I just bought a dirt bike after a 20 year hiatus and having a lot of fun.
I used to race motocross in high school. Then the bike sat for almost 10years. I tried riding again about a year ago and got beat up! Shortly after I sold the dirt bike. I figure I don't bounce like I did at 16years old.
I'll stick to motorcycles.
I like trail riding and woods riding. No current places to ride. Still have a Honda XR 80 & 100. In the past I've had a Z 50, XR 200, 250, and a 400. The 400 I miss the most and would like another one day. Super reliable.
I used to be pretty big into quads. Rode with lots of dirtbike guys but could never handle them as well as I would have liked. Not so much these days though, when I fall it hurts too much anymore. I have been considering picking up a super moto for bombing around town though
I still have a trail 70 (ct70). It can sit for months, turn on gas, turn key, pull choke and 2nd kick its running. Just can't kill it.
I saw a motorcycle forum that had a guy ride his trail 70 from Louisiana to sturgis for bike rally. That's nuts.
YZ125 here. I've had a dirt bike since I was a teenager and always plan to have one (49 years old now).

I saw that. No way I would want to go 60mph on those little wheels with those little brakes. I had one from 1969 and that 46 year old thing still ran! The 1992 one started on the first kick all the time.

Those early bikes started so easy and they had points for ignition!
Yes a 1970 CT70H 4 speed manual clutch!! Had all kinds of dirt bikes over the years and Harley's too. Latest is a 08 superglide custom, but love those little Honda CT 70's. I enjoyed restoring it too. I ride it all over the place, my wife always laugh's at me and says I look like a little kid, I always feel like one when I ride it so why not

Mines a 71. Had it for 30 years. The remakes from the 90's were almost the exact same just no chrome.
I don't think they were remakes, I think they just kept making them. The handlebars were a little different and you are right about the lack of chrome. I think the tires were slightly skinnier from the factory too. Gas tank was metal and the electrical system was 12 volt.
I still like my older one a little more, though the gas shocks on the new one were way better than the old style.
They stopped making them then started back up. 1969-1982 and 1991-94. I never had a "new" one. They all go for nice money now. Didn't know about the 12 volt. Makes sense though.
Wish I wasn't at work or I'd post a pic. The 4 speeds top out if running right at about 47mph which is pretty good for a little bike
I only have pit bikes now. Honda 50. And Kawasaki 100. The kids and I play on them around the house really. I used to race though. My family had a circle dirt race car track here that included a small go kart track and motorcross track so I grew up racing all of the above. Have a nephew now who's nationally sponsored. He's not old enough for super cross yet but took 3rd this year in amateur nationals.
Used to. Gave it up long ago a started mountain biking which is still a passion. Helps to keep me from being a fat old weird pin geek(well one of those).
I ride everything I have a chance too. While I ride MX, I mostly roll the jumps because I have no idea how to land. I think I own as many motorcycles as I do pinball machines.
Riding MX is the best exercise too. My latest acquisition is a 04 Suzuki RMZ two fiddy. Over the winter I completed a restore on a 1996 Yamaha YZ125. Both are a blast to ride.
