Quoted from mrbanjo:Once the drop target is down, it exposes the tip of the playfield plastic to the mercy of the ball (in 3 places on this machine)
then it gets broke. Should a guy try and redrill and move the post out further in front of the playfield plastic if there is room?
Any ideas?

Don't even think about drilling the playfield. Instead make a plastic protector out of lexan. You can buy it at home depot or lowes and use a jigsaw to carefully cut to the right shape. It might be a good idea, if there is space, to make it a sandwich of lexan/plastic/lexan.
