Ok. Smoke in progress!

I’ll join you with this second from the sample pack. Working our way up.

Live east — die young it says. Crap I live on the east side of the twin cities.

Quoted from EJS:

No but I saw them at the store today. Let us know how it is I may pick up a couple.

Well, I'm not much of a cigar rating expert, but an outstanding cigar definitely gets my attention.
Can't say anything bad about this cigar, but it wasn't anything special. It was a medium bodied smoke that remained consistent throughout the length. The burn and draw were very good, but it dropped it's ash pretty quickly.
Couldn't pick out any flavor notes or anything, but just a decent solid smoke.
Gotta keep trying others.

I wonder if that might be a typo.
Probably should be "Live Easy, Die Young".

Good choice on the V cut! I like a V or a punch on the bigger RGs.

I wouldn’t know either way but apparently the east part is a song

‘17 PLPC tonight. Only available in 50 cabs, and one of the best aging cigars there is.

Gonna be heading out to our Cigar Hideout in Hilton Head on Tuesday morning. And I'm bringing a nice selection of Cubans to keep me busy!

Yessir post 2591 is the generous stick from you. I’m trying to hold off on the 52 as long as I can.

The case is going to be leaving soon to PlanetExpress

If anyone in the US 48 is interested, I decided to see if we could collect signatures from those who have contributed to this thread and use a travel humi as the canvas.

Help has arrived!

I’m going up to 75% since I have a looser lid right now and glass top and side. Plus going into the cooler seasons this will be better. I’ll probably drop down to 72 or 69 this spring.

Anything over 70% humidity raises the likelihood of mold, with 80% being the “almost certain” threshold. You’ll often see active humidification systems set to ~70% at cigar shops, but that is with lots of air movement from customers opening doors. In a small humidor, 75% is pretty likely to result in mold. I keep NC cigars at 69%, but have had mold in some wet sticks at that RH.

My first time trying Hamlet tonight. Good thing I like it cause there are 21 more for me to smoke after this one.

Grabbed a few new cigars today, some really rare stuff! The one I'm most excited about it the unbanded stick on the far right, it's a Fuente that's pretty much unheard of. It's the Pussy Juice (yes, that's actually the name of one of their insanely rare cigars) blend in the Black Orchid vitola! Should be a pretty damn good smoke!

20210830_143829.jpg20210830_143829.jpg

Also scored this rare box of Liga Privada Year of the Ox. The Liga Year Of cigars are a foreign only release, so these cigars were made for the Chinese market. As far as I can tell, there's only a handful of these boxes in the US right now. If these are as good as the Davidoff Year of the Ox, this box will be gone quickly!

Just cracked the box. A little tight on the draw they feel pretty moist. Going to let a few settle into their 65% habitat and bet that will improve. Still very delicious and enjoy the smell of the wrapper burning off the end.

Almost forgot this from last night. Lots of flavor in the beginning then mellows out. Was from a sampler so that was my only one.

Hey I recognize one of those.

I’m debating if I should buy a box. Really mellow with a dash of flavor.

Original release Oliva Serie V Maduro, these cigars were amazing, hopefully they age well (box is unopened)!

20210830_180319.jpg20210830_180319.jpg

I just opened this box of original release Aurora 100 Anos, the serial numbers on the bands are around 1,000, so these are super early! This box isn't in standard Aurora packaging because it came out of Fernando Leon's personal walk-in humidor at his office. After he passed, some boxes were given to his family/friends. A friend of mine ended up with it and gave it to me about a decade ago. Can't wait to finally smoke one!

What’s going on with that one Partagas is it like smoking two at once?

A culebra, its actually 3 cigars. I think the story goes that in Cuba rollers could take one cigar home each day, so they would roll 3 cigars twisted together so it counted as one cigar. Something like that.

Yep, that's what happened! Pretty creative inventing a new 3 cigar vitola just to take home a few more sticks! Last one I had was the Fausto Old Man and the C, it was pretty good. Before that it was the Tatuaje Old Man and the C (made with their black label blend) those were awesome! If you guys come across the Fausto culebras in a coffin, give it a try

I tend to believe the alternate version: rollers were allowed to take home three cigars a day, so the owners allowed them a culebra, making it easy to spot any roller trying to steal extra cigars. Either way, a fun novelty cigar with some real history.

I’ve only tried the Viva Republica culebra before (that one was interesting, as each cigar was a different blend). Looking forward to trying out the Partagas once rested.

Oliva Serie 0.

You and I have similar tastes in cigars and pinball.

Olivas are one of my go-to mainstay cigars. They never disappoint.

With newbies, I offer Nub Nuances, made by Oliva. Not everyone likes infused cigars, but they are quality ones.

That makes sense, very plausible explanation.
