Ok guys so the Led Zeppelin pin just dropped! Watched the gameplay reveal, I love it. Like most of my fave music I was introduced to Led Zeppelin through skate videos, and it just brings me right back to when I watched those videos every day. And Zeppelin weren't in just any skate video, they were in the Plan B videos. Plan B was the greatest company and their videos were extremely mind blowing how they were on whole different evolutionary level every time. Well the first 3 at least. By the 4th it was not the same company and everyone had left but the legendary icon Jeremy Wray and although he carries the fourth video with the help of 2 Zeppelin songs, it's nothing as historical. But the first 3 were on repeat every day. In those days there was no bombardment of internet skate clips that you forget 10 seconds later. You were lucky to get a video a year from a company. And you watched it every day. So the Zeppelin songs are absolutely etched into my brain. They weren't maybe even in the best parts but they were part of the package. And I mean I'm saying not the best parts but still Danny Ways part in Virtual Reality is insane, vert skating was different before this part, he introduced street skating into vert skating. And nobody skated switch in vert, switch had just barely been invented in street and here he's doing a part that blew minds even before people knew what switch was! I don't care much for vert but can watch Danny Way skate vert all day. And he was just as good at street too. Truly a goat.

Awesome! That's Solar City, the 2 player version of El Dorado. Do I see a rollerblader on the PF? That would mean it's not from the olden days.

As promised, we got my daughter a decent skateboard for christmas:

It’s the only pic he posted and not very good.It is a skater on a deck but I can see how it could look like a roller blader.

Right! Ok I see it. I'd be curious to know the backstory.

My wife bought me a skateboard for Christmas. I guess she got sick of me talking about how I was "thinking about starting to skate again." She asked one of my friends for help and they actually built a pretty cool board. I can't wait to ease back into it.

The craziest skating I've ever seen.

Quoted from Waderade812:

He has an interesting blend of 80's, 90's and current street tricks. He also mixes in some traditional freestyle. That 50-50 to front foot impossible out on that rail at the end is INSANE.

Hope it came from PennSkate.

Skating the garage mini tonight. Not pinball related, but I added this beast to my office last week.

What are the dimensions? Man I so wish I could have a ramp to skate in the winter - I'm thinking up all kinds of schemes like buying an apartment building with a big garage just to build a ramp in the garage Or spending my winters in Florida - I'm in software so I could do it if it were just me, but the wife and kids aren't as mobile

Nice set up there. I miss 720. I've had a few of them over the years. I should have kept the last the one. The prices on them have gotten out of control!

10ft wide. 6.5ft transitions. About 8ft flat. Almost 3 ft high. Built like a tank with 3 layers. It’s a real good time year round. From pinball to skateboard ramps, my wife puts up with a lot of shenanigans.

Ok so rougly 10x24 footprint I guess. I was wondering if it was even smaller than that and if it was still fun.
I have a 12ft wide 3ft mini with 6ft transitions in the backyard so pretty close, but this is what it looks like right now. 1609419902364-1860614783 (resized).jpg1609419902364-1860614783 (resized).jpg

Went to a skatepark last night for the first time in almost 20 years. I was in for a rude awakening. I thought I'd retain a lot of what I knew. But I feel like a beginner all over again. Still trying to just get the pump motion down to maintain speed in a mini ramp. Took some bad falls but I plan to stick with it.

#321 3 years ago

That's the spirit, brother!
Just watched this yesterday with the 60 year olds who just got back into it - inspiring!

Dude it will come back quick. The hard thing for me is not over reaching on my present skill level. I find myself trying stuff my teenage self could do. But the 35 year old carcass I currently inhabit is a little tender.

Welcome back to the club!

I don’t skate but my 10 year old is pretty decent. Built him a mini ramp a couple years ago.

It’s just 1/4” ply painted with “skate paint” from OC ramps.

8:30 is just to early for those young rippers. Mighty lonesome out here.

Best time to be there....before the scooters show up.

#338 2 years ago

It was good until a 10 year old showed up on a bike. He proceeded to follow me around and tell me about how good his cousin is. He would watch me do the same line in the bowl 10 times. Then move over and sit with his bikes front wheel 2 inch's of of the coping right where I was doing frontside grinds.

It's hard to be calm. But what a morning.

That's the only time I ever go to the skatepark. That or during the day on workdays.

Lets talk about these E-Sakteboards.....
I love skating , look at my back posts, but with age 52 next week, I still want to carve and cruise without the hassle or much effort to be honest. I'm fit healthy and could knock out a session, probably , but let's discuss these things and whats good, what sucks and who has experience with them .
Prefer not to discuss these one wheel whatevers , thatz not skating .
Ok, go .....

Literally my first board....Bkack Knight, clay wheels , circa 1977

Not a regular Tony Hawk like some of the guys here but I filmed a little run I did this morning. I did my first rock n' roll to fakie 2 years ago so I am (slowly) progressing.

#343 2 years ago

Awesome dude. Thanks for sharing. I been filming little stuff here and there. Really I wish I could find a group of guys around me to skate with.

There’s a concrete/parking block spine at reedy creek DIY. South side off of Westover hills boulevard. Spots crusty but fun as hell. Definitely worth checking out if you haven’t

I’ve been bothering city officials for about 5 years to put in a skatepark and working closely with my council member and it looks like they took most of my suggestions, the best part is that we can walk there. Also this will be the largest skatepark in Michigan.
