Yep, very sad day indeed. Hopefully someone will buy it and pick up the reigns and continue.

WOW didn't see that coming! Have a lot of MTH stuff and always liked their products, except when they went cheap on their REALTRAX. Be hard to think that someone won't buy this company unless Mike Wolf just wants a ridiculous amount for it. Hopefully something will happen!

Mike has stated a few times over the last year or so that he has been thinking about packing it in and finally made it official, I just assumed that he would have children that would have picked up the ball and ran with it but guess not.

Sometimes you do see where the kids have no desire to take over the family business, guess this is the case here. Hopefully he works something out as they make some nice products. For a good while he had a lot of products made that were related to Pittsburgh, my hometown, that I collected. When he first started making stuff I was like "gotta get that as it's probably a 1 or 2 time thing". He went on to make at least 30 carss related to Pittsburgh.
My Uncle has been working on his layout now that he's retired. He made some YouTube videos I thought I'd share. Better than I could do, that's for sure. Some of the music is pretty corny but if you know my uncle, it kinda fits

Mike was great for making a lot of those off the beaten path road names, it's a shame now for I doubt that Lionel or Atlas will. I really hope someone or a whole group of someones pickup the torch and continues his line.
Quoted from AFM95:I believe when I was six-years-old, I received a n-scale train, with two tracks, from "Santa." My dad, I mean Santa, had the track laid out on a 4' x 6' piece of plywood with green felt applied. There was a Styrofoam mountain tunnel, crossing gates that came down from the pressure of the train, and a few buildings scattered around the tracks. By far this was one of my FAVORITE memories when I was a kid. The best part, the engine was Chicago-Northwestern, the railroad my grandfather worked for.
Fast forward to late February of this year, I took my wife and daughter to the Twin City Model Railroad Museum for their last "Night Trains" event of the season - they had a blast. If you have been, you know how amazing it is. If you haven't, here's a great YouTube video to see it in action:
I can’t tell you how much I appreciated your post. Brings back a lot of similar memories. I remember coming back from college for a summer. Many many years past when I “played” trains with my father. I can’t remember why we decided to do it, but one night we pulled out the train and spent hours setting it up and running it around the track. My father most likely won’t remember that night, but I do. It was special. Pure magic. I still have that same train. Makes me want to pull it out again and do it all over. I miss nights like that.
My husband has been working on the tunnels going around the water feature this summer, and he did the final concrete work this past weekend. I think the end result is looking great!!

Do you have other internet content showing your trains, like YouTube or a website? Your set up is awesome.

I asked my husband—right now the old stuff is just on FB, so he’s going to check if it’s public or not. He’s been putting new stuff up on Instagram. (@dklennert)

He’s casting the other side tunnels this weekend but next weekend he’s making the entrance portals. He’ll also be landscaping over it.
Quoted from bobnatlanta:Added a shelf for the O train, and a second HO on the original shelf. The Silverball Express is now a system! Next up is lighting it all and adding some scenery.
Cheers!

Quoted from shirkle:My father-in-law has been working on his model railroad for 40 or 50 years. This bridge amazes me every time I see it. It’s HO narrow gauge. [quoted image][quoted image]
Wow, that's impressive! Can only imagine how good that looks in person. Any idea of the construction time?

Wow that really turned out great.
Hello, I have quite a bit of O gauge Atlas track, switches etc. MTH Z-4000 transformer used twice with box. A Lionel Hellsgate bridge remake in green/cream, accepts 2 O gauge tracks & sits flat on the layout, like new with boxes. Also some prewar 800 series box cars. As I dig stuff out I can post here if any interest. I posted pics of some stuff I have out already. Some of this stuff is too big to ship. Prices will be very reasonable as I need to make room & it’s just sitting here. John
