that this could be.

Does anyone have any idea of what I can do to clean this up?

From my understanding if you are refering to the cracking in the insert, it has to do with how it was made. They do not cull inserts like they did in the 90's. This has been a problem with sterns for years. Doesn't get worse, doesn't hurt anything just not perfect is all.

If you run your finger over it, and its smooth, and cant feel anything, there really isnt anything you can do, if its inside the plastic itself.

Normal. It has to do with micro abrasions when the playfield and inserts are sanded. Clear gets in them and you see the cracks. It won't get worse.
