I was looking for a certain pic (of an Arcade machine) and came across
these pics that I actually forgot I had takin'.
Last Fall, a Friend gave me a bench swing that was in need of repair. As
soon as the better weather came around in early Spring, it was the first
little Spring/Summer project of the year that I worked on. Stripped the boards
(had to make a few), sanded, put back together, and stained. Also customized
some hidden brackets for stability. In Summer, outdoor projects is where most
of my spare time is spent, although usually larger projects..
Anyone else switch gears a little bit for Summertime hobbies?

I like to work on cars but the tend to take up alot of room. Still have this one I finished a couple years ago (they never really are finished) but I can get in it and drive it down the road and enjoy it.

Designing a small smokehouse to fit on my old AC pad on the side of the house. Since I am a horrible artist, imagine a house drawn by a preschooler, and you now know my art skills.

OP: Next you should take the Kubota and pull out the old Plymouth and give it a wash.

You have an observing eye, and yes, it has been awhile since it's seen clear daylight,
and wouldn't take a whole lot to get up and running. But if I can force myself to stop
working on other projects, this is the one that I'll be freshening up first. It's a really
fun toy. They're both always on the road, but this past Summer is the first year I had
it inspected in many years. I need to sell some of my over stocked machines and put a
    few bucks in the cars.;

crlush, I just noticed that you (with the nice cars) responded
on the notchback.. I had a Barracuda/Cuda pretty much since
I had a license. I picked this one up in 1980, and had it redone
with the help of Friends. Soon I'm hoping to put some more
time into it, but much of the Summers been going into other
many outdoor projects which I really enjoy doing..

Maybe the problems at my end, but I wasn't able to open that link..
One Summertime hobby I like doing is restoring vintage playground equitment..
What mostly caught my eye with this Monkey Bars is that all others of
similarity drops straight down to the ground. This one forms a globe like
figure with the way it tucks under. The carriage bolts and nuts were still strong,
but frozen. Although only slightly, grinding was leaving marks, so after much
sanding then priming, many hours went into delicately painting all the
    circular bracket edges..

For a private party, that's a hell of a display!

That's the crowd warmer to get things started. After getting every ones attention, then the show can start.

Sounds like maybe more (and even better) to come..
