Quoted from PtownPin:

I normally love your insight; however I'm not sure I understand or agree with the above comment....totally understand that the 2.0 is more reliable, but everything fails at some point....

Of course it will all fail eventually, but the 2.0 is not a flawed system. The 5.0 and 7.5v buffered and unbuffered flavors are just band-aids on a known flawed design that will fail PREMATURELY. That's the difference. Failure before it would be expected to. I'm just saying I was in the same "my WoZ is rock solid" camp until the first failure, then second, then third, until everything had been replaced over a year. It WILL happen to all of them. Zero problems after months on 2.0.

Totally understand....was the game on route or in a home environment?

Both. Mostly route, but in my house for about a year. It's one of the earliest ECLEs from 2013.

How long between the first and last failure ? I have a 7,5V buffered, I got 3 GI that died within the first 2 weeks, since then my pinball is working like a charm. I'm HUO though machinr is probably on around 2 hours a day.

I must have a later run ECLE because my boards are 7.5V buffered....haven't had any issues yet, but the game only has about 300 plays

I picked up the 2.0 kit for my 7.5 buffered ECLE. It’s a nice thing to have for piece of mind.
Definitely not installing it until something blows or I ever decide to sell.

How much did that set you back?

It was $800. Apparently it will go up in price eventually, but there’s no official word on if or when that is gonna happen.
