Just wondering since there are so many out there if one or more may be on location somewhere in Las Vegas?

It's my understanding that the PHOF is waiting for a LE or not getting one at all, so looking elsewhere.

#2 10 years ago

I was at PHoF earlier this week and none there just t confirm. Still fun to visit them though!

#3 10 years ago

None that I am aware of but someone else may have spotted one around town.

I was hoping the PHOF was going to get one so I could check it out, but they don't have the Avengers either. Perhaps Tim is cutting back on the NIB purchases since prices have been increasing? Not sure...

#4 10 years ago

Will be following this thread. Gonna make a run up to Vegas (PHOF,and staying at Riviera) on Thursday, and would love to find one myself. Premium on order, but the wait is killing me

#5 10 years ago

Can't believe you could go to a city like Las Vegas and not find even 1 Metallica to play. And from the sounds of it, Avengers either.

How could you run a business that has so many pinball machines like the PHOF and not get one of every release to make your customers happy? You're not hurting Stern, your hurting the pinball fans that want to play the latest games!

#6 10 years ago

Funny.... I was going to start a thread asking the same thing for the KC area. Were just a cowtown here and while one can get a great steak just about anywhere they would hard-pressed to find the new Metallica pin. Didnt mean to hi-jack your thread...I figured Vegas would have one available to play by now.

Rumor on Pinside was Tim Arnold was going to stop buying NIB Sterns b/c he thought build quality was down. I saw that posted here once or twice, not by Tim.

I hope it's not true. I like playing all the Sterns at PHOF.

None yet, I'll have mine soon, your welcome to bring a fist full or quarters and the " donation " will go to a great cause....more games in the future

#9 10 years ago

Century Theaters in our area just landed one.If the PHoF doesn't have one by Sept for our trip to the Maiden show..ctozzi I have a can full of quarters to "donate"

#10 10 years ago

#14 10 years ago

#17 10 years ago

I myself haven't checked it out yet but plan to hit it up today so should know - but like jmule123 said, just head over

Is this accurate?

Only reason that I'm asking it is that someone said that Tim wasn't going to be buying anymore NIB Sterns.

I hope he did.

#19 10 years ago

Yes my friend played it and I saw her high score on the machine - am heading over later today to play myself

NiftyLED - I saw some of your stuff there (Iron Man?) - love how bright the machines are!

#22 10 years ago

Anyone could post a list of the pins they have in PHOF in Vegas. Going in Vegas in september and really want to make a stop to try new machines.

How far is vegaspinball.com from the Strip?

How many machines and what titles do they have (can't find this info on their site)?

I just got back from Vegas and can confirm that PHOF does have a Metallica. It is a Pro model and it is by the front door all by itself. Also the WOZ was up and running although I didn't see anybody playing it.

#26 10 years ago

Thanks for the info. On their site they are saying they have about 200 pinball machines. Can't wait to see that.

About 5 miles or 10-15 minutes from the MGM Grand Casino

Actually they have a Premium model not the Pro. We should be getting our Pro model on our floor very soon.

We are located less than 5 miles from the strip (Eastern and Patrick Lane, just east of the airport) and about 2 miles from the Pinball Hall of Fame. We are open later than the Hall of Fame too so we get a lot of people that show up after they close however we are only open on Tues & Thurs from 8pm and Fri and Sat from 7pm. We stay as late as everyone wants to play. Sometimes as late as 2am and beyond. Everything is set to free play however we are not free. You set the price of admission at our place, whatever you think is fair is fine with us. There is a box on the wall where you can put your fee. It's all on the honor system.

Confirmed Premium at PHOF.Played 20 games on it.Pin was played on for only 2 days and the metal block behind the hammer was already beat up.It needs mylar or rubber sheet stuck to the front and sides.WOZ standard was up and running.I suggest u bring headphones with u to utilize the jack. And block out background noise.Spoke with Tim and Sal,They are not putting the brakes on stern.Buy they do have issues with stern quality. Also Metallica has prototype polyurethane flipper rubber that a company out of the east cost is testing out on tims machines. It is unbelievable stuff.Made stern flippers feel like williams flippers.I asked tim for a set.But he said no.Hopefully they will go into production soon.

Wow, that is a stellar policy there my friend. Will stop in there the next time I'm in Vegas along with the PHOF.

So the rubber down graded the Stern flippers back to W/B flippers ?

No, I think he meant that the rubber made the default Stern flippers feel like W/B? I know that Metallica machine plays well and fast and is fun.

Several games at the PBHoF have those prototype flipper rubbers. They are pretty darn cool and I hope to see them hit the market soon. They should be able to make them in more colors too, even clear!

straight down tropicana on the left side of street from the strip....

i was at PHOF a couple weeks ago....i must have just missed the metallica arrival

Saw it on my visit to phof 7/29. Looked like it had maybe 10 games on it, almost nib. Didn't play it, instead opted to try pinball circus, pretty cool. Tried WoZ when it finally was available but 2 of 3 went down the right outlane immediately without ever touching the flippers. 3rd ball lasted maybe 20 seconds before following the other two. I didn't try it again, mine ships Monday so I figured it's fate I discover the pin at home. Stunning as everyone says.
