So after a year of the wife bugin me about getting her a POTC pin I got one last weekend. With such a killer theme I tore into the game shopped leds flamed out the ramps and made/ordered some mods. Now looking to add some code to make the game come to life a bit. Any pinsiders care to share any they have done with the magic of pinball browser? Thanks Chris

#2 7 years ago

I just did the intro different and the end song. That is now He's a pirate from the movies. Fits great. The rest is original. There is a POTC thread with info and I think there is info in the Pinball Browser thread. Just curious what mods did you do, as this machine screams for mods.

Shot out to Topmoose. He gave me a sweet code for for this potc im playing with.

PeterG, Im building a topper out of a 15inch Flying Dutchmen ship and matching 12 inch Kracken that will be light up with some leds. Adding few pirate figures. Some blades. Doings a shaker motor tied into the flashers. Full wood themed armor and speaker panel airbrushed. Started on the armor today.

I can add some pics of the armor when them come out of my booth tomorrow bud.

Anyone else running modded code with movie music or callouts for your POTC you'd be willing to share? I'd also be willing to make a small donation for it. I've gotten used to the stock callouts, but seems like this pin would really benefit with authentic sounds!

Pm sent!

Cybergoonie made an awesome custom sound package for my POTC. It sounds so great!

#9 6 years ago

Just bought a nicely modded POTC and am waiting for it to arrive.

Does anyone have the custom code they'd like to share? Is it just a replacement file or something I'll have to put together using Pinball Browser?

Anyone post video of what it sounds like?

#10 6 years ago

Pms all sent. Everyone enjoy! Chris

Sound of crickets.....

Chris was nice enough to send me the code. Its really good but they took out the Yo Ho A pirates life for me theme after you kill the Kraken. I'm a big fan of the ride at Disney World. So that is a must for me having that in the code. It would be cool if someone could take the original theme music from the ride and replace the stern version.

#28 6 years ago

yes, I like the Yo Ho Yo Ho from the ride in the game. Great fun! Great memories of the ride!

What did he replace it with?

I think the sound is fine for the most part on potc but would be nice to have He’s a Pirate in it.

I am interested in this code as well. Can you share it? I could take a look if the original Yo Ho can be added.

#31 6 years ago

#33 6 years ago

Ok think this should work

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/cg4hv8wwethadk1/AABjackoIo1YshCmMoHwNfmLa?dl=0

I created 2 versions - One from the file from Teddy and added the Disney yo ho to it (version 4)
Version 5 is the one from Teddy including the Yo ho Disney version but I changed the Start and end to He's a pirate (get's me more in the game than the flute version).

Have fun with it.

#38 6 years ago

I tested it on my own machine and is fine. Update as regular.

#39 6 years ago

Hi,

Did you have an Video with the upgradet Code?

Great work

#40 6 years ago

Here you go. Hope it stays on there with the copyright music....

#42 6 years ago

DL Peter’s Dropbox link above and run update

#43 6 years ago

Good team work guys. I like Peters original code better. It had the movie theme music in the intro and the end song with Sterns original code. So I took that and added Yo Ho Yo Ho a Pirates life for me from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, and added it to Peters original code. Here it is...

For me its perfect!!!!!!

#44 6 years ago

Here's the best topper I've found for PotC. You can wire up the eyes to light up in concert with the machine if you want since it already has lights in the eyes...

Available on ebay all the time for $20-30 on auctions like this:

Is he’s a pirate on this one? I think there are 4 different versions now.

#46 6 years ago

I shared 2 versions.
Version 4 is the movie version with the flute intro - I just changed the Yo ho
Version 5 is the movie version but altered the start and end with He's a pirate and added the Yo ho - see the video. The video is of version 5.
Version from Teddy is the original Stern mix with altered start and end (he's a pirate) and altered Yo ho. The rest is standard. Sound also good.

Hope this clarifies it.

I run the version 5 now. It sounds really good.

#47 6 years ago

Also on my version I raise the audio volume on Yo Ho when it's played after you beat the Kraken. But I have to thank Peter for getting the Yo Ho audio clip just right for the 24.240 seconds allowed in the rom code.

When I tried to mix it I couldn't get it right, and Peter nailed it!

I'm sure Stern's not to happy we're fucking around with their code.

#48 6 years ago

I was on peters code, Then went to version 5 i realy liked the added music !
but the callouts when hitting the ship are realy soft (bring on the deaf old geezer jokes )
I went in pins menu and turned down the music sound and then raised the total volume on my pin ,but the difference between standard callouts and the added is to mutch imo

So I'm now back on Peter's with the enhanced yohoyoho realy like it.

But if someone makes a version with louder ship callouts please let me know!

#49 6 years ago

I could try to increase the volume on the call outs - just need to find them between the 628 requests.

#50 6 years ago

Well hoping someone can help me out here.

Installed the new code, everything went fine. Removed usb, reset dip 8 and asked to either power cycle or press select to reboot.

Did the reboot and it got stuck there for 30 minutes.

I shut it off to restart the process and now I get GI lighting only and back box lighting looks normal.

No dmd and start button won’t work. Can’t even get into service menus etc...

Any suggestions?
