I enjoy Seawitch so much I overpaid ($200 game+$400 shipping) to get one and have no regrets. It and Stargazer are my two favorite early Sterns although I am quite fond of several others. I spent my play money on a new Taxi playfield so I probably won't be able to get in on John's PFs before the promo price period ends. Oh well... Great back glass and art and sounds.

Here's mine, waiting for a new PF from John and a cab repaint, along with other cosmetic upgrades. The mechanicals and connectors have all been rebuilt and used extensively. Fun game.

Yes, the difficulty of the loop shot is the weak spot of the game, IMO. Perhaps I just need to improve my skills, but in this case I am fairly confident it's the layout.

Thanks for the heads up on the new part, Mad Dog. I'll add it to my upcoming order with them.

This is a common problem for original production Seawitches as well. Someone once made a nice looking polished metal wire guide, similar to Mad Dog's acrylic(?) solution above, if I remember correctly.

Oops. For some reason I missed the other responses that already mentioned this as an origina lproblem. Sorry for the repetition.

I bought one of Mad Dog’s “S” pieces a couple of years(?) ago. It solved the fairly common problem of the ball getting stuck on top of the plastic. I’ve always understood this problem to be much more common than not.

Quoted from MasterBlaster:

Opinions on the CPR playfield?

Qualifier: I do not have a CPR Seawitch PF. I do have four other CPR playfields, however, of which my most recent purchase (Galaxy) is the best of the bunch in some ways, even though it is the only one that wasn't silk screened. That said, I have a Seawitch PF from Fantastic pinball. It is color corrected and comes with an excellent ceramic clear coat. Based on my indirect comparison, I suspect the Fantastic pinball PF is the one to get, if he has more for sale at the moment. I have not done a price comparison between the two in a long time, so not sure about that aspect.

Oops. I just noticed Fantastic pinball's quote above "I think it's time to make another batch of these."

Quoted from FantasticPinball:

I make them on demand now, but my time is limited since it is just a hobby.

Hobby or not, you make a sweet Seawitch PF. I appreciate mine.
