Just picked up a non-working Pennant Fever and was wondering where should I start with this thing.
I’ve searched all over for troubleshooting info, but info seems scarce for this machine.
It powers up, but does not start a game. The display lights up as well, but flashes on/off.

Both with acid damage. If you follow the troubleshooting procedures of System 9 machines, you will be fine. They are pretty much the same, with the main difference being the inclusion of the sound board onto the CPU board on System 8 machines.
Thanks for the tip! It’s definitely not as easy to pinpoint the problem as it was on my HS2.
This may find its way to the classified section if I can’t figure it out.
