Any solution to playfield plastic getting broke here?

Once the drop target is down, it exposes the tip of the playfield plastic to the mercy of the ball (in 3 places on this machine)
then it gets broke. Should a guy try and redrill and move the post out further in front of the playfield plastic if there is room?
Any ideas?
